A man walks on a street with a box. He stops in front of a house and looks back on his childhood. When he was young, he met a girl. She seems to be a Jew and run away from the German soldier. She gave a doll of a unicorn to him but he was a member o the Germany soldiers so he must catch her. When the German soldier approached her, he protected her and allowed her to run away. The German soldiers know his action so they slapped his face and crushed the doll under foot. After he remembers that, he decides to leave from the house. When I was a junior high school student, I studied about the persecution of the Jews so I know the persecution is very miserable. I think that he was a member of the German soldiers and took part in the persecution so he is worried if he should meet her or not, His action tells me his feeling that wavers between a guilty feeling that he took part in the persecution and a feeling that he wants to see her again. His action show a waving human's feelings well.

A old man is in a bus and speaks to a girl sitting on a next seat but she shows no interest in him. He gets to a factory where he worked in the past. He speaks this former colleagues but they refuse to deal with him. He comes back home and he calls someone who don't know him to get a partner to speak. Then, a girl who propagates religion visits him. He is glad to get the partner to speak to. However, she tries to leave. I think the situation in this film resembles a problem of dying alone Japan. In Japan old people die alone and many times pass because nobody notices that they are dead. I think dying alone is caused by a lack of a relation to people. This film tells me that it is very difficult to keep the relation but that is the most important thing to live.

A man is on a bridge. There are a lot of soldier with a gun around him. his arms and legs are tied and his head is in a noose. He remembers his family but he is dropped from the bridge. Fortunately, the rope snaps and he drops into the river. He unites the rope and swims to run away from shooting. He gets to a riverbank and runs in a forest. Finally, he arrives at a gate of a house where his family wait for him. I'm impressed by his action because he shows his feeling very well without lines. When he is on the bridge, his face tells me his fear and uneasiness. When he gets to the riverbank, his acting tells me his exceptional delight. I think it is difficult to show feelings without lines.

A young man lives in a house with his father and mother. The young man sees a girl who runs about and plays with a bird through a window. At night, his father and mother seem strange. They are a mechanical father and mother. He winds a spring of them and they start to move as usual. When he sees the girl again through the window, she brings a dead body of a bird and builds a tomb for the bird. He digs up the dead body and comes back home. He tries to make a mechanical bird and gives it to her. In the film, every characters moves strangely. I think people wonder why characters move strangely and people gradually come in a view of the unique world in this film. I like the weird and comical world.

Five high school students go to school on a holiday as a punishment. They have a different characteristic such as a sportsman, a genius, a bad boy, a princess and a mysterious girl. They don't have a common point but they talk and complain about their parents with each other. They gradually open up to each other and each students think about who am I. When I was a high school student, I belonged to a basketball club. There are various kinds of player in the club. As a result, a conflict among the players sometimes happened and each time we talked to each other for a long time and we could open up to each other. Finally, our team got a strong union. When I watched this movie, I remembered a frame of my youth.
