Aloha Undertakers (2015)
witty, contemporary, darkly funny!
The summary says it all -- plus the cinematography, set design, wardrobe, make up and graphics (all in addition to the writing and directing) are spot on. Giliani Sumida-Moiseff and Kiran Chitanvis wrote and directed. They make a great team, using excellent film and directing techniques to bring together a complex, but united plot that is both funny and dramatic. Attention to details (e.g. the graphics in the news stories) and a flair for comedy, and gallows humor make this series very watchable! Using a local on O'ahu (Hawaii) and edited with precision, the duo bring out the best in performance from the actors. Playful and deadly are two adjectives that come to mind for the performances and directing style. We hope to see more from the series as well as from both of the talented writers and film makers.
