Daily life of Zhang contains laughter and tears
This story tells daily life of a Beijing blue-collar family, their life changes between five brothers and sisters whose big brother called Zhang Damin. If you don't understand Beijing local dialect, you may not immediately understand the humor of Zhang Damin's various Playful words, but when you press the pause button and think back carefully, you will feel his optimistic attitude. I have been impressed countless times by his sense of responsibility and humor. I also admire his flexibility. Some of his misconducts (even minor offenses) reminded me of Shameless (2011) .When climax erupts in the last episode, we will know what have been happened behind to all these original humor.
In almost each episode, I experienced the process of joy, laughter, tears and contemplation. Personally, I think this is a story that reflects the living conditions of the vast majority of ordinary Chinese. Compared with TV series filmed in China after the 2010s, this one is more authentic and credible.
Da ming feng hua (2019)
Surprised by Father-son relationship, compromise and more
This TV series surprised me by 3 things.
First of all, members of the emperor family are full of Atmosphere of ordinary life. They no longer just get along with the etiquette of monarchs and courtiers, and the younger generations will even call the emperor or other elders by "daddy and mother". In the first 10 episodes, I was moved to tears many times by the emperor's father love and responsibility for 3 sons. This emotional climax occurred when the old emperor summoned his three sons and grandsons to cry and bleed blood as an alliance. They reviewed each other's growth and identified interdependent relationships. Although the temptation of ultimate rights did not allow future generations to honour their promises, the family relationship in that short reunion completely showed that the face of a royal family is no different from that of ordinary people. It can be seen that the first big advantage of this series is the high-level royal family are all human beings, and everyone is the same.
Second, reconciliation. This episode dramatizes the slaughter caused by the overthrow of the regime in the history of the Ming Dynasty. When the old emperor met with the pursued emperor (his nephew), the pursued emperor was already a monk. He saw the gains and losses of life and was relieved of his political defeat. He eventually said, "Everyone can reconcile with their unbearable past." This view is incompatible with Hardliners who advocates of revenge or war, but it has to be said that it is a feasible solution. This reminds me of the TV series Lang ya bang (2015) which is also a story of political struggle and injustice. The two happened in different times and adopted different solutions in completely opposite directions. Both of these fictional stories have implications for today's Chinese society. How to deal with the historical tragedy deserves everyone's consideration. In addition, the monarch should win the hearts and minds of the people, and the social system is not only unique to the royal family, but should pay attention to the wishes of the people. These all make this series worthy of appreciation!
The shortcoming is that some actors and actress in the last 20 episodes are unable to perform in right place. For example, the old queen mother acted like a girl. The character's age was completely out of touch with the actor's own age and the makeup could not be improved or compensated. It would be even more perfect to replace some older actors.
Yin Fa Zhi Ming (2019)
Literacy of the rule of law
There may be some places in this TV series that are inconsistent with actual judicial common sense, but these can't hide its merits and representativeness.
First of all, "suspecting crimes from nothing" is an important core point of the film. This view may not be a fresh theory in the Western system of society, but there is still an acceptance process for the general public in China. The film reveals the phenomenon that frequently occurs in reality: the family of the victim takes it for granted that he is the murderer and demonstrates in public to exert pressure on the state organs.
Second, "reasonable doubt" is also an important concept. The film reflects the obedience education to parents and authority in Chinese family , which leads to the lack of doubtful courage and rationality when child grows up. Fortunately, the heroine is rebellious.
Finally, the film gave the audience enough optimism and spiritual support. Even if there have been any false and wrongful cases in history, these are historically limited. With the development of the times and the popularization of the rule of law, it will eventually improve. It teaches us that it takes time to establish a society ruled by law in China, and those who persist will eventually win the justice they deserve. Justice may be late, but it will never be absent!
Du li shi dai (1994)
A movie worth watching the second time
When I watched this movie for the first time, I felt that it was difficult to understand immediately; but when I finished watching it, I couldn't help but clap my hands, and I couldn't wait to watch it again.
I had to Said this is a very good movie. This movie is a bit similar to the "Lust Caution" directed by Ang Lee. It has many connotations, many details, and complicated characters. Through this movie we can see the anxiety of Taiwan after the rich up in 1970s-1980s which like various social phenomena in China now, so this film has strong foresight and practical significance. I have changed the stereotype of the Taiwanese who are also each trying to cheat or outwit the other, saying dirty words, and sophisticated as the Chinese.
Wu lin wai zhuan (2006)
Innovative form of satirical comedy
Known as the "Peace of Chinese Costumes Comedy", this TV series features imitation, satire and criticism of today's social phenomena through the daily stories of an ancient inn. The overall style is ridiculous and ironic.
For the first time, this TV series was handed over to the ancient plots with popular online buzzwords and various modern hot events. The bold attempts of the writers and directors gave the audience a refreshing experience, which was well received by the young Chinese audience, except for the conservative audience. Because of the large number of dialects used in the play, this is also a reason why viewers outside mainland China have difficulty understanding the effects of their comedy.
The entire TV series is full of positive energy and innovative.
Da Tang Xuan Zang (2016)
Dull and boring
The story is straightforward and lack of a sense of rhythm from beginning to the end. The leading actor Xiaoming Huang made me feel sleepy when he said the lines. Jin Luo and Kai Tan is the only two roles that can make me believe in, the other supporting roles were set as props, neither vitality nor personality. Therefore, the biggest drawback of this film is that the characters are shaped by very dull way.
Of course, the advantage of this film is the original music and photography technology. If you want to appreciate Buddhism scenic spot in India, if you like Tang dynasty costumes, and visit beautiful scenery of the silk road, all of these has been put in the movie.
Lang ya bang (2015)
A story about Seeking truth
It's a complicated story. Different audiences may see different key: loyalty, trickery, friendship, love, revenge, of course, a little bit of humor.
At beginning, I was attracted by its delicate and concise dress, calm and elegant slow lives. The characters' etiquette and the gave me a feeling of release pressure. Because of this, I fantasy I can live in ancient China.
But beneath the surface of slow tempo, undercurrent was terrible. As the story go, I felt the author's unprecedented courage. Original author Hai Yan (a female author, not that famous male entrepreneur also an author named Hai Yan) seems to convey a kind of the power of justice through this ancient Chinese story. Even if only to see her conception , the story and this series' art height is far more than those similar ones . In my opinion, previous produced ancient Chinese dramas just told audience what Chinese did and what they experienced, but in this series ,it seems to want to tell audience what Chinese should do in the future for seeking justice and truth.
An authoritarian government, the struggle of the two forces, a group of people full of justice, in order to a grievance of 13 years ago, finally, the leading role spoke out stirring line: "The purpose of review the case, just for the truth!" Yes, the truth! Even authoritarian Emperor Liang (Yongdai Ding played) refused to review the case because of various reasons , but in the end, he had to kneel down in front of the truth. His final confession is based on the goodness of human nature, I think it is the return of the family emotion cause. This kind of mood generated long before Mei Changsu (Ge Hu played) last stood in front of him. The most touching in this paragraph give me a chance to reflect: confession is the base of exposing truth and maybe result in seeking justice.
Of course, the process of seeking justice may be a very long time such as 13 years in this series, it takes patience, perseverance, teamwork and wisdom. The power of justice will be successful finally.

Why only give 3 stars?
The first star: environmental protection is the theme of the film. We lack of the idea of love for wild animals, how to live with wild animals in harmony is a difficult problem for all of us. It is worthy to explore the relationship between human and nature through comedy form. Unfortunately, the film only convey the idea a little bit, did not cause audiences think deeply about this idea. In other words, the theme of this film lack of depth.
The second star for all the efforts at director Stephen chow, but I have to say that many skills he used in the film is out of date. All stuffs he tried to make me laugh is also very low, which let me feel he is repeating his wits, but poor, no new ideas. For example, in order to cater to Chinese audiences' nostalgia on Hong Kong TV series, he used a piece of original music from the 1980s, but the music can only lead us excited for few seconds. In general, the script is very poor, unless you are a first time to watch Chow's movies, otherwise, you won't have any surprises. In other words, we may expect for Stephen Chow too high. Fortunately, former works directed by him are very good such as "Kung fu" is my favorite.
The third star for cast. Chao Deng is working very hard. The supporting actress Yuqi Zhang is very sexy. She is the best clothing model in the film. But the overall actors' perform level is amateur. "Kung fu" is my first time to see director Chow's work. Up to now in retrospect, many aspects of "Kung fu", such as special effects and actors' perform can make up for the inadequacy of the screenplay. Besides, all amateur actors in this film is very good coordination with professional actors, they can complement for each other and show characters is also very bright, which give us a lot of surprise. In comparison in this movie, amateur actors perform as if to take home video, there is also nothing special brilliant acting given by professional actors. More frightening is Yuqi Zhang's tone color, as if her throat covered with a layer of Kraft paper. When she read her lines screaming, I always feel suffocated.

Advantages & Disadvantages
Advantages: It has basic elements for adventure type film should be: a handsome leading role (Kun Chen), a wild beauty (Shu Qi), humour (Bo Huang & Yu Xia's roles), mystery and unknown whithin the story. It also reveals me that the human beings need to forget some obsession, in order to move further. In other words, to forget some pains, it may be the only chance to renew ourselves. Liu Xiaoqing is doing her best in this film. She dares to took a wig at the end, I think it is a challenge whether for her role, or for her own. You got it,right?
Disadvantages: Recently, I saw Angelababy in many films, really tired. The most important is that she is not the kind of beauty I like. Shu Qi's mandarin pronunciation is still really made me don't feel very well, especially when she was roaring.
Advantage & disadvantage
1, The character image is more mature.
In the animation image design, the film didn't use children's characters for leading roles, like Monkey King, make the characters more mature. The image of Monkey King and Pig Zhu Bajie are all adult who have a background of adult socialization, which is beneficial to the depth of the hero image, rather than the superficial adventures.
It is very distinctive that Villain the leading monster's face design for Sichuan Opera Face, and the leading monster's body feels elegant in the sky, I would like give him a name of "the beauty of evil".But after he become a big worm, disgusting, and the modeling of the worm, feel copying the image of the other films.
2, Technical level greatly ascend.
The mouth moving is more realistic; The background picture more rich layered.
1, The plot is weak.Writers had neither according to the novel, nor made innovation. The screenplay is only designed some abused poking fun which amused the audience once or twice. Even more worse, the focus is not prominent that the Monkey King turned into a hero of justice, slightly weak, it is not enough to convince me.
2, Poor continuity in action.Action before and after in a few action scene is not smooth, give me a feeling of unknown cause and effect.
3, Insert abrupt improper music. When the Monkey King, Pig Zhu Bajie, and Liu went alliance, background music style suddenly turned from the traditional Chinese opera into rock & roll, it appeared not harmonious.
Chuang ru zhe (2014)
A realistic style through the times
The film set a new record of the actor's age. There are at least 3 Aged actress: Zhong Lv is 75 years old, Ran-ran Li is 85 years old, Su Ying Huang is 96 years old. The three national actress quietly interpretation of what is called dedication.
The writers also broke through the past cultural revolution theme, who wrote the story from a new perspective on history. Not sensational, but still fully examine the influence of cruel history on a person's life. This effect may even continue for generations. It is a rare restraint of reflection in the way of a dramatic expression for the specific historical events.
The story also showed many details of current social reality, such as homosexuality, the shortage of resources in the aging society, etc.. This makes the film have a realistic style through the times.
Yue Yue (1986)
Concept of conflict
Concept of conflict, the market economy and the small peasant economy, the actress said she hope that the two lovers in one, perhaps this is not only hope to merge the roles' character, also suggests that hopes to merge the style of the social transformation, not aggressive, not to abandon the tradition.
The cast match the film so well, the performance is very accurate, and no extra acting skills. The scenery in the film can no longer reproduce for modernization.Music is very beautiful.
Overall, I feel the film was made very seriously and honest.
Bai Ling perhaps should self-reflection, her education background decided that she is not fit for sexy idol, she is suitable for the girl who close to her own character, cheerful, naive, with rustic ecru.
Tuan yuan (2010)
Time is gone, share the memories
Maybe I am older, have experienced accidents, close to death and had a lot of regrets in life, so this movie gives me a lot of mixed feelings. I think a few episodes below are the most memorable:
Old Mr Lu said: "I will NOT live for several years, too much money means nothing! " Mrs Yu'e said to Mr Yan Sheng when they farewell at the dock:" I don't know when I'll see you again since today's farewell. "
All these make me difficult to calm of mind and cry.
They three sat around dinner several times, all that matters to me.
They repeated references to the term "time", in Shanghai as saying "Guang Jing". Three of them live away from those happy times whey they were young, and finally got a short happy time at the end of life. The most beautiful scene, Mrs Yu'e sang a pop song of the old time which put back 50 years. Shanghai has been changed so fast, but the old time elegant and melody will stay in the memory forever.
As an audience, I am privileged to hear the three elderly actors' retro-style singing, and be shared the memories of the golden time of Shanghai.
Cai-gen Xu & Feng Ling's performance reserved and no lack of passions.
Lisa Lu is absolutely Lady Grace. Her rare singing voice, evokes the golden age of Shanghai. This scene reminds me of Rebecca Pan in Fa yeung nin wa (2000)
Xiaoqing Ma finally got the chance to go back on the big screen to show her acting skills, the role suits her very well, but director gave her space in this film is too small.
Monica Mo goes out of the shackles of femme fatale, shows a subtle and appropriate skill.
Hai tan (1984)
Profound meanings & Openness of film industry
"The sea here Not allowed leaving dirt!" This sentence implies that the profound meaning in this film and thus giving rise to the story, The setting sun, the beach, a team of living here for generations who catch fish with the vertical nets, really amazing.
Here are some important things the director and writer hope to tell us in this story: (1) Contradictions between industrialization model and traditional life styles, (2) hidden costs when people pursue the common Urbanization values. Maybe it have a subtle change as we seek to find a balance, we have to give up a lot of gifts of God to achieve modernization.
The issues such as Ecological deterioration, lack of institutionalized trial, the concept of the shackles of marriage among the fetters of urban and rural young people, which were explored in this film also confused us until today in China¡¯s society.
Cast and crew such as Changwei Gu, Tan Dun, Ling Bai and words "Electronic Music Lab of China" appeared in credits list also shows the film's unique and forward-looking ¡§Cit did more than expected in my opinion.
In whole, good film director & screenwriter of this film revealed the expression of personal views were respected before 1989 in China. I Really feel the openness of the film industry was much larger than the present, just like other 80's Chinese movies. Absolutely worth watching it!
Hong lou meng (2010)
The TV series is re-produced version after the same titled version in 1987. Compared to the old version, this one has the following advantages and disadvantages:
1.One of the biggest advantages. Props such as cups, cabinets, jades and crown are very delicate in this series, it can be seen most of the costs spent on the props area.
2. More complete performance of the original content. The length of the TV series is more abundant than the old version, so it can put more detail onto the screen according to original novel.
1. The most fatal shortcoming. Original novel written by Xueqin Cao is the representative of ancient tragedy of all-time in China, but this screenplay did not demonstrate the original spirit in the second half (after 40 episodes), although that part was continue written by many people instead of Mr Cao himself.
2.The cast of main roles is not particularly appropriate. For example, Lin Daiyu (played by Mengjie Jiang) and Xue Baochai (played by Qin Li) should be swap, because Lin looks thin while Xue looks fat in the original novel. If Jia's Grandma played by Linlang Ye instead of Tsai Chin may be better because Ye looks a woman in rich state not from county. Tsai Chin worked very seriously, and fully demonstrates what a noble offspring should be. Unfortunately, maybe heavy decorations on her wigs affected her performance, result in I always feel that many of her head shows did not perform perfectly in place. Besides, she also spoke in very slow rate, it seems it is not easy to read lines in Mandarin for her .
3.Many supporting roles, such as Jia Zheng's concubine Aunt Zhao, Jia Baoyu's Attendant Ming Yan, maids, female cooks in Jia's family played much better than main roles. 4.All of female main roles' hair was made as actress' hair in Peking opera, their clothes are too luxurious which lead the whole making-up not enough realistic - perhaps that is the director's pursuit, but I could not able to accept in personal view. By contrast, the characters' appearance and clothing in 1987's version are more pragmatic, not impressionistic and abstract.
Summary: This series spent more energy on the external form, not content and original spirit. Two of Mishap, the failure of the casting and adaptation in latter part which weaken tragic consequence lead it could NOT go beyond the 1987's version.
Wutai Jiemei (2007)
The series tells a bitterness story about Shaoxing opera actresses living in Shanghai in 1930s with ups and downs script and well-made dramatic conflict. The writers gave a structural integrity and very appropriate the rhythm in the whole story. The most acclaimed is the casting, every actor fully show their acting skills, making each role a clear personality full of a unique human nature which can convinced audiences, such as upstanding (Ting Mei), full of charm (Saifei He), cunning (Chengru Li), flattering (Guobin Zhou) etc. Besides, I was most fascinated by actresses' refined Shanghai-style dress and their euphemism opera singing and performances on old-fashioned stage - it is really the ultimate rich in aesthetic elegance and never come back in today's China mainland. I rate it 7 down from 8 when underground Communist (Jie Liu) started stiff rigid, inflexible political propaganda. I feel a tremendous nausea when I heard "smash this old evil world" again and again. Yes, they did it, but they also smashed those wonderful melodies and lifestyle. I think writers have to make this story less capitalization in order to meet some unwritten rules in Communist China by creating these unpleasant roles and ironical lines. Dying or betrayal from old China, then the story will be "safe", as if this is reality in history. This drama is still worth careful taste aside of these offensive roles and ideology.
Lao Wu de Aosika (2009)
Inferior quality of imitation
This Film began to imitate Stephen Chow's "does not make sense" style from the first scene, a lot of sections have very serious imitation traces, but the director failed to learn Chow's meaning, just to repeat some superficial techniques, and Even Worse, actors can only mechanically imitate some long outdated gimmicks.
In my opinion, Qiang Li (act Wang Lao Wu) and Zongwan Wei (act as Wang's father in law) who have good qualities of acting in Mang jing (2003) and "San guo yan yi" (1995) separately have been guided to produce very low energy, they wasted their talent for this film which is relatively mediocre in the entire script, that making the film looks like a student's homework.
