Doctor Who: The Timeless Children (2020)
What a mess!
No Ruth, no Jack and no respect for 57years of the Doctor's history. Chibnall should be ashamed of himself. (Yes I know Ruth apppeared briefly, but only as a memory in the Matrix, so that doesn't really count.)
The only way to put this right is to scrub the last two seasons like they never happened. JW was hopelessly miscast and never was the Doctor as far as I am concerned. That's the first time that has happened (or not happened) for me, and I've been watching since 1963. Interestingly as soon as Ruth was revealed to be the Doctor, she WAS the Doctor.
So, go back to the end of Peter Capaldi's tenure, get in a showrunner who has respect for the history of Who and doesn't care about being "woke", like minded writers (maybe Joe Hill, and perhaps his old dad would like to have a go too) and cast someone with a bit of character and presence as the Doctor. Jo Martin would be perfect. Then chuck in a companion or 2 and make sure Captain Jack shows up now & again.
Simples!
Blood (2018)
Why?
I was left asking "why all the lies?" Jim clearly forgot the number one rule for lying, keep it as close to the truth as possible. He could have told all of the truth apart from the fact that Mary was still alive when he found her.
Why the business with the frog? He knocked it in the pond when he found her. She had genuinely hit her head on it when she fell, so why chuck it in the other pond in the woods?
And what on earth was that business with Frank and the gun for?
