A complete disaster
U couldn't decide which one's worse. This or Jupiter ascending? I don't even know what I'm giving it 2 stars for.
Second Act (2018)
Very good comedy
A very nice comedy that made me laugh. Not obsessed with politics and social justice crap like 99% of movies nowadays.
Leah Remini was great in the role.
Doesn't stand out at all
The previous movies are probably better but this one wasn't really that bad. Nothing stands out though, and the intensity was tuned down a little bit. However, Jamie Lee is amazing as always.
It's mainly seen as horror because it's part of the Halloween series, but I would never classify this as horror or scary in any way.
Even the final 20 minutes are not going to put you in a powerful thrilling state.
Still a watchable film. Wouldn't pay to see it though.
It's a great film in terms of teh visuals, otherwise just Hollywood propaganda.
Mermaids: The Body Found (2011)
I know it's fake..
But I enjoyed this documentary so much, I don't even know why. I'm going to watch it again for sure.
Was hoping for a lot more
I was really thinking this film would redeem 2018, but no.
Great visuals, however beyond that, the film doesn't succeed in delivering. There is nothing that grabs your attention in this movie.
My advice, lower your expectations before watching.
The Predator (2018)
Really feels like a B class film
I can't believe I have to say this, but it may be worse than alien covenant.
Would be awesome..
If only the detective was someone who could really act. Imagine the masterpiece this would be without Messing.
The Nun (2018)
Yes, you must see this movie because it's part of the conjuring series, with that being said, the film is total rubbish. There is no plot, no story, nothing original in it.
Almost everything that's happening makes no sense.
Also, I think we can all agree that the priest with a troubled past is a little bit overused.
In conclusion, this movie should be recalled and remade.
Slender Man (2018)
It's so bad even writing this review hurts.
This movie won't even scare 12 year old girls.
The Meg (2018)
Couldn't be worse
This movie was so stupid and bad in all aspects, that after thinking about it for 5 minutes, I changed my original 3 star to a 1 star, although it deserves exactly minus ten.
It is what it is.
Like someone was saying here, this is an ok movie to watch home and streaming. It's not particularly scary, the acting was very good though. The plot gets predictibile at times and it can feel pretty slow to advance.
pretty bad waste of time
Before social justice progressive politics invaded movies, even bad movies were still ok to watch.
this one has no real action in it, no originality, it has bad acting, no humour.. I don't even know what to say about it.
On the other side it has the little girl interested in science, it has the super smart brown girl, another woman who's the side hero, another woman and some other women. Men are pretty much useless except for the main guy.
We also have the mandatory trashing of the USA and the elevation of Mexico as the final saviour.
Deliver Us from Evil (2014)
nothing we haven't seen before
There is absolutely nothing original about this film. The acting isn't bad at all, but the plot is very generic. For the hardcore horror lover the movie will get boring and predictable, you've got the cop with some issues, you've got the priest know knows what's happening, you've got the cop's family with the little girl, the entire plot is a deja-vu.
The basis on which the occult is based has also been used in almost every exorcism film ever made, even though the writer tried to make it a bit more interesting by mixing Christian with persian mythology, however it didn't land that well.
The mystery character is also not very mysterious either, so I guess this film doesn't deserve more than 5 stars from me.
A mix of science and fiction?
I think bad reviews come mostly from people who want to show other how good their science is. Fair enough, this film starts from the premise that humans only use 10% of their brains and Lucy can break this barrier and reach a whole new level in human evolution. This leitmotiv was quite smartly picked to raise interest, although scientifically inaccurate. However this film excites the mind of those who REALLY know physics and know how few limits there are in what we can achieve in pushing our evolution through science to become indistinguishable from magic. "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." I personally enjoyed every bit of the movie and, as it took me to a journey into the far far future, where humans can overcome their humanity and become real Gods.
Enjoy this film and let your mind explore the impossible.
good acting - bad writing
The film itself is not bad, but it is just too predictable. I don't mind predictable films, but this one just got boring. You know way too soon who's the bad guy, who's the bad girl, who's the good guy and the good girl, who's going to fall in love, who will die and how the film would end. The story line is also not quite original, and there was one funny line in the whole movie.
It reminded me a lot of Hunger games, probably because you have yet again the shy, scared pretty girl who turns out to exceed all expectations.
That her mother was a divergent as well could also be guessed way too soon.
in conclusion: not a bad idea, but predictability made it quite boring.
