Fear Street: 1994 (2021)
Aimless.
The biggest sin of this movie to me is the meandering first hour. It doesn't feel like the plot gets moving until the 40 minute mark and even after that the viewer is left wondering what the point to all of it is. Even when the plot starts to clumsily slog along, the characters thaz have been built up aren't interesting or sympathetic in the slightest.
Bad script.
Grease Live! (2016)
A bloated mess!
The first hour of this movie has more subplots than twelve Iñárritu films in a zombified leather jacket. Characters that weren't in the original and that we don't care about interact in the most boring, tonged-in-cheek fashion imaginable. Only reason this isn't lower is because of the great covers of the songs we already had; a backhanded compliment at best.
Chicken Girls (2017)
Garbo
It's biggest saying points are the unintentionally funny things. When the show tries to get serious it is laughable.
Zapped (2014)
Souless
This seems like a plot picked out if a hat without considering some of the implications for the subtext of this kind of story. Factory produced stain.
Jessica Darling's It List (2016)
Watched it today and already can't remember one second
Everything about this movie (other than literally one transition in the beginning) was subpar to a painful degree. I'm not asking much, but just more than... THIS!?!!!
The Massively Mixed-Up Middle School Mystery (2015)
Completely devoid of joy

La montaña sagrada (1973)
Transcends film
Honestly I don't know what I can write here. The only true way to have a discourse about this film is to have visuals accompanying. Masterpiece and I can't wait to see El Topo.
Soul (2020)
Undoubtedly great, but not bulletproof.
It is important to talk about the great aspects before talking about the weaker ones. Jamie Foxx was really good and Tina Fey was... serviceable. The animation, of course, is masterful and the portrayal of New York is fantastic; it feels like the city has a life of its own. The musical sequences in this were very fun and the emotional beats, for the most part, hit well. The main problems I have with the movie are most of the second act as well as the climax of the film. To put it simply, and without spoilers, the second act felt messy and aimless in some places and the climax of the movie kind of fell flat, at least for me. The story didn't feel like it properly peaked, but just fizzled out. Overall a really well done movie, but not infallible.
Mank (2020)
Good technical quality, but lacking in the main character.
I am very split about this movie. On one hand it is a technical marvel and it is a pleasure to look at. Unfortunately, however, Herman Mankowitz is not that interesting of a character. The best part of the movie was the part where he felt like he was defeated (the GOP party scene), but this part was fleating in the grand scheme of things. I liked this film, but it really has its flaws.
