After Life (2019)
Heartbreakingly bittersweet, in typical Gervais fashion
If you enjoyed Derek, you'll probably love this show as well. The show is a unique mix of Gervais' sense of humor with his ability to critique society's blindness to what really counts in our life. The show may be too difficult to watch for recent widowers - viewer discretion is advised.
One of the better Netflix miniseries
The best part of the show is the writers' ability to show the human side from all characters involved in this saga. I suspect some liberties were taken with making Koresh seem more "normal" than he actually was, the show nonetheless does a great job of putting a spotlight on our inability to relate to and understand one another.
The Terror (2018)
The first season is one of the best mini-series you'll find on cable. Superb casting & acting, terrific plot, and a plodding sense of dread that culminates in the kind of head-scratching awe that combines mythology and reality.
Lady Bird (2017)
An overrated ode to director's self.
This was one of the most overrated, overhyped, overacted movies I've seen in a long time. I've heard all the arguments against my view of this movie, and none of them really made sense. Don't waste your time on this film.
