Tenet (2020)
I know a great palindrome to describe this movie: wow
I highly advice it to watch it twice because your first watch alone may leaves you kinda disappointed. This movie is a lot like Mementos which requires multiple re-watch to assemble all the puzzle pieces together.
First off, this movie isn't meant to be an 'acting' magnum opus. The actors all do a fine job, but it's obvious this movie wasn't needing method actors like Christian Bales, Joaquin Phoenix, Matthew McConaughey, etc. The brilliance of the movie resides in the concept itself. It's hard to review the movie without ruining it with spoilers, so I'll leave it at that. Just remember that it needs more than one watch. I give it 9/10 because at the end you need to pay twice for the movie...
I'm a huge fan of time-travel stories, especially the ones involving time paradox concepts. One that come to mind is a smart time-travel novella I've read around March titled Project Dechentreiter (2015) by Elder Prince. I couldn't understand the story from one-time reading, my mind was in torment even though there were so many clues and puzzle pieces hidden in plain sight. Everything made so much sense after a second read (luckily the story only counts 80 pages), and what a fantastic e-book that I highly recommend. There was also a movie called Time Lapse (2014), that one included brilliant ideas but wasn't executed with elegance, but is a good watch anyway.
I can't wait for Christopher Nolan's next movie!
The Negotiator (1998)
Stole a sequence from Stephen King's rage
I am surprised no one reported this in their review. Read 'Rage' from Stephen King and you'll see what I mean. It's way too similar to be a coincidence.
Gerald's Game (2017)
Extremely accurate and faithful to the novel
Masterpiece. The last ten minutes were brilliantly executed. This director's work is definitely on par with Frank Darabont's movies. Every sequences of the novel is present in the movie. Acting is delivered at its finest. Netflix need more Stephen King adaptations like this one. A must watch for everyone.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)
Much better than what the critics made me expect
I wasn't sure I wanted to watch this reboot after reading all the negative and harsh reviews. Another reason is that I'm not a fan of The Transformers by Micheal Bay. Anyway... I decided to take a risk, especially because most of the time so many other great movies are underrated by the public. What's more, I'm not a person who's hard to please, I'm still a kid in my heart, it gives me a greater flexibility than others to be entertained.
I wasn't disappointed whatsoever with this new movie. It's exactly what I expected: a summer flick for kids, and it delivers. The CG animations are very well done, the turtles look credibly real. The storyline is interesting - although the segment how they learn ninjutsu felt a bit rushed. Each turtle have their own outfit and personality, they stand apart from each other better than in the old movie IMO. Their tall and massive look is a detail I liked very much. Shredder don't have much back story but his fight scenes make him feel like a powerful villain.
Was it better than the old movie? as far as I'm concerned I didn't feel outraged by this new direction. Some elements were greater in the old movie, other elements are better in this reboot, but the spirit is still there, at least for me.
Verdict. If you expect a Christopher Nolan or Planet of the Apes reboot, save your money for another movie. If you have kids and want to share a good time with them I definitely recommend it.
