The Color Purple (2023)

Tries to hard..and fails in everyway possible

First off i loved the original and if i hadnt seen the original i'd have no idea of the plot or characters of this movie. It was literally a few words and then more singing. Zero character developement so the audience just has to go off of the original movie. I'm not why the ratings are so high and as high as the original..doesnt make sense to me i wouldnt give it 2 stars. The actors didnt do a great job of acting it was just like they were going through the motions and obviously it was all done in one take. I didnt expect greatness from the movie but i didnt expect it to be this bad. The original is a movie that you can rewatch any rainy day..this one is hard to watch even once. A lot of hate but if your going to make a remake of a great movie you cant just "watch me dance and sing" the entire movie to fill in all the gaps and poor acting. Imagine this movie if the original was never made..i doubt anyone would even watch it and it would make little to no sense at all.

I'm giving it 3 stars because it doesnt have bad acting..just no direction. Its all over the place..after several episodes you just want to turn it off and not think about it ever again.

About the only good thing about the movie was the original cast. How the movie was completely void of any humor is a mystery. It was totally forced..i dont know how i even sat through the entire movie..i will watch the first coming to america again and try and forget this one was ever made.

Horizon Line (2020)

Sometimes you need to ignore the little things and watch a movie without pointing out the little mistakes. Overall this is a movie worth watching and i cant believe all the bad reviews. I normally dont even leave reviews.

I'll give them credit for having all the cast and probably their friends sign in to give a great imdb review. The trouble is that you go to the 10 star review and it has 3 out of 50 that found it helpful. You can trick people into watching your movie with a good review, but nobody is going to like or recommend it. You actually just piss people off enough to never watch another movie from this writer/director.

I saw the reviews and I thought it was odd that they were all great reviews within a day or each other. Some of my favorite movies are only a 5-6, but this is not a good movie. Definitely only worth a 3.5 at the most for imdb. I can only figure that some of the cast got together on a drunken day to give themselves a pat on the back.

A saw a lot of bad reviews and almost avoided watching it altogether. I am a big movie fan and this one had everything you would want to see in a movie. I think some people didn't understand the movie or ending. It's definitely worth a watch and if you don't understand the ending just Google it and hopefully it will all come together for you.

This would be ok if it was written and produced by a third grader. This movie is just horrible and I don't understand how it got the 7 rating on imdb. From what I could see there are at least 20 reviews that are all 1 star and then a lone rating from probably one of the cast of a 10. Some of my favorite movies on are only a 5-6 and they are masterpieces compared to this.

As of writing this movie had a 7 on imdb which it should be a 1. This stuff has to stop. There are far too many good movies with a 5-6 star rating on imdb that are great! Then this dribble gets a 7..how is that possible.

I don't know how imdb has this movie rated 6 stars. I think all of Nicholas Cage's recent movies are probably better and that's horrid. I'm not even sure how I sat through this entire movie..I will never get that time back. This movie really deserved to go straight to DVD or even better the film should have been destroyed and they could have saved everyone a lot of pain.

Just save yourself the time and watch the original. Total waste of time here. They could have done so much better. I really liked the alladin remake..that was excellent. This is just garbage.

I wasn't expecting much from this movie, but this movie was better than the two horror fest movies that bombed last year. I would like to see what they could do with a bigger budget! Don't believe the average reviews and watch this movie if you like horror..you will like it. Now a days all the horror is cgi and jump scares which is really sad.

Looking at the reviews I saw either 1 star or 10 star listings. All of the 1 stars were very angry. Regardless of what your personal views are giving this movie a 1 star is awful. This was a very good movie that everyone should watch especially teenagers.

I was tricked into watching this because the good reviews on imdb. I'm not even sure why I didn't just turn it off..I guess I figured nothing could be this bad. I doubt there was a budget at all, just some people thrown together and filmed with a phone. My question is how did this get a 7.5 rating. There are very good movies that have good actors that only get a 5-6 rating.

I think most of these reviews were written straight from the cast and crew. Definitely not an 8 star rated movie..not even close. The storyline had the potential to be great, but it's packed full of holes that don't make sense. The movie is very forgettable if you can even get through it in the first place without losing Interest. Don't let these fake reviews fool you and watch this only if you have nothing else.

This movie had no comedy or anything going on. Jon Heder has lost any spark that he once had..it was actually pretty sad to watch. I'm giving it 3 stars only because I've seen worse. Best advice I could give is just skip this one. If you do watch please give a review..I'm curious to see if anyone actually liked this movie.

I had to watch with all the great reviews..now I question if they were all written by the same person. Just another low budget Bollywood movie. Nothing extraordinary. I did notice the same grammar mistakes in many of the reviews,. That's why I think the same person or group of people are trying to over rate this film.
