This "show" is laughable
Terrible acting. My God these people are awful.
Terrible dialog. Who wrote this show? The pilot shows zero logic or any sense at all.
Bottom line - It's DUMB
Don't waste your time.
AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004)
Not sure why it got such a bad mark from most people
I went into this expecting a horrible movie. From all the reviews that I read I thought it would be HORRIBLE! I've seen many, many worse movies than this.
A previous comment stated the movie went a bit too fast in explaining things and developing the characters. While I can certainly agree on the former, the latter, well, you just know most of the people are going to get wasted so character development isn't that necessary. We came to see Predators hunt and fight with Aliens.
One thing I didn't like was the movie showed the Aliens more powerful than the Predators. I believe the canon shows the Predators are much more powerful than the Aliens. Regardless, I liked this movie.
This movie surprised me because there were many things I didn't expect. Were some scenes over the top? Absolutely, but this is Hollywood and we're talking Aliens V Predator here :) IF you are a fan of these genres you really should give this movie a chance.
Murder on Spec (2006)
This movie is bad
I'm sorry, this movie is very bad.
I just watched this on Lifetime so I should have known better. As much as I love looking at Brooke Burns, this movie is terrible.
Let's start with the screenplay. Horrible. Completely not believable. The whole premise of the story is ridiculous. Could something like this go on? Maybe. But the way the screenplay is written, there's just no way. It's just so outrageous. Actually, it's comical when you watch it. The acting is pretty funny as well.
If you want to laugh at bad writing, bad filming, bad screenplay, watch this movie. It should be shown in all filming 101 classes about what NOT to do in film-making.
Mass Effect (2007)
This game is my favorite 360 game so far
I would have given it a 10, but 10 is perfect and this game isn't perfect. But with it's slight flaws the game is still amazing. This game's story is very gripping and draws you in. Few games can do this. I like RPGs and shooters, and this game really appealed to me. I guarantee it will appeal to the die hard RPG fans and the shooter fans.
The acting is VERY good. When you play this game you feel like you are watching a movie, but you are directly involved. The mystery, the thrill feel is all there.
Even when you are not in action, but talking and interacting with people it's very interesting and compels you to continue onward with the story.
The game is excellent after you've finished it, and almost seems more fun the second time around. You get to maintain your level and experience after you finish the game.
Just a fun fun fun game overall. My favorite game of the Xbox 360 thus far.
The Gift (2000)
This was an enjoyable haunted mystery....
I really enjoyed this movie. While the mystery was attainable if you watched the movie closely, the performances by Blanchett, Reeves, Swank, and others is very good.
I'm not a fan of Reeves, but he does an excellent performance here. The movie blends a goof amount of humor and scary techniques to keep you into the film.
I would have given it a higher rating, except in a trial there are forensics to prove guilt or innocence, and they seem to gloss over those in this movie. Maybe because it was set in a very rural town? Regardless, I greatly enjoyed watching Blanchett. She really portrayed her character in a superb way.
I highly recommend this movie.
Saw III (2006)
Terrible in every way...
This movie was NOTHING like the first and even the second.
This was completely grotesque. The acting was horrible, HORRIBLE! I felt the movie was made just to be made and gross out everyone.
Yes the movie had twists but they were not the kind that really surprised you like Saw 1 and even the second.
This movie felt rushed and I didn't see any puzzles that were present in the first and second movies.
As for the gore and violence, this was one of the most grotesque movies I've ever seen. I'm sure the gore-freaks will loving seeing this!
Don't see this movie it is not even worth a rental...
Casino Royale (2006)
The best Bond movie for my generation...
First, let me state I am a huge, huge Bond fan. I've seen all the Bond movies many times. The last few Bond movies I was quite disappointed. Not so much disappointed in Mr. Brosnan but more so in the plots. They were very bad and not Bond-like.
The franchise did everything right in this Bond movie. Let's start with Bond. Daniel Craig is the best Bond yet. Sean Connery was my favorite, but he was my favorite for the Cold War era of Bond movies. Today is different, the Cold War is over, and Daniel Craig fits the Bond character superbly. If anyone has read the books, you will know that the James Bond character is somewhat ruthless, harsh, yet sophisticated. Sean Connery played that very well, Timothy Dalton played it even better. Even Brosnan wasn't that bad as Bond. Craig just oozes toughness and a cold heart sometimes that makes you say "Is this really Bond?" Yes it is.
While the plot of Casino Royale can be a bit stretched, the scenes are lovely and the pace is great. Plenty of action with some nice poker playing and lovely women to tone down the peaks. I would have preferred the original game, but poker will do. As I stated, the Cold War is done with, so bring on the most favored card game around - poker.
What I also enjoyed about the Bond series were the casual humor. I found myself laughing, out loud mind you, a few times during this movie. That rarely happens when I'm watching a movie in a theater, unless it's a comedy. Again, they fit in the humor nicely in this film.
I highly recommend this film to any Bond fan, as well as anyone looking for a nice action movie. I'd gladly go see this movie a few more times in the theater, and I can't say that for many of the current movies coming out of Hollywood.
I look forward to seeing Daniel Craig in future Bond movies!
