Great Performances: Les Misérables in Concert (1995)
Pure Magic
They don't call this the dream cast for nothing. The story and score are so wonderfully produced here. Colm Wilkinson as Jean ValJean is legendary. Few can really come close to Wilkinson's portrayal of the lead role. He shows a wide array of emotion in all of his songs.
Other cast members (in no specific order): Philip Quast as Javert is fantastic, he plays the role so convincingly, one of a few that I've seen do so. "Stars," "The Confrontation" and "Javert's Suicide" were flawless on his part. Jenny Galloway as Madame Thenardier is flawless, her singing, acting, and accent make the role special. In conclusion, Quast and Galloway were my favorite parts of the show. As Galloway's stage husband, Alun Armstrong brings a convincing menace to Thenardier during "Master of the House." Michael Ball and Judy Kuhn are the best ever as the lovers Marius and Cosette. "A Heart Full of Love" is song beautifully. Lea Salonga as Eponine is great, "On My Own" is spectacular. Ruthie Henshall as Fantine is heartbreaking, "I Dreamed a Dream" and "Fantine's Death" are perfect. Michael Maguire as Enjolras wasn't terrible, but seemed a little too demanding for a student at times.
Other minor characters: Hannah Chick (Young Cosette) and Adam Searles (Gavroche) did good. So did the ABC Friends. Great job overall!
Zoey 101 (2005)
Seriously Underrated
I simply cannot understand why people dislike this show so much. It's a great show with wonderful acting. Granted, Austin Butler is annoying and his character, James, is totally pointless. He is Zoey's boyfriend in Season 4, despite the audience knowing Zoey's feelings for Chase, and considering that James and Zoey dating for a grand total of 8 episodes. Also, while I agree that Pacific Coast Acadamey is highly unrealistic, that just adds to the excitement. I would love to go to a school with decent food, large dorms and lounges, and nice teachers. Another thing that I want to say is that a lot of people on this site are hating Jamie Lynn Spears' portrayal of Zoey, that she's a weak actress and that she only got in due to her celeberity connections. I, for one, think she's good. Most of the supporting cast was good too, especially Victoria, Erin, and Chris. I encourage people to give people a shot.
The Middle (2009)
The BEST Show
I love this show. I have watched every episode since it started. Seasons 1-4 were always great. Season 5 was fine, with mostly average episodes, but Season 6 was the best with great new and original episodes each week. Each storyline was unique. It's no wonder that it is returning for a seventh season. Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn are always on par, as are their three kids, portrayed by Charlie McDermott, Eden Sher, and Atticus Shaffer. Their salaries are locked and loaded, so they could easily slack off, but they never do! There are so many things to look forward to in the next season (Sue at college, Axl/Brick relationships with Devin/Cindy, and possible advancements with Frankie's work). I look forward to the next season.
Fiddler on the Roof (1971)
If I Were A Rich Man...
...I would watch this every day. And, I do watch it a lot. It is an amazing musical and my personal favorite. Topol is fantastic! While i admit the ending is sad (when they leave Anatevka), it is totally realistic. The songs are amazing, and I listen to them all the time. "Tradition' is my favorite, but there are other good ones as well. The movie is really long, over three hours, so you will need to set aside time to watch it. It probably doesn't need to be as long, but that is my only complaint, What a great movie! Totally worth watching in my opinion. If you get the chance, watch it. Believe me you won't be sorry.
Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn (2014)
Mixed Feelings
This show isn't TERRIBLE, but it's not great either. There are certain things that I don't like about it. I can't look at the kid that plays Dicky, plus he is super annoying. I can't stand Ricky, mainly because he thinks that he's SO PERFECT just because he's smart. We get it, you're intelligent! And their father is a moron, and just plain annoying. The other kids and the mother are fine, but not perfect. I hope that for season 2 (good god, why?) that the scriptwriters come up with better plot lines. Season 1's episodes were just boring, and the plots never went anywhere. In conclusion, I really see no future for this show. Hopefully it will stop after 2 seasons, because that's all it rally needs. I mean really.
