I hate to lie in reviews. (And also I hate dramas, by the way.) I always try to look from positive perspective as much as possible which means I always try to write good things in reviews. That being said, I can't write a bad film a good review. That's why I always write reviews honestly. Hence, all reviews and ratings I gave were based on real facts, no lying.
I always write reviews short to the point as much as possible. If reviews are too long, I'm afraid that people will feel bored to read them as I am. So, I don't write unnecessary things and always write the main points. But sometimes, some of my reviews might get long. If they did, please understand that it's necessary.
Reviews are based on my opinions only. I know that not everyone is going to agree with me. Everyone has different opinions and views. You can't possibly argue with them.
Finally, please note that English is my secondary language. So, please excuse me if you ever found grammar or spelling mistakes. And by the way, you can also follow me on Twitter @silvermistvio. Thank you for visiting my profile. Have a nice day!
Wonder Dogs (2019)
After I saw this, I won't watch anything from DMA.
This is the second animation that I watched made by DMA. The first one was Dog Town. And still, it's so bad. When I saw the production company at the very beginning, I knew that it was going to be bad. And yes, I was right. This animation is exactly like the first one. It's totally bad. Even terrible!
I really kept my patience to watch this one. But after a few minutes, I couldn't bear it anymore. So, I immediately stopped watching.
Like the first one I watched, this animation is terrible. It's poorly done and the way they animated the characters are very bad. Like the other one, it's very low budget animation. Hence, it turned out like this.
As I didn't watch to the end, so, I don't know the story that much. The story might be good, but as for me, no matter how much the story is good, if the animation quality is bad, it won't become a fine animation.
What made me annoyed was the performances of voice artists, especially the cat. The way they talked is so unnatural and it's so bad. Because of it, I really didn't want to continue to watch.
So, to summarise this review, this animation is so terrible. And I don't know how the hell this animation got 5.2 rating here on IMDB while it doesn't even deserve a star. I don't know about the others, as for me, I would never watch anything from DMA. I can't say that you guys don't watch it, but I could recommend. I recommend that if you don't want to lose your precious time and money, don't ever watch this kind of animation or anything from DMA.
Dog Town (2019)
The worst animation I've ever seen.
Dog Town is really overrated animation I've ever seen. I don't know why some people are saying this animation is good or why they are giving a lot of high rates. As for me, this one is completely a disaster. It doesn't deserve to get overall 4.7 rating (when I was writing this review). In fact, it doesn't even deserve one star. Believe me, I tried to watch it very patiently, but after a few minutes, I couldn't bear it anymore. So, I stopped watching.
What makes this animation bad? First, the way the story begins. There's no introduction at the very beginning of the animation. It's like jumping into the middle. For instance, it's like a song that doesn't have any intro music, as soon as the song is started, the lyrics comes. That is indeed a really bad presentation.
Second, a lot of talking. I mean I get that every animation does have a lot of dialogues, but the way they talk in this animation is so dull and thus, it's so boring.
Third, the animation is terrible. The characters are so ugly and poorly animated. They should have done a better job. Now, it seems like very amateur and also very low budget animation.
Finally, the voice artists. The performances of the voice artists are very important for an animation. In this one, their performances are totally unbearable.
As for summary, this animation really seems like a fine animation outside. That, I must admit. But inside? It's terrible. When I saw this one, the reason I've decided to watch was because of the poster. The poster really seems good. But the animation is so bad. So bad and/or terrible that I couldn't bear. The presentation is so dull and boring. Hence, I'd recommend not to watch this one if you value your precious time and money. (To producers, I'm very sorry to say this.)
Mo Dao Zu Shi: Arrogant (2019)
Changed and combined a lot of things, but it's still OK.
Episode 5 is the only one which is very confusing that I saw so far. Mainly because they made the story shorter. There are many past stories but they chose to put those in one episode. They combined two or more stories into one. I'm not saying that it's not good. But it's not something you can enjoy if you don't know the whole story.
When I watched the season 1, I didn't know the whole story. But I could follow the story. After I watched the season 1, I started to read the novel. Season 1 is very easy to understand. Even if you don't know the whole story, you can enjoy the whole season. But episode is not. I feel like they have changed a lot and also combined a lot into one, I kind of nearly lost in the middle. If I haven't already read the novel, I'm sure I'd be lost. So, I'd say if you watch this episode, you have to make sure that you've already read the novel. Otherwise, you won't get the whole story that much.
As I've mentioned in above, they have changed the plot as well. It gives the fans a new taste if they like this kind of changing. If they don't like, there will be a lot of arguments. No matter what, I think it's still okay as long as it makes sense.
All in all, although they have changed a lot of things and combined many things into one, the story still makes sense. The last scene seems to be different, but we all know how it would turn out. In this season 2 xian yun pian, they always bypass and when it gets to the end, the result turned out to be the same with the novel. Anyway, I just love Mo Dao Zu Shi no matter how much they have changed. So, I can't wait to see the next episodes.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 (2019)
A great pets related animation.
The secret life of pets 2 is a sequel of the previous animation the secret life of pets. The plot is like the previous film. It shows how the pets behave behind the owners' backs. It's like Toy Story. That's why I love this kind of animations.
To be honest, the plot is kind of simple. But it's kind of turned out to be great. The characters are cute, lovely and kind of funny. I love the fact that Max becomes so brave. Rooster seems to be kind of rude outside, but he's so good inside and also he's done a good thing on Max. Because of him, Max becomes so brave as he's now.
This animation shows the lovely relationship between humans and pets, especially dogs. Pets, they are really lovely if they are well tamed. They become the best friends in the world. So, I'd say this animation is really good one in the pets related films category.
To conclude this review, although the plot is quite simple, but it's somehow turned out to be a great animation. And also it has some exciting moments. Thus, it's really enjoyable and I've enjoyed every seconds of it. If you love pets, I'm sure that it'd be a great animation for you.
A fine film with biggest flaw.
Aladdin was one of my favourite animations that I love when I was a kid. As English language isn't my mother language, so, when I watched the animation when I was a kid, I didn't get the plot that much. So, without understanding that much, it can be said that I watched blindly. Even so, I kind of loved Aladdin. The main thing why I love Aladdin animation is Genie and magic carpet which are really cool. So, when I saw that the live action was coming out, I was kind of exciting to see it.
Aladdin story is based on the love story, but what made me interest in the story was Genie and magic carpet. Because of the power they have, they are really cool. I kind of sometimes wonder why Genie only grants for three wishes? Why not two or four wishes? 😁 And also I always wonder if I got that, what would I wish for? 😁
The casts are basically fine, but it's kind of weird to see Will Smith as Genie. Although Genie's body is kind of big, but I didn't expect that big. That's why I feel like it's kind of strange to see. And also I don't quite like Naomi Scott as Jasmine. I don't know about her acting in her other films, but she's not that good as Jasmine. I feel like she doesn't fit in the role. So, I prefer the animation for this part.
Although Aladdin is a fine film, but there's one biggest flaw. "Do you trust me?" part is the most important part of all. That was how Jasmine recognised prince Ali is really Aladdin. In the animation, it was fine. But in the live action, there was no the first "Do you trust me?" part in the scene where Aladdin and Jasmine tried to get away from those guards. If there's no that part, how the hell Jasmine recognise prince Ali is Aladdin? And also saying "what did you say?" (when Aladdin invites her to ride on the carpet with her) becomes nonsense. So, I'd say there's a big flaw.
All in all, Aladdin live action is quite similar to the animation version. There's no difference between them and it can be said it's a fine film. So, I kind of loved watching it.
Chen qing ling (2019)
One of my favourite TV series of all time!
Chen Qing Ling aka The Untamed is the live action based on Mo Dao Zu Shi (The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation) written by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. The original novel is about boys love. But according to the censorship for films in China, the live action can't be about boys love. So, it became something different. Some says it's bromance. Some says brothery love. No matter what, it's kind of based on friendship.
Some people says they have changed a lot to the plot. It's not the same with the novel. About that, I want to say you should all get used to it. A lot of live actions (which also have animation version and it's already out) are different from the original novel. Mainly because they think that if they have done the same with the novel, they might lose fans or viewers. So, they always make it different. Animations are also the same. But not many. Just some of them.
When they changed the plot into something different, some turned out to be good or even great. Some turned out to be worse. Some are nonsense. So, no one can guarantee that everything will be great. Of course it also depends on the people who are watching. Everyone has different views. So, can't argue with that.
Chen Qing Ling is also one of them which are different from the original novel. I'm not saying that changing the contents is not good. But it doesn't work well with the concept. The concept is fundamental level. If the foundation is not good, everything above is very easy to collapse. So.
Because they changed the contents a lot, some things are not the same with previously stated, especially Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan. In some scenes, Jin Zixuan seemed to be interesting in Jiang Yanli. And then in the later scenes, Jin Zixuan didn't think that Jiang Yanli isn't the one who he should married to. So, those two facts are not harmony. In Chinese, yi zi zhi mao gong zi zhi dun (translation: refute somebody with his own argument). So.
As I've stated, the concept is also wrong. So-called Mo Dao Zu Shi (The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation) is because Wei Wuxian is the first one who practiced demonic way. But in the live action, he's the third one. And also Yin Hu Fu is what Wei Wuxian did. That is unique treasure. But in the live action, it's not. It's like so many Yin Hu Fus. So, the concept is totally wrong.
Moreover, there are some facts missing. For example, they didn't explain why Jin Guangyao didn't kill Sisi. And also they didn't explain how Lan Zhan got that seal mark. (They explained about whip scars though.)
One more thing I also want to mention is about the casting. I like Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo. I really do. They did amazing jobs. They are so cute in those behind the scenes video clips. But the fact stated in the novel is that Lan Wangji is taller and older than Wei Wuxian. But the casting director made it the opposite. It's kind of strange to see the characters and actors are opposite. If I didn't think about it, I'd say the casting is good.
Talk about casting, I really don't like Wen Qing's cast, Meng Ziyi. Her acting is terrible. If the casting director chose the other actress, it'd be better.
What I hate the most is about Wen Qing's parts. In the novel, Wen Qing's parts are only four or five scenes. Although she doesn't appear that much, her character is so clear and also every parts she is in are very important. But in the live action, her parts are too much. I even think that humours might be right. (The humour is that Wen Qing cast, Meng Ziyi gave money to write more parts for her.) I feel like Wen Qing is everywhere. So, I ended with hating Wen Qing. Furthermore, in the original novel, Wen Qing doesn't do Wen Ruohan's bad things. But in the live action, she did whatever Wen Ruohan wanted her to do. That's the reason why I hate Wen Qing. If they have kept the original for Wen Qing's character, it'd be better than this.
All in all, Chen Qing Ling does have many faults and a lot of movie mistakes to point out, no matter how it's nonsense, I still love to watch it. I watch those episodes as soon as they are out. So, I have finish all. Even I've finished, I watch again and again. In fact, I already watched it many times and still, I want to watch again and again. I don't know about others, as for me, Chen Qing Ling is one of favourite TV series of all time not because the original novel is about boys love. It's because the plot is so good. It shows cleverness. So, I totally love it.
Edited on 19 August 2019: I forgot to mention about the costume designs. So-called Lan Sect's mourning clothes (pi ma dai xiao fu) is that their clothes are based on white colour. (In China, plain white clothes are for funerals. When people died, they only wear completely white clothes.) According to the novel, only people of Lan Sect wear white clothes. But in this live action, not only Lan Sect but also Jiang Sect and Nie Sect wear the white clothes. Moreover, Jiang Sect and Nie Sect's clothes are nearly the same. I can't quite differentiate which clothes are Jiang Sect's and which is Nie Sect's. So, if they have designed clothes unique, it'd be better.
Mo Dao Zu Shi: Uncle (2019)
Feels like a bit different. But it still works.
The name of this episode is "Shi Shu" which means "uncle of the same teacher". But in this case, just "uncle" is enough.
The main plot of this episode is Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian follows the clues and arrived at Qinghe which is also Nie Huaisang's home. Nie Huaisang is Qinghe Nie Sect's second son who both Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian met in Gusu. They found a family grave and went there to investigate. Then they found Jin Ling in the wall. They both rescued him and found someone is near that grave. So, Lan Wangji went to capture him. While Lan Wangji left Wei Wuxian alone, Jiang Cheng appeared and whip Wei Wuxian. And then he called Wei Wuxian Wei Wuxian.
What I don't like of this episode is the inquiry part. Lan Wangji played Zither (qin). In the novel, they asked a lot of questions. But in this animation, they didn't. They skipped a lot of questions. They skipped to the end. That is what led to happen nonsense. If they have done according to novel, it'd be better.
The part where Wei Wuxian and baby Jin Ling talked really confused me. They have met in the past or just what Wei Wuxian was thinking about it? That part is really unclear.
It's so sad to see Jiang Yanli died. I know that she died, but seeing her die for the second time is really really sad. All in all, they made some differences in the animation, but it's still good.
The Walking Dead: I Ain't a Judas (2013)
Andrea is so weak unlike Carol.
This episode has a boring start. But it really shows some people's behaviours. For instance, Andrea. She seemed to be tough and cold. But she's not. Unlike Carol. She couldn't killed that governor guy. I think she should have done that a long time ago. She couldn't kill him even she knew the truth about him and his lies. It seems that she's totally in love with him.
About those four new people, they really know how to return Rick's people's kindnesses. Even though Rick's behaviour on them wasn't that great, they have lived under their shelter for some days. In those days, if they were outside, who could say that they wouldn't face danger? Who could say that they would be alive? Who could say that they wouldn't get bit? So, no matter what, Rick's group's kindness is on them. They shouldn't betray them. They shouldn't say anything about prison when that governor guy asked about layout.
As I've mentioned that as the show goes on, I hate Andrea more and more. In previous episodes, she didn't want to live anymore. She also willingly stayed in that building which was about to be blown up. And now? She's choosing a warm bed over a friend? Totally nonsense. 😒
That governor guy is really preparing for the war. I guess it's going to be interesting because they got four more people who will help them. I want to see how it would turn out. The show is really becoming interesting more and more. 😁
All in all, as I've said this episode turned out to be a little boring somehow, but it shows the human nature. So, I'd say it's kind of a fine episode.
The Walking Dead: Home (2013)
Great choice, Daryl.
Episode 10 was kind of full of talking. There wasn't that much actions. I was waiting for it to come and when I saw there's not, I was sort of disappointed.
I understand that losing someone is really painful, but Rick? I know that Lori's his wife. But wake up! The whole group is counting on him. And what's he doing? He's letting the emotions take over him. So, I'm getting angry at Rick. Useless Rick! Because he's too into that Lori ghost thing (which isn't real), he was outside the prison and nearly got bit. Even if Daryl didn't come, if he's got bit, it was also good. He kind of deserve it. 😒
That governor guy is really bad. He's the one who first touch Rick and his people. And now, he's declared war? He's terrible. I really don't know why Andrea fell for that guy. I wish he'd be dead soon.
What I don't understand is the guy at the watchtower who Maggie shot. He's not one of Rick's group? If he wasn't, how the hell did he get to the watchtower?
So sad to see one of Rick's group died. And he died in front of Carol. I kind of want to kill that governor guy for that. 😡
In this episode, there are sad scenes but there's a great scene too. Finally, we get to see that Daryl chose to leave his own brother Merle and go back to Rick's group. That was very smart of him. I really like that scene. 👍
All in all, this episode doesn't have that much interesting things. All it has is they talk and keep talking. I really want to see some actions. So, I hope there will be some actions in the next episode.
Weak plot but it indeed has some good scenes.
I'm not that much fan of IP Man related films or even Hong Kong films. The reason why I watched this film was because it was some action related, so, I wanted to take a look at it. But later, I found out it's not that bad and it's not that good either. Let's say it's somewhere in between.
This film shows about that British era of Hong Kong. I'm not saying that every British is bad, but at that time, they must have bad on people just like those Japanese in China. That era is so terrible and thus, I don't watch those films which are based on that era. The behaviours in that era are so cruel and bloody. Hence, it's so sad. That's why I always avoid to watch those films based on that era. Before I watched this film, I didn't know they based on that era I hate. Otherwise, I wouldn't watch it.
OK, back to the film. There's only one bad thing and also it's the main bad thing about this film. It's the plot. The plot doesn't have that much contents. Bad guys do bad things to good people and good people pay back or in the other word, revenge. The whole movie is in the same pattern. And also, it's sort of predictable. That's why I said there's no that much contents. That's what makes this film bad, I guess.
As it is a Hong Kong film, so, the language is Cantonese. It's a very bad thing for me because I don't know Cantonese although it is based on Chinese language. If they have Chinese subtitled, yeah, I might know. Not everyone knows Cantonese, but almost everyone knows Mandarin. That's why I think every Chinese films should be in Chinese Mandarin to get worldwide market, so that every Chinese can understand. Because it's Cantonese, I was relying on the English subtitle. The whole film, I had to read English subtitle. I had to read English subtitle for a Chinese film. What a joke!
That being said, I must admit that the fighting choreographies are very good. Those fighting scenes gave me so excited and I was really afraid of CTC would lose the fight even though I knew that he's going to win because he's the lead character. 😁
Overall is that because of the weak plot, I'd say this film is not that good one. But it's enjoyable for a watch. Because of those awesome fighting scenes, I've enjoyed some moments.
Simple but it shows some nature.
The walking dead TV show is superb. Every episode is amazing and it's interesting somehow even it turned into some kind of drama sometimes. That's why I love the show and I keep watching the episodes no matter how many seasons and episodes it gets.
There are a lot of things I want to point out. Firstly, Daryl. I can't believe that Daryl chose Merle and left the group he was with for a long time. I mean I get that Merle is his brother, but he's no good man. So, it's very hurt to see that he chose Merle.
Second, Harshel. I think he's wrong again. Among those four guys, two are showing greedy about that place. Who says they won't try to get it? I really want to know what would happen next.
I'm glad to see that one of the zombies went to Woodbury. As much as I feel sad for those poor people, but I hate governor guy. So, it's great to see one got into it.
As the show goes on, I'm becoming to hate Andrea more and more. She's totally got into governor's web. She thinks everything that governor guy told her is true like Rick and the rest of them killed those people for no reason. I kind of hate that. 😡 So, I'm so eager to see what's gonna happen to her. 😁
About Maggie and Glenn, I get that why they don't want Merle in their group and they are right. Merle played a part in what made Glenn suffered all bad things. And I get that why Glenn is so angry and said. But as they say, time would heal every wound. So, I'd like to see they would turn into normal state.
What I don't understand is that woman that Rick saw. Because her face is black and it's not clear, I hardly can guess who she is. Is it Lori? Rick seems to be having delusion because no one could see her except him. So, I'm also looking forward to see some explanation for that part.
This episode is kind of simple but it shows the nature. The nature of two sides. Everything has two perspectives. For example, from Rick's perspective, Merle is a bad guy and he deserved whatever bad things happen to him. He shouldn't be with the group. As for Daryl's, Merle is the only relative he's got. So, he surely can't leave his own brother. It's understandable. Right or wrong, it only depends on which perspective you look from.
Summarising this review, although this episode is just a normal episode, but it has described some nature and it's good to see that Daryl is free, so, I'd say it's a fine one. The walking dead TV show is always amazed me and I'm totally love it.
Batman: Hush (2019)
It's a good animation even for non Batman fan.
Batman films are out of my reach as I'm not a fan. But when I saw this animation, the poster is kind of good and the running time is a bit short, so, I decided to watch. It'd be better if I'd say to give a try.
Batman films are quite different from any other superhero films I've seen. I always feel like Batman doesn't have any kind of superpowers. He became a hero because he has money and able to get some gadgets. That's why I'm not that much fan of him.
The animation is not that bad and also the plot. But the plot is like other superheroes. The bad guys do bad things and superheroes save the day. But I must say it's not that bad even if the plot is that simple. What I don't like of this animation is that Batman wants to save Riddler even though he's a bad guy and he's the mastermind of everything. He even killed Batman's best friend. He also tried to kill his girlfriend. As for me, when bad guys died, it's not anyone's fault. So, if I were Batman, I would never save him. So, I agreed with Catwoman. And that's what makes me not to like Batman more and more.
Although I don't quite like Batman, I've enjoyed this animation because it really gives some fun and excitements. Even if someone who doesn't like Batman says it's a good animation, I'm quite sure it's great for Batman's fans. That's why I give this animation the rating 8 even when I'm not a Batman's fan.
(P.S. I know that everyone has different views. So, I'm not offending and arguing with them. I'm just telling what I think.)
Mo Dao Zu Shi: Puzzle Net (2019)
Finally, that scene has come out. 😂😂😂
Every Mo Dao Zu Shi episode is very interesting and it's so exciting to watch. This episode is also the same. I should rather say it's more interesting because of the final scene of the previous episode. That's what makes this episode so exciting and interesting.
In this episode, I really hate Jiang Cheng. 😡 After I saw this episode, I feel like it's the best that Wen Ning told Jiang Cheng that his golden core is Wei Wuxian's. Otherwise, I think he'll be more ignorant than now. 😒 He thinks he's better than Wei Wuxian. He can do better than before. I kind of hate that. That's why I love that scene where Jiang Cheng knows the truth. The truth that what he did, what he could do was not what he could. It's Wei Wuxian could. That's why I really don't like Jiang Cheng. And I don't like Wen Ning in this episode because he didn't fight that much. Of course I know the reason why he always avoids to fight with Jiang Cheng. But I want him to fight Jiang Cheng because of Jiang Cheng's arrogance.
What I love the most of this episode is that scene where Wei Wuxian's afraid of dog(s). The animation team even made him to climb up to Lan Wanji's body. Even live action doesn't have it, we finally get to see it in the animation. I'm so happy to see that scene. It's so cute. 😁
The final scene always makes me wondered what would be in the next scene. The final scene seems like it's Nie Huaisang. I really want to know what he's doing there. 😁
All in all, Mo Dao Zu Shi animation is really interesting and I can't wait to see the next episode which will air in the next week. I feel like it's a long way to wait. 😔
Mo Dao Zu Shi: Resentment (2019)
Trouble begins??? 🤔😁
This episode is the second episode of the season 2. The episode name means resentment or grievance in direct translation, so, I thought it was kind of concerning with anger. And I found out that I was right somehow.
As I've mentioned in the previous review, they have changed the plot. It can be seen clearly in this episode. But no matter how they changed, it will not effect the result. The result will be the same, like nothing has changed, but the process is changed. It's like bypass. That's what I love. It shows the cleverness of a writer.
Jin Ling is kind of troublesome to me in this episode. I really want to hit him. 😁 And I like how Lan Wangji protects Wei Wuxian, how he stands on his side and talks. That's really cute. 😍😘
Summarising is that this episode gives a lot of excitement. It makes the viewers interesting in the animation. The final scene makes me keep watching and watching. I can't wait to see what would happen in the next episode. 😁
Mo Dao Zu Shi: Collaboration (2019)
Season 2 finally came! 😁
After waited for 8 months (I watched season 1 in December 2018), season 2 is finally out. Fans waited for so long and they didn't release it sooner. But today, they finally released the season 2. I think they also know that fans waited for so long, so, they released 3 episodes in one go. But it's just on the first day. After today, I think they will only release an episode per week.
Xie Shou (join hands for direct translation) is the first episode for season 2. It's mainly about Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji find out about that hand (which Lan Wangji got from Mo residence) and investigate about it. The scenes are darker than the previous season 1. Maybe it's based on the nights. Or they deliberately made it darker. To know it exactly, we need to watch the next upcoming episodes.
There are two scenes I love. One is that scene where Wei Wuxian said "Open!" and then Ming Room's door opened. I wanted to see it in the animation when I saw it in comics. Finally, they put it in animation which wasn't in the live action. And the other scene is where Lan Wangji conceal Wei Wuxian's identity from his uncle, Lan Qiren. Those scenes are very cute.
The scene where Wei Wuxian steal Lan Wangji's jade is also a good one too. Wei Wuxian finally saw the whip scars on Lan Wangji's body. I can't wait to see when he knows the truth about it.
There's one thing strange about this season 2. At the beginning of the episode, there is a sentence saying this animation is not for under aged children. If under aged kids want to watch it, they will need to be accompanied by their guardians. That made me wondered why would it inappropriate for under aged kids? What kind of scenes did they put? For normal condition, I think season 2 scenes and season 1 are mostly the same. If there is no warning in the season 1, there shouldn't be in the season 2 too. That's why I'm really curious about it.
All in all, although they change the plot a little, it's also good too. It makes more interesting because no one knows what would happen next. I really want to know how it would go, especially the final scene. I'm so eager to know what would come next. 😁 Mo Dao Zu Shi really makes viewers more interesting and interesting.
Marnies Welt (2018)
Simple but it's fun.
Before I watched this animation, I've read some of the reviews on IMDB. Some of them saying that this animation is kind of fun. After I've watched, I agree with them. This animation is indeed full of fun. Although it's not quite possible that a cat can solve the case, it's really fun to watch.
The plot is really simple, but maybe because the directing is good, it turned out to be somehow good. I love detective stories, so, I kept watching it. And I've discovered that it's interesting and exciting in some way. Even though the animation is not from Disney, it's still OK. But I don't like Marnie's voice artist. The sound is too sharp and tiny. The other voice artists are doing fine. So, if they have chosen the other voice artist for Marnie character, it'd be better.
Conclusion is that although the animation really needs to improve, the animation is really full of fun and good to watch. Hence, I've totally enjoyed every second of it.
Amateur, child play hero film.
Valentine is an amateur hero film. So-called hero film because she doesn't have any kind of superpower. All she can do is fight. So, it can't be said superhero film. It can only be said a hero film. But the presentation style and screenplay is kind of amateur. But I must admit that it's not less serious like Shazam. So, at least, it's still okay.
The film seems to be inspired by Superman, Spiderman, that kind of superheroes. But too bad that Valentine doesn't have any superpowers. So, I'd say it's kind of boring because superhero stuffs are better than normal hero's. That being said, fighting choreographies are quite good. So, as for action film, it's very fine.
I kind of like those films where the main character is responsible for catching bad guys in every way possible. But in this film, Valentine seemed to be kind of weak and she sat the last one out. So, I think they need to improve this in some way.
What I watched is English dubbed version, so, I don't know what the original one looks like. But the English dubbed version is the worst. The voice artists are terrible. It seemed to me that like, they don't even know how to act, especially, the one who voice acted as Valentine. The way she speaks is so annoying. Most of English dubbed films are terrible. That's why I don't like to watch English dubbed versions. 😒
All in all, this film is just a fine hero film. But as for action, it's not so bad. Although dialogues are a bit weird, but it's still doing good. If they improve this film somehow, it'd be better than this.
Men in Black: International (2019)
Another film that I saw where Liam is a bad guy. 😁
Men In Black International is the only film that I watch which I didn't know Liam Nesson was in. Honestly, I haven't watched any Men In Black films before. So, I have no idea about Men In Black films look like. So, no comparison. I could only write review based on this film.
OK, when I decided to watch this one, I didn't have any high hope. I saw the poster was kind of good, so, I thought that the film would be a fine one too. Hence, I watched it.
When I saw Liam Nesson was in the film, I was surprised. Mainly because I always watch his films and I've totally missed this one. Maybe because I haven't checked out his films recently. And when I saw Chris Hemsworth was in it too, I was surprised too. I saw his Thor films and never seen any other films. But to be honest, I didn't like his character in this film. It's like he thinks he's better than anyone. And I hate those kinds of people. Also I don't like Molly too. Her character kind of disgusted me. No offence.
The performances are basically fine, except for the actress who acted as Molly. I feel like her acting is terrible. The casting director should have chosen the other actress instead of her. The screenplay is fine too. Some scenes are funny and some are interesting. That makes this film good, I think.
Overall is that Men In Black International is a good film to enjoy even though it's a bit less serious. I don't know about others. As for me, I've totally enjoyed it.
Great concept, but a little bit confused.
I didn't know this film in the first place until someone mentioned in a list saying that it's full of twists and turns. So, I thought it might be something interesting and that's why I happened to watch this film. The running time was a bit long. At first, I was a bit lazy to watch. But recently, I watched Avengers: Endgame which has 3 hours of running time. After I watched Endgame, I felt 2.5 hours was nothing. Thus, I watched it.
When the film has started, I felt a little bit confused. Maybe because of the presentation style, I was confused for some minutes but I continued to watch. After some minutes passed, I kind of could followed up the plot. Then I felt it's like Matrix film, but later I found out that it's not that much alike. Matrix is concerning with controlling things with minds. This film is concerning with dreams. So, they are very much different.
This film is kind of sci-fi film and sometimes, it makes me feel like some sort of fiction. I kind of like the concept, but maybe the presentation style is very confusing, so, it's really a big confusion. Moreover, the dialogues are a bit odd and different. Maybe I'm not native speaker, I don't get some parts. In general, I only get 70% of the film.
The performances are not so bad. I really like Arthur character. He's really cute and talented. It's like he's so capable of everything he's facing. So, I'd say it's quite good.
Too bad that they didn't show the result of what they were doing. I mean we all know what's going happen and what the result is. But I feel that if they showed the result, it'd be better. It really gives the viewers a lot of satisfaction. And about twists and turns, I didn't see them that much. I feel like it's just so normal.
All in all, the script needs to be less confusion and if the presentation style is a bit simple, I'm quite sure that this film will be better.
Volki i ovtsy. Khod sviney (2019)
Simple but it's a kind animation that everyone should watch.
Sheep and Wolves: Pig Deal is a kind of short animation that has only an hour and 15 minutes long. As for standard, it was too short. So, when I saw this animation, I didn't have that much high hope. According to the poster, I thought it was just a fine animation. In fact, it has the word sheep. So, I thought it might be lovely. So, I watched.
When the animation started, I was so surprised to see that this animation is from Russia. I'm not saying that their products are not good. But compared with those animation produced by US, they are quite inferior to them. Stories and animation quality are also lower than theirs. Hence, I thought it wouldn't be that good when I saw it's from Russia.
As the animation went minutes by minutes, I kept continued to amaze. The story is so simple but because the animation is quite good (although there are some sketches), the animation somehow turned out to be good.
This animation shows the nature can be changed. Wolves are supposed to hurt sheep, but in this animation, that nature is changed. It's something different to see, but in someway, it's kind of cute. It shows the peace that we should keep and we must have peace. Like in this animation, if we have peace between us, wouldn't this world better?
Bad thing about this animation is that the running time is too short. But they deliberately made it short to let the audience think the rest of it. And I really want to know what that portion they all drank does, rather than changing back to normal. Too bad that they didn't show.
The other thing that made me wondered is that what if that crocodile turned back to normal? What would they do? And what would that crocodile do? Will he drink that same portion to turn back to sheep? If he does, it would be so lovely. 😁
And I love Grey's wife. She's so talented, supportive and she can give strength when her husband needed it. She's so cute. 😍😘
Anyway, this animation has a message that nothing is impossible. Like wolves and sheep have peace and live together, we can also have the same peace like them. Everyone should watch this animation, so that we could all have peace and make the world better and better.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
A sad Avengers film I've ever seen.
I'm not that much fan of Avengers series. So, it is kind of difficult for me to review this kind of films. I always see Avengers films are concerning with fights and battles (those kinds of things) but this one is kind of different. It also has some drama. Well, sort of. So, I find it some scenes are a bit boring. But I could watch it. Hence, it's fine.
It's so sad to see Iron Man died. But I was touched to see when he sacrificed his life to save a lot of people. And Thanos? He even sacrificed his own daughter just to get the stone. I just wished that Iron Man didn't die. He's sweet guy even though sometimes, he felt like he was better than anyone.
Another touchable thing is to see Captain America went back time and married the girl who is he once loved and missed a chance to get her. It's so good to see he finally has a chance to try. Although he became an old man when he went back, but he had great/sweet time with his girl he loves. So, I think it's totally worth it. And that scene is so sweet even though it's so sad to see.
There's one thing that I don't understand. About Nebula, past Nebula died. Doesn't mean there's no Nebula anymore? But the present Nebula still exists. If there's no past, how the present exists? 🤔
This film ended with sad ending. So, as the one who loves to see happy ending, I'd say it's kind of inferior to the other films which have happy ending. Not all films end with happy ending. That I understand. But I just want to see happy ending. Films are for entertainment anyway. 😁
Overall is that Avengers series are always the best even I'm not that fan of it. This film is also a good one too. It gives sweet moments and all. The special effects are good, yet, the fighting scenes are a little bit simple. I want to see more of it and awesome complex fighting scenes. That being said, the current one is doing fine and I've totally enjoyed it.
The Walking Dead: Made to Suffer (2012)
It's time for Merle change sides.
This episode shows how Andrea is so stupid. The governor guy wants to keep out Andrea from knowing those people who came to their town is her previous group. But Andrea is so stupid that she couldn't see his intention. And when she meets with Mich again, she also wants to blame her for what she did. She was with the governor guy, so, she blames Mich, the one who saved her life. Unbelievable! Even the governor guy didn't save her and she trusts such a man? I really hate Andrea now.
I think Merle can see the truth now. He didn't betray anyone. And he didn't lead anyone in. Yet, the governor guy said he was the one who betrayed and lead those people into town. So, if he wasn't that dumb, he will know it's time to change sides. I want to see he changed sides in the next episode.
It's good to see that Mich finally killed Penny. I know that she's just a little girl, but it's zombie now. So, killing her doesn't make Mich bad. It's only bad that Mich didn't kill that governor guy. I also want to see whether Carl saved those people is right or wrong. I hope Rick and the rest will never get hurt again.
All in all, this episode is kind of a fine episode, but it shows that some people's royalty and some do whatever it takes to protect his own ass. So, I'd say it's still okay and I can't wait to see the next and next episodes.
I hate Maggie now. 😡
When Maggie appeared for the first time, I didn't like her much. I felt like there was something about her. Something might go wrong with her. Later, she started to love Glenn and becoming that sort of girl who takes responsibilities for Glenn, so, I started to like her. But I was wrong about it. Things finally went wrong because of her. Even Glenn could hold not saying anything. She just told everything they want to know. Of course I know that she did that because she wanted to save Glenn. Just to save him and betrayed the whole group is not acceptable. That kind of people are so dangerous. That's why I hate Maggie now. 😡
What I like is the group. They all want to save their members no matter what. Once they are facing grave danger, all goes out and tries to save them. Even Daryl wants to save Glenn while Merle has turned completely a bad guy. Even worst.
What I hate is what Maggie did. Why did she listen and do whatever the governor guy wanted her to do? She should decline. What could he do to her if she decline? So, I think she doesn't need to be that afraid.
And I also don't like that researcher. He didn't believe what Andrea said. He just wanted to set him free. If I were Andrea, I wouldn't save him. He's so stupid. So, I'd let him die.
Overall is that this episode shows there are two kinds of people. And that we should value good people as diamonds. I love their friendships. I hope they could last forever. And also I hope that they could save Glenn and that stupid Maggie. I can't wait to see they are saved.
The Walking Dead: Hounded (2012)
Confused and sad!
As usual, this episode is also a good one too. At least, Rick could come out of it. But there are some doubtable things in this episode.
What I don't get is those people who contacted Rick saying that they know Rick. Rick predicted that they are Lori, Amy and etc. But those people were already dead. Especially Amy. Amy turned into zombie and Andrea killed her. We all saw that. So, how the hell they all are alive? I think it's a mystery. I can't wait to find out about that.
Merle can't change, can he? His brother Daryl became a good guy and he's still an asshole. I think some people are bad even they are brother to each other.
I really don't like Andrea more and more. Mich said the governor guy cannot be trusted and she's just slept with him. I'm like what's wrong with her? I kind of even hate her.
With Glenn and Maggie have been captured, there will be some interesting in the next episode. I want to see how they will be rescued. I can't wait for it. All in all, this episode is also an interesting one.
The Walking Dead: Say the Word (2012)
Deserved it, Andrea! 😡
Episode 5 is simple. But it's a great one for me. What I love of this episode is that Mich left Andrea who wants to live there. She should've left Andrea a long time ago. Andrea has become someone I hate. And also that scene where Daryl had little Lori in his hands is so cute. I didn't have an idea that Daryl would be like that. 😂 He really looks cute with the baby in his hands. The way he takes care of the baby and Carl afraid of the baby would fall off Daryl's hands are very cute too. I totally love those scenes. 😁
I think Mich left is good too. That place is kind of weird and very dangerous place to stay in. I don't know what got into Andrea, so that she wanted to live in such a place. As for Penny, I really want someone or Andrea to find out about her. But it seems like a long way to go.
I kind of hate Rick in this episode. I mean his wife Lori is dead. Of course he should be grieving. But I think he's too much. His wife is dead, no way to time back time. But his son and daughter are still alive. He should focus on it. He should have taken some responsibilities for them. By the looks of him, I'd say he would make the worst father.
Overall is that this episode is kind of a great one because it shows Andrea got left by her 8 months friendship for good. And also because she later finds out she should've left that place with Mich. So, yeah, it's great episode.
