Totally Awesome!!!
23 January 2020
This totally awesome film gets high ratings from this gal. Joaquin Phoenix is completely into his role, superb acting. Jack Black, Jonah Hill, Tony Greenhand and all the others were also great. This is the perfect film to be recommended for those who are alcoholics, recoveries, or especially those who may be headed in that direction. Fabulous direction from Gus Van Sant.

An absolute must see!!!
16 September 2019
This is one of the most beautiful, sexy, exhilarating movies of all time. If you are one of the few people on this planet whose never seen this film.... Well my friend this one is "An Absolute Must See"! It is pretty risquรฉ, no complete nudity, it's just as it's title suggests.... "Dirty Dancing" there are a couple of bedroom scenes but they are covered. The story line isn't particularly good for anyone under the age of 16yrs old.

OH MY GOSH!!!
3 August 2019
This movie was heart warming and beautiful. I can't believe I never knew about this film years ago. I'm a big fan of Bruce Greenwood. And I've watched Melissa Gilbert ever since "Little House on the Prairie". My heart was breaking about half way through . What a truly wonderful storyline. I recommend this film to all those who love a really good romanic movie; especially one with a heavenly twist.

Excellent!!

This movie wasn't what I expected... However, I was quite pleasantly surprised! Will watch again, maybe 2-3 times. It's that type of movie that where you learn something, gain an awareness, maybe even something about yourself every time you see it.

Worth watching
28 February 2019
After reading numerous reviews of such completely different ideas, I had to watch this one to form my own opinions. Being a long time movie buff myself I can understand the other people's views. However I completely differ with most of those opinions. It does start out a bit slow. But I thought the acting was good especially the little girl, who was quite believable for a 5 year old in such a devastatingly emotional part. The ending is a completely surprise! It's worth a watch. Get your own opinions.

Very sweet movie... don't listen to bad reviews!!
25 February 2019
I read several reviews before I watched the movie. Which was actually my encouragement to watch the movie. After reading so many bad reviews and only a couple good ones... I had to gather my own perspective. So, here it is.... Personally I thought it was a really sweet movie. The Circus Director and his side kick bring a bit of darkness to the movie. Might be a bit scary for little ones, let's say 5 yrs old and under. Just perfect for ages 6-12 yrs old. As a grandparent I would suggest if you are going to have younger children watching, maybe the adult should watch it first, then gage from there if it's something your particular child would be up to watching. However, I could be overreacting, because it's no more scary than the Wizard of OZ. *** on a more personal note....
  • Some of the other reviewers said that the acting was bad. I have to disagree with that completely.
  • I really liked the movie. Enjoyed seeing Shirley MacLaine in her Cameo part. Especially at the ending.
  • We are all entitled to our opinions... But I think the movie deserves more credit than it has received. I thought the acting was pretty good, the cast seemed to work together quite well. You would never guess that it was a lower budget film. The wardrobe, scenery and props, etc... were superb.
  • The character "Cam" played by William Moseley reminded my of "John-Boy" on the Waltons TV show, which was played by Richard Thomas. They were both writers, dressed alike and even had a similar look and mannerisms about them.
** Well overall I personally found the movie to be an "8" out of 10. Was it an adult movie? Geared a little more towards the older person, yes. But it also has NO foul language and NO inappropriate actions or innuendos. So it is completely safe for a young child to watch.. other than the little bit of scary parts. Which isn't really that scary. * As I said earlier, I read a bunch of reviews before watching. For me the bad reviews only made me more curious to form my own opinions. So my advice is to not pay any mind to those awful reviews. Especially if you are a real movie buff, such as myself. Gather your own opinions. Watch and enjoy!

A Must See.....!!!!
14 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Beautifully acted... of course, you wouldn't expect anything less from this trio, Richard Dreyfus, Chevy Chase, and Andre MacDowell. This movie is a must see for anyone who is over the age of 60, giving up on life, has been diagnosed with a life threatening disease, or has a friend or family member who fits one of these situations. So that includes almost everyone. The movie is hilarious as well as moving. It also highlights why some people facing life threatening situations or end of life expectancy might make, what would seem to you as, rash decisions. Watch this movie to learn and understand why and possibly how to deal with it. There is nothing morbid about this movie whatsoever. Are you kidding me?? With Chevy Chase and Richard Dreyfus at the helm? No, it is uniquely designed. Rather it is quite interesting and funny. Watch and enjoy!

Heart Warming!!
26 December 2018
Beautifully done! This movie is one for your Christmas collection. I had never forgotten this movie over the years. When I found it was available on DVD I had to buy it. Me and my grandson watch it together 3-4 time each Christmas Season. It's one of the most charming Christmas movies I've ever seen. It teaches us what Christmas is really all about... friends, family, and coming together to help a neighbor if need be! Plus this little town has a little light hearted mystique too, including Santa Claus! It is absolutely a must see film for the whole family.

Wonderful Heart Warmer!! Love love love
17 December 2018
A Beautiful Christmas movie for the whole family. A wonderful loving heart felt movie showing what it's to come together as a family to make things happen. Also shows how one person in charge has to think about everyone involved not just themselves when making a decision that affects them all. It's a great movie. Has become one of my absolute favorites. I can't go without seeing it every Christmas at least once. Probably 3-4 times!

Superbly performed
14 December 2018
Albert Finney is absolutely marvelous as Ebenezer Scrooge! Actually all the actors in this film are wonderful, even they children; especially tiny Tim. All the actors really have chemistry. This is truly the best Scrooge movie (in my opinion, of course) that I have ever seen. And I don't think I've missed any of those in the mainstream since the old b&w 1935 (?) version. This one is truly very very good! And it's a musical, which adds to its ambiance. Watch and enjoy!!

Sweetheart of a Movie
6 December 2018
This one is a wonderful gift of 'True Love' at Christmas! I didn't think I was going to like it at first... a little too cynical for me in the beginning. However, unexpected transformations happen to brighten the mood and bring a little holiday cheer to the season of Love, Joy, and Happiness!! * A must see for those of you who are Hallmark Christmas fans. Enjoy, and Merry Christmas!!

A Miracle Indeed!!
25 November 2018
It's a heart warmer for the whole family. Worthy of popcorn and hot cocoa, and don't forget the marshmallows. You'll wanna be ready because this one is gonna be good! Ok it starts out slow, then it's a bit heart wrenching before it really starts getting good. But it is well worth the viewing by the whole family and I do mean the whole family. Especially if the family is going through some hardships of any kind. Be it good bad or indifferent. Just watch and enjoy!!

Charming
13 November 2018
Very cute movie even for Grams!! I was hooked from the beginning. Personally I think the title could have been a bit catchier. My grandson has tried to get me to watch this movie for a few years now. I just thought it was some sort of twist on a holiday gangster movie using Santa as the culprit. ** my discovery? -->> NOT AT All !! Finally in November 2018 I watched it for the first time. And it was really cute. Santa in fact, continues to reinforce various characters throughout the movie, as well as the screen viewers believability in the magic of Christmas. It's a must see for just about any Christmas movie buff. Except I will have to say that it's not really suitable for younger children, probably 7yrs old and under.

Excellent movie
10 November 2018
Completely enthralling!!! Especially if you are interested in Time Travel or Quantum Physics. The actors, directors and producers are superb. Also this movie was made during tough times. Yet rose to international fame and eventually created the "insite" group in 1990... meaning, the 'International Network of Somewhere in Time Enthusiasts'. Check out the interesting phenomenon at somewhereintime.tv. Enjoy!

Absolutely Hilarious
28 October 2018
This is a beautifully eclectic script. Marvelously written to depict the real life issues that are faced by so many Americans in today's world. Includes an amazing cast of fabulous actors and actresses. They truly couldn't have chosen a better group of people to play such characters. They all have wonderful chemistry. Especially Fonda and Tomlin. However I really cannot end this without mentioning the incredible connection between Sheen and Waterston; very modern and open minded script for them. This show is so addicting, as many others have said, I too have binge watching days. I will watch all the seasons and then start them over again from the beginning. It is so much fun I never get tired of it. I just wish they would put out two seasons a year and more episodes in each season. Looking forward to the next one.

Absolutely Fabulous!!!
23 October 2018
This film captivated me from the beginning and held me all the way to the end. Bravo.. Bravo.. Bravo!! ๐Ÿ‘ Originally I had this movie saved in my watch list for several weeks. Not knowing why I kept passing it by. I love Pierce Brosnan in every movie I have seen him in. Partly I think I couldn't imagine an Englishman playing the part of an authentic Native American. However he did prove to be outstanding in this film. For all you philanthropists, naturalists, conservationists, ecologists, or any back woodsy types will surely find this movie fascinating. There's a surprise in the ending. So... Keep in mind... "The end justifies the whole purpose of the movie". In other words, the end truly does justify the means. Watch and enjoy๐Ÿ˜Š Namaste' ๐Ÿ•‰

Most Powerful Film I've Ever Seen
4 February 2017
* There is a possible spoiler to anyone who, by some fluke, never heard the stories of the holocaust. Nothing specific, just the overall basis for the film. More of a synopsis.

Once again Steven Spielberg has created a master piece. However, I do believe this one is his greatest work. Or at least among the greatest. Absolutely the most Powerfully Moving and Thought Provoking Film I personally have ever seen. Certainly, I do not stand alone in that statement. It is my observed opinion that a great many others will agree with me. In my opinion, Steven Spielberg is undeniably the greatest filmmaker, director, producer of all time.

When this film first came out in theatre's across the country; everyone was talking about it, everyday. I quickly realized that this film was a must see for me. In Schindler's List (1993), Steven Spielberg spawns world wide interest in one man's Heroic acts of humanitarianism... while recreating the most horrifying historical events ever known. Thousands upon thousands of people's lives were at stake. Schindler (Ironically, a member of the Nazi Party), putting his own life in danger, becomes the peoples hope for any possible future. Ultimately, Schindler heroically saves some 1,200 Jewish lives. No comparison to the shocking new evidence that claims Nazi's killed up to 20 million people. Truly a must see for everyone. I am not Jewish. But I do tend to feel strongly for other peoples pain. This film provoked a Bleeding Heart in me. I have since seen this film about 2-3 other times. Every time, this film causes a heart wrenching pain down deep in my soul.

Hear this warning! This film is deeply emotional and thought provoking, a heart wrenching like never before. The horrific acts perpetrated upon the Jewish people during this historic era is absolutely, completely, and undeniably the worst crime in the history of the planet. If you are among the younger society, this film may leave you feeling like this was far too horrible; that you can't imagine it is actually real, that these events never really happened or that it was in some way fabricated. Well, Let me tell you my friend.... it did happen and it was a very real event; an historical stain on our civilization.

Be sure to have some tissue available. Because this one is a tear. This is a beautifully crafted film. Partly in black and white, bringing more realism in this the film. Watch and enjoy! jerker.
