Worth Retelling
13 July 2019
After a slow start with some poor acting the series finished strongly

This true story is a fascinating one and worthwhile reliving again.

The madness of war
11 July 2019
Dark film which is compelling due to it being a true story

The lead actor was very good as "The Captain " though there were some "cabaret " moments in the movie

Not as good as I thought it would be, but still worth a watch

...Still very entertaining

Obviously not a patch on the original film, but decent enough with plenty of action

Interesting series from point of view you would not think of, regarding the medical staff in the German hospitals towards the end of World War Two

Not Crazy about it but it's ok

Not as good as was led to believe before watching the film.

But it's a decent enough Rom Com, though a lot of that thought process was down to the beautiful location of Singapore

Acting wise Gemma Chan was the best. But the film mostly reminded me of an Asian version of "The Wedding Singer "

Interesting but slightly biased interpretation of the great mans life.

Music is good and plenty of it. Would describe the experience as a darker version of Mamma Mia but without the beautiful scenery

All totally unbelievable but great fun

Fantastic locations which are beautifully shot. Tom is showing his age a bit, but is still a wonder to watch him do most of his stunts

Roll on the next film in this franchise!

Heroes

An important story to be told about a brave soldier and the many men and women who risked their lives to help him escape the Gestapo in World War 2

A reminder yet again how much we owe these heroes. The film was visually impressive and you felt part of the scenery

Good fun for all the family

Like most follow up movies it's not good as the original, but as always the real joy comes from the music of ABBA and it was nice to hear some of their not so well known songs. Acting wise Lily James was very good

Us or Them?

Strange film, it's a mixture of a thriller come satire or horror

Keeps your attention though, however was expecting a bit more going on overall IMB rating and reading some respected critic reviews

Not much Sunshine

Not a patch on The Walking Dead franchise

Though they wouldn't have the budget AMC have. This series was dark but took too much time to reach a climax, with the best episode being the final one.

Must admit did not know a lot about Motley Crue before watching this film.

Got to say though their music was pretty good. As for the movie it appears to be a all warts and no filter description of the bands journey together

Some of it is a bit distasteful, but a lot of it is how you would expect a young rock and roll band to behave when they reach the top

Real Men

Good to see this famous story from the point of view of the hunters rather than the hunted.

Harrelson and Costner were very good together, and the feel of the film had you believe you were there in the 1930's

Tense drama with likeable characters

Scenes on the U Boat made you believe you were sharing the crews claustrophobic experience

Climax sets up nicely for hopefully a second series

Thought provoking series with interesting characters and nice soundtrack

A quality european production and though ending may not be everyone's cup of tea, it was cleverly done

Important Story

About some very brave people at a horrible time in our history

It's so important that risk they took to document for all time what happened at Mauthausen is told to the world.

Beautiful

Gorgeous story about three important subjects in our lives, loneliness, love and death

Eddie Marsan is brilliant as John May, with lovely support from the always watchable Joanne Froggatt

Shame this film is rarely shown on terrestrial television, as it's as relevant today as it was when first shown in 2013

Atmospheric drama where you feel part of the bleak story

All about the acting from an entertainment point of view with Ruth Wilson and Mark Stanley both very convincing as they convey their tortured experience

Not a great fan of science fiction movies normally, but this is a cleverly made storyline

Keeps you guessing till the end, on the presumption you have concentrated on the plot.

Amy Adams as per usual for me is captivating and holds the film together beautifully

Sweet film

Though about the pain and confusion of a young person "coming out" it's mainly a movie about love and understanding

Decent performance by Nick Robinson in the lead role, well supported by Katherine Langford who was good.

A proper movie star

Must admit that in the past have never really been interested in a Burt Reynolds film

So a pleasant surprise to say that I enjoyed this movie, where Burt basically played himself

Cleverly done and a grand supporting role by young Ariel Winter who is going to be a big star

Guilty of poor budget

Interesting story about an important subject matter

But acting was very poor, and suffered for what came across as a restricted budget

Intrigued
17 January 2019
Found the film interesting, as though I knew of the tragedy was not aware of the full story.

Most movies about the Kennedys usually are about the President,so this take on his younger brother was intriguing

Jason Clarke was very good as Ted and also Ed Helms normally known best for comedy gave a good performance as Gargan.

A bird worth watching
16 January 2019
Decent thriller with lots of twists and turns

Worth watching alone as usual just for the performance of Jennifer Lawrence, who is good and as always brings a presence to the film.
