Oppenheimer (2023)
Ya, what they wrote.
I feel like my review is just going to mimic everyone elses... it was good..but. I have to start by saying that I had no desire to watch this film, it's just not my cup of tea. However my 81 father, who is battling cancer, wanted so bad to see it. My husband was going to to but plans fell through, and I ended up taking him. The only knowledge I had of Oppenheimer was from the couple of times his name was brought up on The Big Bang Theory, other than that.. nothing. So I'm just going to spit it out.. I was confused, I didn't really understand what was going on. I thought the sound, the acting, the visuals were brilliant, but until the part in the movie where the bomb is tested and then everything afterwards, I was just lost. Ok here's the good part and why I gave the movie 8 stars and maybe I might change it to a 10 someday.. I believe that I will thoroughly love this movie the second time I watch it, and that's because it will all make sense. The last 30 minutes explained the first 2 hours, so next time I watch it, the first 2 hours will make sense. I truly hope RDJ finally gets his Oscar for this movie, but honestly it could go to anyone in this cast, even the small role from Rami Malek was Oscar worthy. I'm going to go again with hubby, so hopefully I'll enjoy it a bit more than last time.
The Curious Case of Natalia Grace (2023)
Disgusting parents
Wow, talk about angry!! IDK who I'm more angry at.. The horrible awful egotistical disgusting parents, Kristine's jerk lawyer, or the horrible judge who basically handed Michael his not guilty by not allowing ANYTHING to be brought up. Even if, and that's a strong if, she wasn't a child, she was still disabled and was still dependent on adults. I am just so grossed out that these people, these monsters got away with what they did to this child. I hope that Michael hears how the jury actually felt about him, because his glee over him thinking the jury believed him and actually liked him, is laughable. Wow what a Rollercoaster. I hope that Kristine, Michael, and that judge all have the life they deserve.
Will Trent (2023)
Not sure yet
The only reason I watched the first episode was because I remember I liked the actor from the show The Affair, so even though I hated everything about the casting from my all time FAVORITE book series, I thought I'd give it a shot. I really do like the show, but besides the casting being completely opposite of the books ( except Angie, she was spot on for me), it was pretty good. I do feel like if you're not familiar with the books, it might get a bit confusing because it doesn't really share everything about Will and the characters just yet. I think I'll continue to watch, and I have to learn to separate the books from the show. I wonder why Karin agreed to these people, especially Will... doesn't she realize that the one thing we love the most about Will is his awkwardness, his insecurities, his shyness and dry sense of humor, also picturing his perfect body and face being marred with scars from his childhood. Ben plays Will as being too cocky, too confident, too sure of himself. I'm sad that Karin sort of sold out on this casting.
Anyways I will continue to watch it, but the Will and Faith in my head will definitely not be these two when her next book comes out.
The Art of Racing in the Rain (2019)
Perfect
I waited a long time to watch this movie because I love the book so much that I was scared they would ruin it for me... wow I couldn't have been more wrong. This movie gave me all of the same feels that the book did. The actors were exactly how I pictured them too. Milo is just amazing in this role. Have your kleenex ready for this one .
Coming 2 America (2021)
What's with all the crabby reviewers?
Ok so no it's not as good as the first one, but it has a lot of charm and funny moments. I actually liked it a lot. I also found Leslie Jones the best part of the movie, she is hilarious. Everyone needs to stop being so uptight and just enjoy a simple uncomplicated movie.
The Conners (2018)
Funnier now
I liked Roseanne, but I love The Connors. So many sour grapes on this page that are giving tjis show bad ratings because of politics, I'll bet half of these people who are giving it one star haven't even watched a single episode. I really hope it's back for another season.
Kingdom (2014)
Amazing
How was thing series never talked about? The show is incredible, the actors are all top notch and so believable in their roles. Do not pass this show up if you come across it.
Best in Show (2000)
Best movie ever
I could literally watch this movie over and over again and for some reason it gets funnier each time because you catch things you didn't the 100 times before. Some people just aren't meant for this type of comedy I guess because it blows my mind that anyone would give this movie lower than an 8.
Urban Cowboy (1980)
Still one of the best
I wish I could give little rolling eye emojis to all of the people on here saying this movie isn't good, they must be nuts. The soundtrack is amazing, the dancing is fun, and the acting and chemistry by Debra and John is amazing. How could anyone not love a young John Travolta?? Swoon
The Reliant (2019)
I'd rather stick needles in my fingernails
I honestly think I'd rather stick sewing needles underneath my fingernails than ever watch this horrific movie again. I am not at all against guns, not at all against Jesus, what I am against are movies that have terrible acting, and movies that just dragged. The funny thing is, I actually sort of liked the plot and it wouldn't have been horrible if they would have changed some things...like the cast, the director, the writer etc..
The thing that makes me laugh is the fact that it's supposed to be a film that supports guns, and wants to show us how amazing guns are... Yet they show the killing of a little child accidently by her brother, and the murder of a father, and the girls fiance, how is that supposed to show people that we should all have guns, and I'm sorry but as much as I love Jesus, I couldn't let the man who killed my father all of a sudden hang out with my family and then baptize me. Jesus (no pun intended) this movie was so ridiculous. Ohhh and another thing, how are they in the middle of hiding out in the woods for over a month, yet the older sister has on fake eyelashes and her hair looks like she just got back from the salon??!! Most ridiculous movie I've ever seen..this was even worse than Waterworld, or Jason goes to Manhattan. Save your eyeballs and brain cells and please don't watch this horrible movie
Richard Jewell (2019)
You people are crazy!!
I swear sometimes the people who give bad reviews on amazing movies like this one just do it for shock value, but they truly know how great the movie really.
I swore that after seeing the movie The Muse, that I would never trust another Clint Eastwood movie again, but here I am in quarantine and decided to give it a try, and boy did Clint redeem himself with this one.
Thank you Richard Jewell for saving so many people's lives that day, and may you RIP.
And to the haters of this film, nice try but we all know you loved it.
Ma (2019)
Don't listen to negative reviews
I actually really enjoyed this movie. I don't know why everyone thought it was supposed to be a horror movie, at no time during the previews does it suggest it's a horror film. It was fun and creepy and overall a good movie.
The Hustle (2019)
Very funny
First I want to say that except for The Devil Wears Prada, I am not a fan of Anne Hathaway, she just doesn't do it for me. A friend wanted to see this movie and I was expecting to just take a 90 minute nap, however I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this movie, and Anne. Obviously the people who wrote "it was the worst movie they've ever seen" didn't see A Star Is Born, which was absolutely terrible. The Hustle was hilarious.
The Intruder (2019)
Loved it
The people who are giving this movie such low ratings obviously go to movies to just pick apart every little detail instead of just watching and enjoying it for what it is, a fictional movie. These wannabe movie critiques like to insult people like me who just want to enjoy a simple little movie and not act like it's my life's mission to find every little minor detail that was flawed.
Ok now with that being said, I really enjoyed this movie. It had me glued to the screen the whole time, and omg Dennis Quad's performance was worth the price of admission, creepy times 10. If you're expecting an Oscar winning movie, definitely not it..if you just want to see a fun little movie that had a few good jump scares and one creepy man..this is the movie for you.
Captain Fantastic (2016)
Shocked
I'm utterly shocked at people giving this movie bad reviews! This movie is one of the best movies I've ever seen, it's just so beautifully written and acted, it was funny, heartwarming and also heart wrenching. Who are these people that are giving this terrific movie such low stars? Probably the same people who gave great reviews to Movies like A Star Is Born or The English Patient; some people have no taste.
A Star Is Born (2018)
So boring.
I had two emotions after watching this movie, I laughed because people actually enjoyed it, and I cried because I actually spent my hard earned money on this awful movie. I love Bradley and Gaga, and I certainly didn't think their acting was bad ( although Bradley's voice reminded me of Billy Bob Thornton's from Sling Blade) but the movie just dragged on and on and on. The only reason I would ever watch this movie again would be if I had to fall asleep in a hurry.
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Wow wow wow
I swear if Rami doesn't get an Oscar for this role, I will be done with movies forever. This movie was so brilliant, nothing dragged, there were no boring parts, no looking at my watch wondering when it'll be over. This is a must see. Even if you're not a Queen fan.
White Boy Rick (2018)
Wow
Honestly I think I loved this movie more than I would have if different actors were in it, but because they were all so phenomenal, this movie just sucked me in. The young man who played Rick was so believable and amazing that he deserves an award for his performance, and his sister plays such a believable addict that I actually cried during one particular scene. I don't understand the low ratings of this movie, the theater I was in everyone applauded after it was done. Great great movie.
