beautiful
23 October 2019
A not comfortable film. But hopful, delicate crafted, beautiful acted. A film about loneliness or depression or high need of the other. Simple and precise message , realistic portrait of many contemporary lives and something escaping to definitions, verdicts, opinions. A film remembering the work of Ingmar Bergman. And giving a great dose of vision about what defines it , out of ordinary everyday death thoughts.

A dark comedy about the fear - superstition of a young script reader , a not usual - but bad - script and the talk with his best girlfriend. And sure, the precise answer to whole problem. A seductive, for bitter humor, comedy and, for this status, the final smile has a significant "guilt".

a game

A well made horror. A guy, a strange building, a bug and a key. And the beast. Again and again. In neverending confrontation. The end gives to it the status of parable. About reality and fiction. About loneliness and a library. And about the last game .

the second Maleficent
22 October 2019
The first film was fascinating for new idea , for the status of beginning for Angelina Jolie in a role who seems be perfect for her , for the game of apparences and for humor. The second Maleficent seems be the victim of special effects and it is saved by the clash between Jolie and Pheiffer. Sure, dynamic, powerful, seductive, dark and energetic. A nice film. Maybe more intense for an ager like me.

pure entertainment

Like each similar formats, pure entertainment. Seductive, fascinating, charming. For many small reasons. In interesting manner. Fair jury, few fascinating artistic shows - David Pereira remains, in my case, the favorit-, a great portrait of skills and humor and talent and hard work. So, pure entertainment.

Almost surprising. A young director reflecting in splendid manner something who seems out of words. Exploring the movements of body. Using each nuance, gesture - the scenes of hands or line - up are more than magnificent - for give a portrait of a special coming up, with each steps of tension, desire and need to be yourself. Short, a little gem.

nice

Nice is not the most inspired term but the film represents exactly a nice try. And the only problem is the effort of director to give more. Two young guy, teenager competitions, a night and few fists of cliches. The erotism saves it because the story is absent. Sure, it is not exactly a bad film but only , for too subjectives motives, only nice. Without story, almost without actors.

The Medic (2011)
good intentions
21 October 2019
It seems be a definition of war, ignoring the differences, proposing solidarity as measure. A beautiful film , more emotional than remarkable, using themes and images well known. And, maybe, this is its basic sin- the emotion is all in its case. But it do not works in great manner always. In my case, the good intentions of director represents the best part. But the message, so often used, is too fragile. The gesture of German Private to protect the French medic seems unrealistic , like the survive of the last. But, sure, "The Medic" has its admirers.

great work
21 October 2019
It is one of short war films who I love in profound sense. For the wise manner to use difficult themes, for performance, for shocking end who seems predictable but remains strange, for great message and for the feeling to discover an old parable about the contain of ages, fundamental choices and faith. The photography is great, like the beautiful dialogue. A film who deserves to see it maybe twice. Not for understand the so simple story but for discover the sense of time, war, childhood and the significance of a pocket watch or a poem covered by blood.

memento moris
21 October 2019
After many films and perspectives about American Civil War, this film propose a sort of window to the essence of fights, history and war itself. Poetic, precise, interesting, seductive. And bitter, off course. The star seems be the Death. In fact, it is the viewer. His choices, his options, his life. A great short film. As new memento moris.

beautiful

Maybe, the craft is more important, in this case, than the story itself. A shy girl. Two young women too atracted by sex interests. A knife . A car crash and a cimetery . And the answer of an ambiguous situation. Short, just a beautiful short horror.

special
20 October 2019
This special has as source the sensuality. The poetry of body forms. The photography. The sketch of a story. Seductive, fresh and delicate-savage. The end of an relation and the intensity of desire. The emotion. And something escaping to every definition. Inspired performances and traces of Impressionism. So, just special.

brotherhood
20 October 2019
A short film about brotherhood. So simple and well acted and precise and touching than it becomes, scene by scene, a sketch, drawing and portrait of deep feelings defining, in time of war, people and create gestures. A film about vulnerability and, sure, about brotherhood.

a soldier
20 October 2019
A film about a soldier , a yellow apple and the enemy. Reminding "The Others", it has the virtue to be not only well crafted but to use, in fine way, the suposition of the viewer about events . Not great, but more than nice.

a gem
20 October 2019
One of films about death, fear, fundamental options and the ambiguity of status. A young Private. An Officer and his nostalgia about hunting. And the Eastern front. Psychological pressure for a mission and the brutal expression of authority. Russian prisoners and the hunt in dark terms. The decision of the young man. A ritual and the symbol reminding cold poetry of great dramas. The forest is the most significant piece. Short, just a gem.

beautiful

Seductive for photography , for charming story about a not ordinary friendship, for music and for the soft poetry of beginnings. Easy to ignore the mistakes or unrealism or the frame of a great too idilic picture. But nice, more than nice.

A correct short horror. Two teenagers. A presence. Knocks in the door and broken glass. And the phone bell. Again and again. A film about obscure menaces and friendship, using a familiar recipe.

admirable

A young woman on beach , collecting garbage. Another - far by her. Something reminding seagrass. But being more different by any expectation. And the key of story. Film of a state, wise crafted, so short but great in each detail, "Seagrass" is just a real, real good work.

A simple horror - maybe too simple - with a precise effect. A girl in a wooden room. Phone texting. A window and something who can be a mask. And the revelation. Well crafted, giving the right expected thrill, good first for atmosphere.

Sorry Angel (2018)
a story
19 October 2019
Maybe, the fundamental virtue of film is to demonstrate nothing. It is only a story about relationship, about choices, love, life, happiness and fall. Not for impress, not for be manifesto, it seems more a sort of confession to the viewer and invitation to discover, from other perspective, the life.

vulnerability
19 October 2019
An inspired drama about the vulnerability of the children and teenagers. About a superhero, a dog , a boy and a teenager. About reality in clash against the fiction. About fears, accusation and about a form of truth. Short, a splendid exploration of a delicate zone.

The bottom of a well. Two men and their stories so different than each seems be the only credible one. A surprising end. Nice embrodery of tension. Beautiful performances. And a story about reality in subtle - precise terms. A film great for atmosphere and for the science of detail.

...is the basic trait of this film about murder. A film about crime as cure against frustrations, about loneliness and about relations, about love in bizarre form and about escape from yourself. A film in which the evil has too many nuances to define it in simplistic terms. Great performances and the dark atmosphere. And Tom Towles giving a special vulnerable guy , Tracy Arnold proposing a role reminding Tennessee Williams character and, sure, Michael Rooker as the impeccable Henry.

about childhood
18 October 2019
The basic virtue of this short horror is to remind old fears of each viewer. Closed doors, protective pets, monsters. And the return representing the new beginning. A film about a terrible and profound confrontation. Or , just a new level of a never ending war. Inspired crafted, great dialogue and performances, a lot of meanings. And the not so surprising end.
