Cruella (2021)
A definite must-see...
Initially dissuaded by the bad reviews I was reluctant to sit myself down and watch the film. However, Emma Stone proved to strong a pull to resist. A deeply amusing film, brilliant ambience and a very entertaining soundtrack (even though most of the songs have featured on countless movies - yet they were wisely selected} that makes you wanna dance most of the time! If Cruella, freed from the shackles of Disney and the 101 Dalmatian franchise, had been based on an original, albeit similar in spirit, and more adult oriented story, it would in all probability have emerged as the new Forest Gumption of its generation!
The biggest assets of the movie in my view are Emma Stone and the McNamara team who alway do an excellent job in their fields respectively (see The Favourite, for instance}. Special kudos should go too to Emma Thompson whom, I think, I never enjoyed so much ever before. It seems there is something special about Emmas in the film industry in any case!
300: Rise of an Empire (2014)
Ode to Eva
Mediocre, -not to say bad-movie- superb, as always, Eva Green. Had it not been for her the film wouldn't get more than 5 stars but her star quality certainly saves the day. It's a pity she still hasn't had the opportunity tho shine in a really great movie so far. Luckily for her she left a precious imprint in Penny Dreadful. And let's hope she won't always play the villain in the films to come. She deserves much shinier roles. Alas, she portrays a villain again in her next movie, the three musketeers!
How Do You Know (2010)
What a pity for the cast!
I still can't believe that this movie came out of the director of 'As Good As It Gets'! If it was for the brilliant cast it wouldn't get more than 3/10.
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
Emma fan
If it wasn't for Emma Stone 3/10 would be a very generous mark!
