IPT North American Open: Quinten Hann vs Ronnie O'Sullivan (2006)
Fun match between two bad boys of snooker
Former snooker player and former 8-Ball champion Quinten Hann had just recently been banned from snooker after taking a bribe to throw matches when he took on another snooker bad boy Ronnie O'Sullivan in this entertaining match at the IPT ( International Pool Tour) in Las Vegas.
O'Sullivan is a handy 9-Ball player on his day, but he's not the best 8-Ball player, but this doesn't effect the match not being entertaining.
Both players are/were known for their bad boy reputation's in snooker, especially Hann who a few years previously had challenged fellow professional Andy Hicks to a fight after their match at the World Championship. Mark King another player stepped in a boxing ring with Quinten to defend Hicks. One wishes something similar could have happened here.
Hurricane Higgins (1972)
Documentary after Alex Higgins won his first World Championship
'Alexander the Great was a person in history, and I want to be somebody remembered, you know, because there's no doubt about it, I'm the greatest at present and for as long as I want to be, so that's probably why I want to be Alexander the Great.' Hurricane Higgins took the snooker world by storm, singlehandedly establishing its huge popularity in the 80s, and went on to dominate his field, twice winning the world championship. This film captures Higgins in his pomp, 23 year old and a glamorous world champion, who provides fascinating insight into his state of mind, exuberant and confident but sometimes betraying the early frailties which were to dog his life in future years.
