This new Sci-fi series isn't bad, It's Horrendously Horrible.
'Pandora' 2/10 🌠🌠 = ABANDON
The funny thing about this new series 'Pandora' is the second it begins you instantly realize you made a wrong turn headed straight for trashville. Somehow though after seeing the lead actress is kinda cute you may end up watching all of the first episode as I did trying to envision just how bad can it really get, Well it's safe to say this Sci-fi show has a black worm hole as a bottom. The music, Special effects, Acting, Storyline, Pace and action sequences as a collected group are some of the worst production hack jobs & performances I've seen in a long time. The scariest thing about it being so corny is the show is actually taking itself seriously.. I love Sci-fi so I gave it a try but it's like watching an aerodynamic bullet train doing 200mph on a track that's headed for a brick wall, You may watch it for a minute but it quickly turns ugly and you watched it even though you knew it wouldn't end well. My rating is a resounding 2 which equals ABANDON.
They're Inside (2019)
A terribly worthless film with horrendously poor execution.
'They're Inside' (2019)
2/10 🌠🌠 = ABANDON
Why do they keep feeding us these cinematic calamities. The acting, Pace and Storyline was a disaster from start to finish, Complete rubbish is a word I've never used but is absolutely fitting. I really had to fight my emotions to watch it all the way through I was completely UNAMUSED. If creators of horror are going to keep pumping out the same uncreative style of shooting FFF (Found footage films) it has to be imperative that they atleast give us a worthy entertaining storyline that's attached to it. We are so tired of the corny amateur film crew who gets interrupted by wannabe creepy intruders in this case they wear stupid masks that resemble the 'BIG EYES ART PAINTINGS' brandishing steak knives chasing the crew around a secluded cabin in the woods. I really need not say more any twist or turn that's revealed isn't worth you wasting 83 mins. sifting through this trash to see. No I wouldn't reccomend this film to watch I have more fun doing chores around the house atleast it's not a waste of my time. My rating is 2 which urges you to be smart and Abandon this nonsense.
In the Dark (2019)
Definitely near the top of my list for a Netflix series. I just couldn't stop watching.
'In The Dark' 9/10 = Lightly Worshiped 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
The super gorgeous Perry Mattfeld is now one of my favorite new actresses. Her acting range is phenomenal, Perfectly cast as a Beautiful blind heavy drinking nymphomaniac witty wise cracker with a good heart grabs your attention from the opening scene and doesn't let up until the final episode of the first season. This Netflix series is very well crafted in every aspect of it's creation. Writing, Directing, Acting, Music, Storyline, Casting, Wardrobe, Comedy, Drama, Romance, Mystery it really covers the board for an emotionally gripping series of episodes. Maybe there was a scene or two when I felt like Murphy the lead character played by Perry maybe forgot her character was blind for a second but 98% of the time she was truly spectacular. Nothing more to say the proof is in the pudding just watch and you'll understand. Of course I would recommend this series it's one of the best Netflix has to offer and they have a ton of good ones already but they most certainly are making space for 'In The Dark' my rating is 9/10 so for me this series will be Lightly Worshiped.
Point Blank (2019)
I wasn't going to review this film but a bunch of idiots are writing fraudulent comments.
Anthony Mackie (Avengers, Capt.America, Triple 9. Frank Grillo ( Avengers, Capt. America, The purge. Marcia Gay, Teyonah Parris, So with that being said it's no reason for me to comment on the acting. Before I pressed play to watch this Netflix film I knew it would be interesting because of the actors but would it be a great film like 'Triple Frontier'. Well in it's own way the resounding answer to that is absolutely. This film was literally exciting from the opening scene. The pace was super fast but not hectic, It never wasted a second of your time and each character was vital to the story unfolding the way it did. The locations for many of the action scenes were fun and entertaining to watch even if it wasn't totally original the movie held it's own and wasn't a copycat film. The directing and writing was on point with good humor at times as well as the videography. Would I recommend this film Yes 80% of those who watch it will enjoy it like I did and my rating is 8/10 so from me that garners Heavy Praise.
Disgruntled Employee (2012)
Honestly, this film was one of the better super low budget movies I've seen in a while.
'Disgruntled Employee' 6/10 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 = (A Hand Clap)
Please understand this isn't just a film with a low budget, This film looks like it was shot with an iPhone 3 but on the flip side the voice audio, background sound effects & score is done fairly well for this quality. Although at times some of the sounds can become exhausting as they run on for multiple minutes without ceasing. The writing and dialogue was interesting and funny at times when it needed to be. The film is a dark comedy horror in the category of disturbing films most likely because it shows full nudity of women and is highly sexually suggestive showcasing rape, abuse and voyeurism through out the entire film. But as I said it's a comedy so everything comes across funny not fearful because the film never takes itself serious which adds to the charm. The plot of the movie is about a middle aged perverted janitor who goes postal sexually while working in a office building with 4 very sexy secretaries 3 of which hate his guts. The acting was also very fitting of the mood and each character held their own and made a pretty fun film I usually wouldn't watch due to it's poor quality. Would I recommend this movie Yes with an asterisk in my disclaimer stating this movie is for those adults who don't mind watching a low film quality independent black comedy with a lot of nudity and senseless male chauvinism who can take a joke. I enjoyed this movie so my rating is 6.
The Wrong Patient (2018)
Definitely one of the better lifetime movies.
'The Wrong Patient' 7/10 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 = Light Praise
I was delighted to see the beautiful Sunny Mabrey who starred in 'Species 3' about 15 years ago as the lead role. This film also features the equally beautiful Lindsay Maxwell. The description for this movie says it all the pace is good and doesn't drag. The acting across the board was very good as expected, Of course being a lifetime made for TV movie some scenes are a bit over dramatic but it doesn't feel cheesy or inauthentic. Outside of the psycho behavior portrayed by the antagonist they did a good job conveying a message a lot people who seek plastic surgery will take to heart. Yes I would recommend this as a good TV movie. My rating is 7 which garners light praise.
The Wedding Guest (2018)
Sooner or later Dev Patel will consistently be mentioned among the top elite actors.
'The Wedding Guest' 8/10
🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 = Heavy Praise
I'll make this quick, Some actors are stand out stars who always rise to the occasion and find a way to make every role they play authentic and memorable. Dev Patel is one of those such actors. 'The Wedding Guest' is an understated thriller that keeps you glued to the screen as you watch. Not because of guns blazing or intense car chases, It's because this film has a storyline that unfolds in a masterful way balancing intrigue and mystery through out it's entirety. The pace, music and acting was brilliant. I would definitely recommend this movie and my rating would be 8/10 which garners heavy praise.
Cold Blood Legacy (2019)
The knockoff of 'Polar' but this film is far less interesting.
'COLD BLOOD' 3/10🌠🌠🌠 = ABANDON
Heavy winter snow, mountains, cabin, isolated older hitman, mysterious female need I say more. The resemblances to 'Polar' don't even end there but I'll leave it at that so not to spoil. Those who love Jean Reno such as myself will get very nostalgic seeing him as a hitman because of the classic 'The Professional' but him being a hitman in this film is just about the only similarity to the 90's classic. The action in this film is very sparse, you get a little in the beginning and a little at the end with a storyline that's about 90% identical to other films. This film also has holes regarding character flaws or reasoning of choices. A lot of it just didnt fit into this small box of a movie. If your a Jean Reno fan you won't mind atleast watching this film but it does not hit the mark at all and I wouldn't recommend this film and my rating is 3 which equals ABANDON, Your time would be better spent elsewhere.
Skin in the Game (2019)
A female empowerment flick that gets farfetched and very cheesy.
'SKIN IN THE GAME' 4/10🌠🌠🌠🌠 = REGRET
Let me atleadt say I give this film some kudos for attempting to approach the topic of prostitution and sex trafficking sort of in a different way. But that doesn't excuse the fact of it being pretty far fetched. Especially since this film was based on true events. Too many characters were way over the top whether acting extra cool and overly courageous like one of the lead characters named Lena played by Erica Ash or the beautiful hardcore female pimp Eve played by Angelica Celaya. Of course movies embellish for dramatical purposes but in this case it comes off feeling kinda corny. Not as bad as a lifetime flick but not that much better.
The dialogue also didn't help the many scenes that came across cheesy. None of the acting was superb but actress Elisabeth Harnois who plays the mom did a horrendous job, very inconsistent from one minute to the next and she was not convincing for a woman who's teenage daughter was recently kidnapped.
Is this movie watchable yes but it doesn't have a lot of entertainment value. Some audiences will get something out of it but I wouldn't recommend this movie. My rating is a 4 equaling Regret.
2 white guys write a super weird Caucasian storyline and use African Americans as clickbait, Of course the critics love it!
'The Last Black Man In San Francisco'
🌠🌠 2/10 = Blasphemy
Since I'm going to speak about race you should know I'm African American. From the minute this movie starts until it ends I knew this story was written for and by overly pretentious extra artsy white people. Now of course theres nothing wrong with that but when you use a title containing the last black man of anything it's going to draw attention. Especially if the lead roles are played by African Americans, But if you are black then you would think somewhere behind the camera would be some black people but out of the 25 major positions occupied behind the camera including the 14 executive producers, writers, director, cinematography, editing, music, casting, and other roles I need not categorize how many of those people do you think were African American? ..... If you guessed 1 then your correct yes. Khaliah Neal an executive producer that's it. There's even 2 asians amongst that group. Is that a surprise no because it's revealed the minute you start watching. Besides the characters skin color there is nothing appealing for black people in this film, from the way these characters act or what their objectives are on a day to day basis. Even the use of slo-mo was weird watching grown men dropping leaves from a roof top down to one another falling into a half opened trash bag collecting none as they fall to the ground I mean c'mon these actors are only doing it for a check I get that but damn somebody has to say to the director and writer Joe Talbot to ease up on the weirdo meter these scenes are getting out of hand.
It's totally obvious the title and use of black characters for this eclectic slow and tedious misery of a movie is an attempt for an upcoming oscar given by those pretentious out of touch snobs who live for musicals and adaptations of Shakespeare. I will cringe when I see Joe Talbot take the stage and recieve his award for this feature. I think it's Safe to say that he knows the black community is not impressed. I wouldn't recommend this film for anyone regardless of their race I give it a 2 so it's rated Blasphemy, Considered a lie, not to be true or fraudulent.
Into the Forest (2019)
Not another one of these! Found footage with bad acting and overtly scripted.
'Into the forest' 3/10 = Abandon 🌠🌠🌠
The first priority and main objective for shooting a found footage horror flick in one word would be realism. The actors should appear genuine or as natural as possible but "Into the forest" through out the entire film achieves the exact opposite. Whether it was a character screaming into oblivion shouting with fear that's inauthentic or watching someone have a fake seizure that wouldn't convince a 10yo. Nothing will ruin a found footage film quicker than losing the belief or feeling that it's real. In a genre that's heavily saturated for and by millennials too many filmmakers think if they use amateur or unknown actors and film using handheld or shaky camera effects it will give the movie a boost of realism. Usually it does but that's not the case if every scene comes across appearing forced or scripted. I wouldn't recommend this film for viewers and suggest steering clear of it entirely.
The 1st hour is Super boring. Terrible dialogue. Once India Eisley takes it all off the movie gets better but never gets good.
"Adolescence" (4/10) = Regret 🌠🌠🌠🌠
After 5 mins. this movie starts with a haphazard age progression of a young kid who turns into a powder face senior in high school he looks nothing like played by Mickey River. Him and his best friend played by ex rapper lil Romeo are the bizarre odd couple who bumble there way around town seeking fun through loitering stores, getting high and partys subsequently meeting his love interest played by India Eisley.
This film does have a realistic message and the storyline reveals that through out but the movie is just boring a few times it starts to look as though it will pick up and after 5 mins of an interesting scenario the tires get gashed and it's flat again. Bad pacing with an hour of wasted time at the beginning could've atleast made this film worth watching or remembering, But nothing happens dramatic enough to make it a memorable movie. Even though the end is understandable and somewhat practical in todays world we live in it doesn't progress towards that enough and abruptly ends. On the brightside I was delighted when the screen went black and the credits were flashed because I was happy it was finally over.
Very Good Movie - But the color grading was the films worst nightmare!
The Illegal chroma levels in this movie has potentially kept this film from recieving high praise. Basically not too dark or not too bright. (QA) Quality Assurance will reject films for TV, Cable or DVD that don't abide or meet these standard limits. The problem with independent straight to web movies are these conditions don't apply. The high lights coupled with the brightness of the snow at the start of this movie and subsequent scenes with blinding light peering through the cabin windows were painful to see. Inside the cabin was the complete opposite, not as bad but overly dark with a color temperature too hot and exhausting saturation but it fit the mood for the most part and leveled out eventually.
In all honesty this film did not need the gimmicky post production antics & mistakes. It was phenomenally filmed and written.
Old lady Agnes played by Rowena Bentley is an absolute gem. Beautifully mature funny while equally scary.
Billy played by David Lenik also does a fine job.
The pace, storyline, special FX and music were brilliant and deserves praise.
The setting may seem like a parody of the classic "Misery" and a few other movies which most certainly was the intent but "Winterskin" has a firm agenda and it sticks to the goal at hand. Creepy bloody comical and fun. Definitely deserves a higher Imdb rating than 4 and I give it a 7 (Some Praise) and would definitely recommend this film for horror comedy fans you should really enjoy it.
No Child of Mine (1997)
Amazingly Sad and DISTURBING, One of the most gripping true tales I have ever seen. A great movie is a must watch, this movie YOU HAVE TO WATCH.
"NO CHILD OF MINE"
I'll keep this as short as possible.
Todays date is June 21st,2019 the dates important because this film regardless of when it was released in '97 still packs the punch of modern cinema. Of course though me being a fan of older disturbing films and I've basically seen them all which would be a couple hundred from "Serbian film" to "120 days of Sodom" or even the "Guinea pig" series, theres always a few that slip through the cracks until they arrive in your purview and for me today it was "NO CHILD OF MINE" which is based on a true story about a 10yo girl from the U.K, who is abused played by. Brooke Kinsella. The job Brooke does playing Kerry is absolutely amazing I won't give away anything but when a movie such as this really opens your eyes to how sick, cruel and indifferent adults can be towards helpless children movies like this should be mandatory viewing and community outreach programs should triple in funding and volunteer assistance.
I personally vow to do more but just thinking how there could be hundreds or thousands of Kerry's wishing for someone to help them really tugs at my heart. So when evil people who are disgraceful, corrupt and unkind like what my country is dealing with from our current president, people have to realize what we are showing our kids and the trash they take in on a day to day basis will have disastrous and horrifying consequences not just for their generation but for the ones to come. A HAVE TO WATCH film don't worry too much about the quality it adds realism that's priceless better than found footage can do.. Cheers.
Season 2 Kicks off with a bang and continues where season 1 stopped.
"YELLOWSTONE" (Season 2) 9/10 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
Yellowstone's character John Dutton I believe is the most perfectly matched role Kevin Costner has ever played. I almost feel like if he could have chose a life as a second alternative to being a movie star he would of chosen to be John Dutton. Even with all the pain that he's endured through life. Yellowstone for me conjures that excitement of peering into a world I'm not apart of like watching the classic night time soaps like "Dallas" & "Dynasty" the only difference is "Yellowstone" is the night time soap for tough guys that women will enjoy just as much. The characters are phenomenal with so many different angles at play. The power shifting between the native reservation, the ranch, the law and the political pundits creates a vast storyline that's very entertaining to watch play out. Of course with a big production like this it's not surprising the acting, music, videography and beautiful landscapes leaves you in awe everytime you watch but nothing's ever guaranteed just because a big pile of money is behind something doesn't mean it will succeed but viewers have shown praise and appreciation for a show that provides a pretty big bang for every single buck. "YELLOWSTONE" Hands down is one of my favorite shows.
Jessica Jones (2015)
The third season unfortunately does not invoke anger when realizing it's fate of being the last one
"JESSICA JONES season 3" 6/10 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
The final season of Jessica Jones on Netflix was a series I was highly anticipating. Her laid back hard shell emotionless exterior was always an attribute I admired. This season for the most part held to that narrative but at times throughout each episode it seemed as though the writers ran out of reasons to justify her attitude. Needless to say if someone has a daily diet consisting of 2 bottles of hard liquor and a cheese burger they would probably walk around grumpy all day also. It also failed to deliver a sufficient adversary or villain. Yes there were a couple other characters who were allies and had special abilities but the special effects of them displaying the abilities was virtually non-existent except for the camera cutting from them being one place and popping up at another or seeing a character perform parkour tricks like a back flip off a wall I've seen people on YouTube doing just for fun. Outside of the few times Jessica was pushing or punching something with more strength than the average body builder nothing else really happens and sadly enough that was about the extent of anything that appeared to be super human. Maybe the budget lacked funding for more special FX but after viewing the entire series I feel as though Netflix won't be heartbroken over this series coming to it's conclusion.
Fast Color (2018)
DAMN! They ran out of gas on a road that could've lead to a great motion picture
"Fast Color" 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
Starring the beautiful Gugu M-Raw I was delighted to see her as the lead. A very talented actress who did a good job in this film but a few scenes felt redundant and forced on her part. All around the actors were above par in this one but the story's progression lacked cohesion at times. The pace was all over the place and with a movie about super human abilities there is no reason for 75% of the storyline to be boring. It also was way under developed. Actors were just blurting out past memories to fill in obvious plot holes. The adversaries had no back story's so we have no idea what the bad guys are trying to accomplish. We know nothing about the lead characters past except a few details that don't go into any specifics, I mean if this were a TV series with 10 more episodes then it would of been better because character development was totally non-existent for this film. Special FX were ok but the usage was far and in between I felt as though the budget wasn't equipped to perform too many parlor tricks which in turn forced many needed scenes to be cut or never filmed. Very predictable and the mystery was futile the characters were not surprising as to who they were or their intentions. The ending was a little tacky and didn't feel heroic at all, I had no emotional connection to any of the characters so the on screen antics at the end felt phony and contrived.
Not a bad film to watch it definitely had some substance but it never made it to the destination it was heading for.
The Nightmare Gallery (2019)
Please not another cheap & cheesy lifetime horror flick
"The Nightmare Gallery" 🌠🌠🌠
This film is a C+ or B- movie across the board. The acting, Music, Cinematography and special FX have the feel of a cheesy made for TV minuscule budget movie. I personally loathe these kind of films so regardless of the storyline or direction these films take it's basically a waste of time when their's a massive amount of good movies to watch and so little time to watch them. I suggest a hard pass on this one.
Den blomstertid nu kommer (2018)
A good foreign film with great SFX layered with a beautiful story of emotion and regret.
(THE UNTHINKABLE) SWEDISH - ENGLISH SUBTITLES
Many people seemed angry with a story that unfolds throughout it's entirety but I felt their was immense value in the way it was told. None of the characters were perfect or blameless and in reality many will deflect or shutdown while hiding their true feelings even if the best and most obvious thing to do is speak up.
The pace wasn't bad there were a few moments that slowed to a crawl but the story never halted or regressed. There was plenty of action sequences and the Efx were splendid along with acting and videography to boot.
Giving this film anything below a 5 would absolutely be non-sense. Yes it may not be your cup of tea but this is a top rated production that comes together cohesively and lends credibility against those skeptics who doubt conspiracies. Russia is always listening and plotting.
A surprisingly good independent film. The lead role has high potential.
"A Young Man With High Potential" (7)🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
I truly only watched this film because it had no reviews on IMDb and with hundreds of movies at my disposal to choose from I hate to waste time so a competent review to me is priceless.
Right away this film gets the ball rolling within the first 5 minutes the pace doesn't drag and every scene is relevant to the story. A small cast you can count on one hand but the acting is quite good, especially from the lead role who was superb. The whole film is basically shot in a modern one bedroom apartment but they have enough scenes outside and other places to keep you from getting claustrophobic. The videography was clean and the angles were refreshing the camera never seemed to be out of place and it really told the story from the best perspective.
You may be reminded a bit of other films that are based along the same premise but this flick really stands out by creating a character that's complex while simultaneously being relatable or familiar of someone just like him filled with anger and empathy.
A very good film from start to finish the ending was on point and really stuck the landing. I definitely recommend this film it may just surprise you.
The Cleaning Lady (2018)
Just a tad more creepier than a Lifetime thriller but predictable all the same.
"The Cleaning Lady" 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
This film is a very average horror flick. One of the other reviews said it was disgusting so I couldn't wait to check it out, unfortunately that was an obnoxious and baseless mischaracterization. Albeit the quality was better than a made for TV movie but it wasn't even explicit enough to be rated PG-13. The mystery vanishes after the first 20 minutes and it's just not original enough to garner any sort of praise. The acting was ok & the film is well paced so it does keep your attention but it doesn't push the envelope at all, showcasing various awkward scenes that telegraph exactly where this film was headed. All in all not the worst but nothing amazing, super creepy or grotesque. A time killer at best.
Head Count (2018)
Scary, Unique, Good quality! So why is it a 4? One of the worst endings ever.
"HEAD COUNT" 🌠🌠🌠🌠
This movie in the beginning had me very angry at the few reviews I read stating it was horrible and regrettable to watch. The pace moves along nicely and the storyline is up to par with acting that holds together well enough to keep you engaged throughout the film. Sound effects and music were well placed and the jump scares came at surprising moments so they never felt cheesy or fabricated. The videography was well crafted albeit a few angles were off kilter like the beginning of the jacuzzi scene or when they returned to the rocks on the 2nd day. But this movie was going in the right direction and it had a pretty unique twist, Unfortunately when creating something new if the writers are not focused enough to intricately peace together every little detail so that the ending makes sense while maintaining the mystery it all just falls apart in the last scene which will frustrate anyone after 90 minutes and this flick is a prime example of that. So close but no cigar for this one.
Triple Frontier (2019)
AFFLECK, HUNNAM, ISSAC JUST TO NAME A FEW. NEED I SAY MORE!
I would rate this a 10 but nobody takes your rating seriously if you do so I'll put 9 because I've rated over a 100 movies and I don't want this review to be taken lightly. There's actually a user review that said they didn't expect much from this movie, Well that same review didn't make much sense and had a bunch of misspelled typos so of course I didn't expect to learn much from that reviewer, I myself on the other hand did expect alot from this movie that I've been waiting to see for 3 months and it was well worth it. A tale of Validation, Redemption, Greed and Survival. The allstar cast needs no introduction. The character portrayals were on point showing the actors true age revealing faults while showcasing wisdom. The gorgeous Adria Arjona does outstanding with a limited role co-starring as she always does. The storyline is simple yet captivating filled with action sequences of adventure while strategically projecting psychological emotion through reality making it feel as though the film is based on a true story. The pace is perfect from the opening scene until the closing credits the writers and director Chandor & Boal literally do not waste a second of entertainment and this film will be considered a classic and most definitely lands in the all time top 3 Netflix films. Truth be told I'm a Netflix fan but there's always something that falls a little short with their original films, Many of them are good but noticeably flawed. "TRIPLE FRONTIER" however doesn't suffer that same fate and by most viewers will be regarded as a masterpiece. These are the films I highly recommend and everyone will enjoy when watching.
Slightly better than I thought but not hardly any good.
Well I knew from the start this movie would be painstakingly slow but it wasn't as boring as I expected. With that being said there was absolutely no excitement. The videography is also very overrated the black and white color scheme along with the era it's portraying (The 70's) tricks your perception into thinking it's more artistic than it really is because the camera is topnotch and very clear and by utilizing computerized wide angle panning it keeps everything clean and crisp adding to the realism of the film. Yes this flick was too long but do I feel like I wasted 132 minutes of my life, not necessarily. Do I think this film was worthy of winning an academy award, not by a mile. Whoever's rating these films needs a complete overhaul. These old institutions controlled by these pompous hypocrites with poor taste has become obsolete and doesn't hold the weight and or garner the respect of winning an award like they use too.
Vox Lux (2018)
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT, ONLY IDIOTS WILL COME AWAY FROM THIS FILM NOT REALIZING WRITER & DIRECTOR BRADY CORBET IS AN ARTISTIC GENIUS.
From the second this movie starts the film gives off an eerie intoxicating feel of a realistic well crafted documentary. Before watching this film I read some of the other user reviews characterizing the narration by William Dafoe as being a nuisance while crippling the movies true potential. After watching this film I've come to realize this world is tremendously cluttered with movie goers who are truly clueless about what constitutes a great film. The use of the narrations in this film were purely remarkable, They were very precise and on point giving the movie an authentic vibe along with a massive amount of information in a very short period of time so the movies pace stayed fresh and unyielding.
The videography for this film was outstanding Von Trier esque, showcasing long one shot scenes of characters from behind as they walk through the streets or down a long hallway.
The acting by everyone was virtually phenomenal, Jude Law was incredible portraying the witty workaholic no nonsense idealistic manager who we all wish we had on our side. Raffey Cassidy was breathtaking playing dual roles to perfection. And if the new Demi Moore Natalie Portman wasn't already an all star actress I would of thought Celeste was a real pop star. Lady gaga, Rhianna, Katy Perry, Miley cyrus all of these women were clearly who Corbet modeled this role after. And I will not spoil but even the surprise conclusion at the end lends to the beliefs of millions (myself included) around the world whether it's a religious truth or just a conspiracy theory as to how these music superstars were able to rise above the rest and become so successful at their craft.
I'm a rap artist with 20 years of writing and performing experience so when I say the music in this film is not just a melodic cheap representation of fake pop artist songs playing through out the film for dramatic purposes I'm being totally honest, The songs are very good so good that they could easily land in regular rotation for a radio station and nobody would question a thing about their placement and millions would be streaming these tunes online. Most of the time songs grow on you after repetition and hypnosis from hearing them over and over again so if your bopping your head from the first listen than that song has a good chance of becoming a fan favorite.
I expect this film to win many awards and for someone to think this film degrades the music industry or gives a disingenuous narcissistic characterization of a pop star is truly clueless about the psychosis of a real pop star. Actually this film was somewhat tame and could have really delved into some of the more uglier things that take place behind the curtains of the music world but it wasn't needed and I am very happy with the amount of drama it showcased because it didn't try too over dramatize the story. This film is highly recommended and is surely better than it's 6.5 rating undoubtedly stunted by many who can't recognize brilliance due to the fact they've never achieved that feat or ever witnessed that accomplishment in their own lives..
