Room 104: Night Shift (2019)
Season 3, Episode 10
8/10
Take a bite out of the past when memories of an old flame is revealed!
17 November 2019
This episode 10 from season 3 of the "HBO" series "Room 104" called "Night Shift" is an interesting episode with drama and suspense that has the right build up and mood with dark shadows and a connected past that all lead to a big biting climax! It involves a pod caster who in "Room 104" interviews two old horror show stars from the 1970's and each reveal and have memories about their cult status. Only in the past a lady an old flame came between them as after being revealed this leads to a bite and blood drain it's like a transformation and return to an old friendship of the past in a blood sucking way! Overall well done tense episode with build up and it twist and makes go after the past reveals a point between the two central characters.

The Twilight Zone: To Serve Man (1962)

Aliens have taken over they have arrived to conquer earth!
17 November 2019
This "Twilight Zone" episode from season 3 1962 called "To Serve Man" is one that's quite different and it's form of suspense and drama is very interesting. As it's message of another race proving that earth and man is not alone is on fine showcase here!

The episode has other beings coming to earth to offer humans a deal it's like problems will go away only things appear to start to work and be okay. Slowly humans try to understand this new race only things allude them, things are not what they seem most memorable is the appearance of "Kanamit" the head leader or top alien! Overall well done episode that was a story that seemed ahead of it's time.

Season 2, Episode 15

Well done episode of drama and suspense that proves you are never alone!
17 November 2019
This "Twilight Zone" episode from season 2 1961 called "The Invaders" is one that's well done with suspense and drama as the camera work, shadows, and little dialogue build it up and make things work out well. The story involves a woman(Agnes Moorehead) who lives in a rural farmhouse shack type and all of a sudden one night she has some company that being in the form of a tiny silver robot type character!

Thru it all the doubt and uncertainy builds up in the episode as you ask are they more "UFO's?" but what only this woman decides to do is take matters into her own hands as she prefers to stay alone. Well done it proves that you are never really alone and this tale was a super one for drama and suspense build up and the acting was a good character study.

The Twilight Zone: Walking Distance (1959)
Season 1, Episode 5
7/10
A return to yesterday, looking at the past while accepting the present, and looking towards the future!
17 November 2019
This "Twilight Zone" episode from season one 1959 called "Walking Distance" is one that's sentimental and heart touching as it shows all of us like to look back at the past and find ourselves before living on in the moment. As things change still memories of time, place, and people are always present!

It involves Martin Sloan(Gig Young) a busy VP of a company who decides to return and revisit his old hometown called Homewood, only after getting gas one day when he walks the short distance to his old haunts he discovers that things have stayed in the past! Martin even sees his self as a young boy and meets his mom and dad! Still despite the revisit it's just not in the cards for Martin to stay in the past. Overall good episode of emotions as it proves memories are touching and it's nice for one to go back to their old life and see the past.

Great story of determination, will, and living life in the fast lane all while developing friendship.
16 November 2019
"Ford v Ferrari" is a well done and in depth long drawn out biography that does give good focus to the auto industry and how power and greed intersect with it. As it tells the true story of the legendary race in which Ford challenged Ferrari and would come out on top as an automotive leader.

The scenes are tense and heart pounding often gripping with tension as the gear shifts on the lane, yet things also shift in life for industry and the characters involved. As showcased are the power struggles and corporate problems of industry like greed and doubt however when the Ford GT is developed it breaks the company free to win around the curb of the tracks!

Most compelling and interesting is seeing the friendship form between car designer Carroll Shelby(Matt Damon) and hotshot race driver Ken Miles(Christian Bale) as despite the drama and thrill of the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1966 a bond and lasting and listening friendship is formed between the polar opposites! Overall good touching film of showing how fast speed won over many with love and friendship the film was really paced well and mixed with fun and drama for a near perfect finish lap!

Mrs. Fletcher (2019– )
10/10
Funny, raw and provocative intimate pleasure series that explores both drama and comedy.
11 November 2019
"HBO" has once again did it as they push the envelope with an outspoken and sexy series this one called "Mrs. Fletcher" is one to watch. As it's an empty nest like comedy in which self pleasure replaces the lonely feel of one single mother.

Eve Fletcher(in a good turn from Kathryn Hahn) is a woman who by day takes care of the elderly then by night and other times at home her teen and pretty boy son Brendan(Jackson White) has ruled the kingdom only once he goes away to become a big man on campus Mom is faced with plenty of worry and emptiness. As only some drinks with girlfriends can ease the pain.

However after a search engine sheds new light for Eve her focus is taking care of and loving her own self for the first time in many years! Call it internet porn or whatever this makes this single divorced mom happy she's a okay! And many scenes push the limit even for "HBO" as her daydreams of sex and moments masturbating with cookies are blunt and open! Plus the nipple and bush scenes of her are revealing and expressive.

Some wild card moments and subplots are the life of Brendan while away at college as he sees an open whole new world with different views and attitudes which challenge his mind and life. Also to help Eve get thru life she joins a writing class taught by a transgender instructor, and it's in the class that Eve meets a 19 year old named Julian(Owen Teague) who has a crush on her!

Really in this series you see the emotions of a middle aged woman who at her midlife starts to spice things up and have fun for herself by exploring new methods of pleasure and good physical feel thru isolation as she pushes herself for new liberation and freedom for herself. This series may not be everyone's cup of tea, still give it a watch for it's brash laughs and open feel of pleasure and intimate freedom which rescues a lonely middle age woman at mid life.

Jojo Rabbit (2019)
6/10
A film of parody and fun laughs mixed with imagination and humanity.
10 November 2019
"Jojo Rabbit" is one film that as you watch you enjoy the fun and the laughs as you see the world thru the eyes of a young man during war time in Germany. The themes of love, hate, and murder all blend with fantasy and joy.

Roman Griffin Davis is Jojo a little boy who wants to train to be in Hitler's army only he already has the evil ruler as his imaginary friend. Things then become turned upside down when his finds and his mother(Scarlett Johansson) reveals that she is keeping a young Jewish girl hidden upstairs! It's like it's a whole new world. Only the film explores tolerance, pain, and love in a new light.

Overall good comedy like drama that's fun with change and human feel proving that all people deep down are just alike.

Pain & Glory (2019)
9/10
Deep and great well done reflection of past pain and strong memories and how they have helped shape life!
10 November 2019
"Pain and Glory" a Spanish film that keeps you the viewer interested by reading subtitles shows how life brings glory yet it shows how with age it becomes more of a downfall. In an honest and raw open performance from Antonio Banderas it shows how his life as Salvador was shaped the film has plenty of flashbacks showing his youth of being poor and living in a carved stone like dwelling. Yet his work and determination of literature, art, and thought would make him into a provocative and eye catching film director. Along the way Salvador is kept and loved and supported by his strong and protective hard working mother Jacinta(Penelope Cruz). As when daddy leaves Salvador has only the direction and shoulder of mom to lean on.

Many scenes show deep matters like the revealing fact that from a young age Sal was attracted to boys which lead him to be gay. Along the way power struggles with men and one of Sal's lead actors on a critical film classic challenge his state of mind as problems of the mind start to set in. As with age it's clear the prime has past will he ever work again? As life has become a challenge with many many health problems from digestive issues, to back and bone problems. It goes to show how life and health often declines with age.

Only the memories and passion stills burns for life despite addiction as Salvador has even picked up a heroin problem. Really this film is a great reflection to show how a life was shaped while showing the glory and pain that comes with success and the ups and downs of life and love. Still most important of it all is the memories as both the memories of pain and glory will always be lasting things.

Madman (1981)
6/10
Typical 80's slasher horror gore flick!
10 November 2019
Finally after all these years saw the cult camp slasher classic "Madman" from 1981 and it's clear it's low budget and the story and dialogue doesn't take itself to serious as it's a little cheesy and tongue and cheek. It involves a group of teens at a summer camp for disadvantaged kids and an old curse and bad legend hangs over the heads of all. That involves an old man named Madman Marz who as a farmer still has some skinning to do! As when his name is mentioned to the tone of more than a whisper all hell and havoc become the norm! The scenes are typical 80's gore of blood and the setting of darkness and creepy music get you in the mood. Still the movie feels a little cheap as really it's like a "Friday the 13th" ripoff. Still a watch for any horror film buff if they are into 80's cult slasher flicks.

Only when she comes in contact with George and starts to talk a little dirty the cat and mouse game is on. As after George traces the call and makes an appearance the intimate tease reveals each characters true colors as emotions and guilt come out only you as the viewer don't see what's coming it's like the episode turns with a bang as each stay true to form. A film of freedom and escape.
7 November 2019
"Harriet" is the film about how one Harriet Tubman escaped slavery and made her way thru the underground railroads from the south to the north and her fight for freedom changed things by bringing courage and will. The performance from Cynthia Erivo is raw and tense and this picture is a see for any history buff as it's nice and important to see the struggles of one American historical figure.

Wild funny clever episode with the "Joker"
2 November 2019
As far as I know this is the first episode involving "The Joker" in the "Batman" TV series from season 1 episode 5 called "The Joker is Wild" the first of a two part episode. It's clever funny and you see the clown prince break away from prison to go rob the Gotham Comedy hall of fame. And along the way the unique and clever trick happens when the clown forms his own utility belt to battle "Batman and Robin". And it was nice to see the camp yet funny work from Cesar Romero as his "Joker" was funny with laughs and wit and some of the action moments from this episode were cool too.

The Lighthouse (I) (2019)
7/10
Call it horror, drama or suspense a mysterious and strange tale of past haunts that blend with the mind and imagination.
2 November 2019
"The Lighthouse" is one of those movies that has you guessing with thought and wonder as to what is around the next corner as you ask how the past has affected the two central characters. Call it horror, suspense, or drama it's clear the film's players need escape from isolation. Set in 1890's New England Thomas(Willem Dafoe) and Ephraim(Robert Pattinson) are two inn keepers that are faced with a mysterious lighthouse. Thru it all both blend each other with laughs and emotions as one can see also discomfort and power struggles as it's like Ephraim needs escape and starts to feel the ghosts and demons of his past arise. While Thomas is a wise poet and religious quoting fanatic all makes for an atmosphere of wonder and thought as you ask what does the lighthouse contain and what is it a symbol of? Really this picture is an art piece that's different and grabs your attention to want to think as themes of escape, and mind numbing tricks make you feel amazed with suspense and thought on every level. Overall well done film that's different and strange as you the watcher must make your own call.

To look good and lose weight your life is sucked out! And the champ monster comes alive!
2 November 2019
This episode 6 from the "Shudder" series "Creepshow" features two interesting tales with gore and revenge as the stories "Skincrawlers/By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain" are tales that any horror anthology fan would enjoy.

The first tale "Skincrawlers" is a modern tale of wanting to look good, thin and beautiful as in today's culture that's the thing, however like anything else it comes at a high cost. A young hotshot doctor has a new method for weight loss, however it's sticky and a little bit of a blood sucker once the procedure goes inside the stomach. This procedure backfires and the one's who took treatment await a gross and bloody sucked up death! A real shocking twisted tale!

Then "By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain" is set upstate in the area of where the legendary sea creature "Champ" is set to roam. A family who often goes by the lake has memories of sightings as once dad has passed the feelings of the monster becomes stronger only upon the next visit "Champ" comes out to help and so nice as the daughter gets rid of mother's new boyfriend! Overall two good tales with gore, twist, revenge, that was a treat for any horror fan.

Mean little kiddies that kill good little 80's slasher horror flick for cult fans.
29 October 2019
1981's "Bloody Birthday" was a fun watch as it's typical 80's of gore, blood, and deaths by an unknown killer as it has eye candy scenes of nudity among horny teens. Set in California strange murders start to happen 10 years after 3 kids who were born at the same time of a moon eclipse took place. And the deaths are brutal hard to believe these little baddies can inflect so much punishment, yet when working together one by one and as a trio it equals painful deaths!

As for the eye candy and the tease loved it when Beverly(Julie Brown) does that strip off dance nude scene as her little sister and the killers watch her undress thru a perverted peep hole(and miss Brown looked so hot and sexy in that red colored bra!).

Check this out if you like the horror slasher genre of 80's movies it features the common blood, gore, and skin that was so common of it's day and time.

Silent era cult classic of expressions, difference, and loneliness which helped inspire D.C. comics "Joker"
29 October 2019
Finally after all these years just watched the 1928 classic "The Man Who Laughs" call it horror, suspense, drama, black comedy anyway it's an interesting film on many levels with themes of love, hate, loss, and hope. Plus the score and shadows and faces of odd characters move the film along so well. The expressions and odd places, of people and houses closely rub with the era of German cinema, as it plays with the mind and imagination of dark against light.

Based on a novel from 1869 from Victor Hugo it tells the tale of a noble who would not kiss up or obey King James II therefore his son is taken away and for punishment has a surgically disfigured smile like grin carved across his face! That man is Gwynplaine(Conrad Veidt) who later with his difference and odd face becomes a sideshow freak show performer. This and his meeting of a blind girl named Dea is his only cure for being lonely as only she can feel his gentle nature. This picture is full of doubt and tension from love and difference really for it's day and time so good on many levels.

And if you know movie history and pop culture stories you know that this picture helped inspire D.C. comics for the ideal of the "Clown Prince of Crime" the one and only "Joker" as the grin and smile were to good to turn away for a creation. Overall well done silent film that's important and historical.

Cursed hand seek revenge and death! And crooked folks in crooked town pay up!
27 October 2019
This episode of "Creepshow" features two entertaining tales that hold interest and both twist with revenge as again bad people get what they deserve and both stories have a nice treat of blood and gore.

First tale called "Night of the Paw" involves a funeral director(Bruce Davidson) who's lonely and grief stricken over his dead wife and when a criminal and sexy hit woman(oh she was so sexy love her in that black bra!) makes her way into his home things start to spin and takes turns in this tale. However a mysterious hand comes into play and does it's work for justice!

The next tale is just a turn for fairness and justice as the corrupt finally get what's coming to them the story "Times is Tough in Musky Holler" involves a rural small country town, and how the dead and some honest people have taken matters of justice and punishment into their own hands against the crooked Mayor and bad cops and local gossip girls and shady preachers! So it's time for these bad folks to pay up with flesh!

Overall again well done and good episode of the "Shudder" series as it shows gore, blood and revenge as the bad people get what they deserved with justice being served!

27 October 2019
This episode from the "HBO" series "Room 104" number 7 from season 3 called "Jimmy and Gianni" is one that's interesting and it was touching an emotional bond with a father and son with troubled past. Jimmy and Gianni father and son check into "Room 104" from L.A. and both are artists and they start to paint drawings all thru the room including the walls and back of the beds. Along the way the son opens up about his past addictions and demons of drug abuse and mental problems and dad opens up about how it affected him and even gave him problems with the wife. Overall soul searching episode as both open up and reveal and talk about their pain thru memories and working thru art helps express and cure some hurting. 24 October 2019
This was the very first episode of the "HBO" "The Hitchhiker" series and the episode "Shattered Vows" was a clear knockout it's a tale of greed and lust as it shows what comes around goes around. Jeff(Bruce Greenwood) marries a much older trophy type lady named Jackie and she's wealthy only her hot and sexy stepdaughter Pamela has her eyes set on her money and you guessed it Jeff. This episode has plenty of skin and hot sex scenes plus it was nice eye candy treat seeing Pamela in that sexy black bra. Only strange is how a cursed doll with old voodoo plays a part in all of this. Overall good first episode that was well done.

Well done thrill like tease video with scary dance moves!
24 October 2019
1983 Michael Jackson made a real memorable song and music video that being his hit "Thriller" it's fun and a little cheesy as growing older you find less scary still for it's day it tried. Michael with his girlfriend on a movie date all of a sudden falls into a world of zombies as it's a journey thru the graveyard yet is it a nightmare or just mind games? Overall the dance moves with the monsters and skeletons are cool and the voice work from horror legend Vincent Price is a nice treat directed by John Landis(horror and science fiction director) the music video is highly memorable a lasting pop culture success.

Sexy fantasy hormone driven video.
24 October 2019
"Madonna" raised eyes and caught attention with this music video of her hit song from 1986 "Open Your Heart" as it for one is advertising sex. As from seeing the images it's clearly a tease and it involves a young man who wants to get into a club somewhat of a peep show, once inside "The Material Girl" who's very sexy and beautiful is an exotic dancer. Only it's happy ever after in the end for "Madonna" and the little boy who both leave together. Still the video was well done.
