Great Romanians: Stefan cel Mare (2006)
Season Unknown, Episode Unknown
nice
2 July 2020
Not the worst, not the best episode of serie. Only a nice try, supperficial in many aspects, childish in other, having as axis the enthusiasm of Vlad Craioveanu who seems more interpreter of Stefan cel Mare than the presenter of docu-drama. But the result remains a decent one and , except the too pathetic end, it is just a decent job.

a mother

You love its simplicity. A mother cutting vegetables. Her daughter sleeping. The door and the clue changing everything. It is a beautiful short horror first for the admirable cinematography. Second - for the fine portrait of mother. Not the last - for sound. An admirable definition of quarantine.

Its basic virtue - you feel it more than a love song. It can be a sort of webb of nostalgia. Passing time, round words, old feelings. And the You could be. Portrait of a state, seductive for large shadows and precious details.

fascinating

One of short animation for who Whoau seems enough. Because the story is an embroidery of different pieces and not the explanations are useful in this case. A miner, a blue stone, a fall and an exotic creature becoming thief and a statue, reminding one from Eastern Island , rememoring stories about alien civilizations . Two gifts. A beautiful animation, a charming result. And the fairy tale atmosphere.

wise

Fair is to define it as beautiful. But the precise word remains wise. It is a superb example of the wise use of technology. And that , near the inspired-amusing-seductive story makes it real special. A beautiful film about a woman seductive a god. The dance as gift. And as struggle. With a delicate - touching -gentle result.

For many reasons, more than a beautiful song. Or a nostalgic video. But one tales who can be proposed only by Leonard Cohen. And that is the only significant thing - to remind, to be present in your relation, to be yourself and to live your life as a state of pure miracle. Short, just a tale with high virtues of high incantation. About happiness more about love.

profound honest
30 June 2020
At the firat sigh, a comfortable film. Because you know the story, because Robert Wilson has experience of his role in some other films, because , after so many adaptations of the Gospels, nothing can be new in 2020, from a movie made in 1954. But , it has few great virtues. The first is honesty. It is a profound honest film, not looking for easy solutions or to impress but for rebirth the faith and consolidate it. It is well acted, too, giving a real realistic Pilate of Pont, an interesting webb frame for well known events . It is provocative in the sense of remind the pieces defining the faith and the illusion to controll the other. And it has an inspired intro. So, just beautiful.

An intense story about motherhood and poverty and radical gestures. Admirable performance of Michelle McMahon. And the fair sensation of the viewer to be part of story .

So many reasons to love it... From the instability of pants to the curiosity and pitty, to the help of animals to the terrible run. And, off course, the beautiful end. A splendid irony gives the precious spice to this admirable short animation, unique for the inspired way to give the essence of childhood.

A nice animation about a little mouse seduced by the fly, looking to be like birds, using the simple tools for its dream becoming reality and learning about the need to be himself. The fairy is the good and bad piece in this piece, seeming one of characters for other type of Disney movies but representing decent drop of magic. Short, just nice.

A simple story about forbidden love between step siblings. Tensions, tender moments, humor and arguings. The most important - the charm of the young lead actors and, in part, the cinematography.

It is so...Russsian. It is the first conclusion, based not only to the status of adaptation of Gogol work but for entire atmosphere. Good performances, nice atmosphere and the fair music. A film about nightmare, a not inspired investition, a young man haunted by the man from a painting and something reminding not the Gothic literature but just Russian image of irationality.

The basic virtue - the innocence. It is a very early short horrors using the theme of haunted house and using it in admirable manner, reminding german dark old tales, giving anthological scenes and an admirable end. And, sure, not ignoring the humor. Short, just delightful. Fascinating, for the resurrection of childhood thrills, in same measure.

Maybe, I am too conservative . But this short fil, giving a slice of near reality, was, for me, more than a dark comedy about an unlucky hitman, few young Youtubers, a failled mission and the precise punishment for the huge mistake. A collision of worlds- that presents this real well crafted short film. And the conclusion is very, very bitter. As a sort of warning.

great work
28 June 2020
One of films who you do not know what to admire. For cast ? For acting? For status of testimony about a dark time ? For the status of manifesto / For Cranston work ? Each of them is just brilliant. It is a great film for so many other motifs than is difficult and almost unfair to define it. Short - a film who you must see.

It is a story who you feel, scene by scene, in profound way. It becomes personal. It is admirable crafted and impressive acted. And it is alive, not a case, not a sad love story. But just pure life. To say more is difficult not exactly for the fear about spoilers but because , like a sort of liquid , it moves in yourself. A liquid of states , emotions, truths and levels of a powerful and unique connection. It is easy and fair to define it as a beautiful story of love, or inspired - precise chronicle, to admire the role of actors in secondary roles or to see it again.knowing than it is more. Yes,no doubts, it is real important is to see it.Just for feel it.

It is a good use of french absurd humor recipe. Dominique Langlais as the rich, selfish man, Matthieu Pillard as a sort of Pierrot are the basic piece of this black comedy about housing crisis, money, need of desire, reserves of beer and yoghourt , a cow, a rabbit and a sort of mistress. And , sure, moving walls. Ironic and seductive.

Heartbreaking story, in essence only a delicate sketch of it, but working more than well as portrait of , at the first sigh, not ordinary friendship. Nice at whole, it reminds old precious memories about objects, accidents and magnificent discoveries or dreams to the viewer.

It is one of films seductive only for the acting. The story seems only a pretext or a frame for beautiful work of Nat Martin, Charlton Heston, Peter Strauss . And it is enough. You discover a nice family story, not convincing but decent and so melodramatic for be good support for remind the past roles of each actor. And, for the part of viewers, the fight scene is just good present .

Nice idea. Creepy result. The music saves part of story but the bump remains so bizarre and the development of story so absurde than it is real difficult to applaude a very short animation who seems eulogy to self cruelty.

good episode
27 June 2020
A good episode from Mari romani series. Keeping the mark of Alexandru Solomon, it is a correct , precise history lesson. But something is missing. I do not know what. Maybe, Sanda Pralong is not the best option for tell a great story of modernisation of Romania. Maybe, my expectations about the longest and richful reign in the Romanian history were too, too high. But it is a good episode, no doubts. And this portrait of Carol I of Hohenzolern- Sigmaringen, the first king of Romania, artisan of its modernisation, independence and construction of the status of regional power in the balkanic wars is profound useful for present and to remind.
