Family Guy: Dead Dog Walking (2018)
So the openning song says there is too much sex and violence, but this episode has both!
Since the very first episode of Family guy, the song goes: "It seems today, that all you see, is violence on movies and sex on tv" And throughout the whole show, Family guy seems to follow that notion. No violence or crude sex scenes.
However, in this episode, we have both. In the scene where both Chris and Stewie are fighting to get the vape, they end up kissing each other and both go to great length to describe the whole kissing moment. Only after they open their eyes do they realize they have been kissing each other.
This whole scene was unnecessary.
Magnum P.I. (2018)
I never watched the first Magnum but what is this ?
The hero gets beaten down to the pulp by two ex marines while the heroine gets shot in the arm and still moves around and acts all badass. Seriously who is the real hero of this series ?
Rian Johnson seems to suffer from Amnesia
At the beginning of the movie Rose says they must follow their responsibilities, duties and fight the evil First Order. However at the end of the movie, she stops Finn from doing the exact same thing and basically kills the whole movie with the whole "Love conquers all cliche" .
At the beginning, Poe (basically on a suicide mission) wants to destroy the super destroyers on his own but Leia and Holdo stops him basically claiming that they're against suicide missions, then at the climax of the movie, Holdo actually goes on a suicide mission against the First Order's spaceships.
Both Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren claim that the Jedi / Sith should die and the past needs to be buried, however at the end of the movie we actually see one of the slave boy use the force on the broom and carries a rebel alliance ring.
Taxi 5 (2018)
Taxi 5 is about beating a dead horse, or a dead Taxi in this case.
Throughout the whole movie, i kept waiting for Samy Naceri to make a comeback, even in the form of a Cameo but nothing happened. The movie goes to great length to proves its a fully updated 2018 movie with new faces, new locations, new music and new comedy scenes.
However, the movie keeps pandering to the old jokes of the 4 older Taxi movies, namely making fun of the police force, making fun of foreign mafia gangs and showing that inner banlieu citiziens have more knowledge of the inner workings of the city than actual police force.
The movie tries hard to show its audience that its really a refresh new look while still holding on to the past.
Alien Reign of Man (2017)
Stop making so many Alien invasion movies.
Its almost like a fetish nowadays with movie producers. It must be movies with aliens and somehow at the end, mankind wins. Not only is it cliche but its just so repetitive.
Its well known that CGI is cheap nowadays but for the sake of everyone, make movies with which viewers actually feel a real emotional connection with!
Hong hai xing dong (2018)
Movie wrongly uses the Yemen civil war to push its own military agenda.
This movie has everything, UAVs, drone strike, thermal imaging devices, fire weapons fitted with go-pros, fitted with flashlight, etc etc. The whole first hour of the movie is just a huge recruitment campaign for the Chinese navy.
By the second hour of the movie, this whole technological gimmick is thrown away and the whole movie dissolves into a gore movie where emphasis is put into bloody scenes, dismembered bodies and close hand to hand combat.
The movie actually does a great job of portraying actual military strategies and techniques like spotting snipers or use of smoke grenades / flash bangs.
Where the movie fails is using the actual Yemeni conflict as a promotional campaign to push it's own military recruitment campaign. Even though the movie states it's based on true events, actual press releases shows Chinese contribution to the Yemeni conflict was basically nil.
Deadpool 2 (2018)
Your typical superhero cliche movie where the hero is stripped of his powers.
Its the same thing as all superhero movies, they show off the cheesy sides of the superhero in the first movie, show off all his moves. Then in another movie they clip off his wings and make him a desperate powerless basic human.
Like Thor without his hammer, Bruce Banner that cannot transform into Hulk, Groot that is too little to do any form of damage, here we see the famous Deadpool that somehow got strapped with a collar that strips him of all his powers.
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
Some Heroes are stripped of their powers just for plot convience.
Bruce Banner cannot be the the Hulk during the whole movie.
Vision is pretty much useless and just a liability through out the whole movie.
Doctor Strange could have amputated the gauntlet off of Thanos' hand like he did one of his goons earlier in the film.
Doctor Strange could have briefed the Avengers on what they needed to do in order to beat Thanos that one time.
The biggest and most annoying plot hole in infinity war is that Dr Strange, who can open dimensional portals to any location, didn't just open some portals and bring every hero all together on Titan to fight Thanos.
Ready Player One (2018)
Star Wars meets Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Its your typical Spielberg movie, some cheap thrills, some suspenseful scenes to keep the kids entertained and a few quips for the adults. This movie is your typical journey of the hero, from humble beginnings (Luke Skywalker, Charlie Bucket), the audience follows the classic hero as he goes through countless challenges that tests his wits and ending with satisfying reward for his efforts.
IF you're an adult in his late 30's, you will be bored and feel uninterested by the time the movie reaches its climax.
The Greatest Showman (2017)
Critics were sellouts, great movie
In this period of political uncertainty and social degradation, The Greatest Showman is the breath of fresh air we need to see the good in life.
Despite bad reviews from critics, The Greatest Showman is a movie about a the MAN of the house struggling to make both ends meet while at the same time trying to be the best husband and the best father he can be.
With the abundance of characters, the audience is welcomed to grow with them, as they struggle with their pasts, putting them behind for a new future. The moral of this movie being that a man should not fly towards the sun with wax wings.
The Honey Killer (2011)
Another male bashing movie.
After Revenge, another male bashing movie joins the list: "The honey killer is a movie where the women just have sex with her dates and then proceeds to hurt them in whatever physical ways she deems physically possible. There is no actual plot, there is no actual character development, just smashing men for no real purpose.
Lust Stories (2018)
OK but what is the point of the whole movie?
Basically another movie where the male gender is bashed just to make the female gender look good. Yes women are suffocated in the modern society, torn apart between being a respectful woman in society but at the same time being an emancipated woman.
The director basically compiled a list of gossips shared by women in bars and clubs and made a movie out of it. I am pretty much sure that most women in india are aware that they're capable of much more, no need to spoon feed them.
Great story, bad ending.
So basically the most popular girl in school who could land any 10/10 guy ends up dating her stepbrother. Throughout the whole movie she refused to date any other guy on the excuse that she is too good for them but that ending, sheesh.
I bet guys invite girls to play sodoku at their house in the middle of the night...
No wonder this story is fictional and no wonder this story has no resemblance to any person living or dead. Just like modern feminism, the movie PINK seems to take actual facts, logic and throws them in a garbage. The movie then proceeds to shove down the throats of its viewers mindless facts about how girls are the real victims of this society. Somehow NO means NO but only when its applied to the female gender.
The story revolves around 3 girls who go on a night out using their female privileges to enjoy free booze and the company of men, but at the same time withholding the view that they are pious women that need some respect. Throughout the whole night, the 3 girls had no issue whatsoever in enjoying all the privileges of being the girlfriend of 3 rich guys, namely free booze, free transport and free house to chill.
Movie tries to shock the views by making Amithab question the character / virginity of a girl in court. The truth is, the fact that Indian cinema needs to show this scene to redpill the females of India shows how much illiterate they are in India. PINK also wastes 3 hours trying to prove if 3 girls are prostitutes or just victims when he real issue here is why was there a need to resort to violence? We live in a society where its when women are abusive / violent, its a mark of bravery However if the same traits are found in men, then they become rapists! PINK misleads viewers into thinking that women's tears actually hold more value than a plethora of evidence provided by the prosecution.
After enjoying all those freebies solely based on their female privileges, somehow its now that these three teens find out that the guys were not actually gentlemen but it was just a one night stand. Its as if these 3 girls who all this time have been enjoying all the privileges of being a girlfriend in 2016 now has taken a time travel machine has has gone back to 1940 where one night stand does not exists. Suddenly after enjoying all these free booze and entertainment, those 3 women turned out to be 3 very pious women who just was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
One question that must be asked to all those so called modern women of India and around the world reading this review. When you get invited by a guy at a restaurant, you automatically assume there will be food. When you get invited by a guy for Cinema, you automatically assume you will watch a movie together. Yet somehow, when girls are invited buy guys at their homes in the middle of the night, most girls seem to put on their innocent girl and rape victim cape on and act surprised that somehow a guy who just invited a girl to his house just want to have some sex.
My Crazy Sex (2016)
1% SEX, 99% boring explanations.
Show has nothing to do with SEX. Its mostly women explaining their so called exciting sex encounter just to prove to themselves their lives are actually worth living.
Its more like these people are going through a midlife crisis and somehow talking about that big naughty thing they did is what makes them wake up every morning from bed.
The fact that shows like this exists shows how much depravity is present in modern society. Where we're reduced to animals and watching other primates having sex is somewhat what makes our lives worth living!
The Orville (2017)
Another show where the main plot takes second seat.
Another show where the main plot takes second seat. I love Seth MacFarlane but this is just a re-hash or most science fiction TV shows out there.
The main plot of this show as we gathered from the trailers is that its about a space exploration ship that has to deal with conflict with other alien civilizations.
However, from the pilot, very little time was allotted to actual space exploration and actually more time was spent boring the viewers about the harsh divorce the main protagonist went through.
There was actually a scene where the main scientist describes how genetically modified seeds could be grown anywhere on any planet. However the only example the scientist took was the Sahara desert. So the show is about the future where humans have explored countless galaxies yet the scientist think the Sahara desert is the most barren place in this entire universe ? So far i am not encouraged to continue watching it...
Movie teaches us that the best thing about life is DEATH
Its not a movie for the current age. As biotechnology will keep on advancing and human lifespan will keep on increasing, the we will truly grasp the message of this movie.
Movie teaches us that the best thing about life is that it has a limit. If your life has a limit about how long you have to live, you tend to live each moment the best way possible.
Doctor Strange (2016)
Admit it, the Green Screen is the real hero here.
Seriously, is that what it takes to conquer viewers nowadays ? Just a bunch of CGI and cheap plots ? The whole plot smells a lot like the Dark Knight series. Broken guy goes to the mountain to train and comes back a superhero! Had it not been for the EFX, this movie would be bare bones. Seriously nothing holds this movie together from beginning to end. The movie should have finished as soon as Dr Strange acquires the eye of Agamotto and finds out he can control time.
From there on, he could just have just used that device to reverse time against the main villain and the movie would have ended!
Move starts slowly then picks up pace quickly.
The first 30 minutes of the movie is quite boring and slow.
However rest assured that the pace picks up quickly as we see the competitive side of the financial world.
Naomi uses her wit to keep an edge on wall street as she heads a new IPO after the last one was a total disaster. Movie is more like a Documentary about the process of bringing a company public. From valuations to agreeing with the start price while going on investor roadshows.
I will not spoil the ending since not yet finished the movie. Really recommended if you liked other Financial Thrillers like Margin Call!
Max Steel (2016)
I am writing this review after watching 1 hr.
If I was watching this in cinema, I would have left already.
The movie is tagged as Action / Adventure yet 1 hr into the movie and i have yet to see an action scene.
So far all i see is just a normal human being fighting with everyday life issues (his mother, his past, his girlfriend, his life). I mean so far, 90% into this movie, i have watched just a normal teenager struggling with past family matters.
Is the audience supposed to be entertained by a flying toy that can talk ? Are we supposed to be entertained by a teenager that can make sort of electricity come out of his hands ? If you can count turning a car on by using his hand as action, then this movie is for you.
Assassin's Creed (2016)
Hated the game, loved the movie.
Do not pay attention to the user reviews. Most of them played the game and wanted to feel the same suspense in the movie too.
The plot is simple, to use actual DNA technology to solve a mystery and the movie does a good job of exposing this story to us.
Its neither too complicated or too childish to understand.
The movie knows its audience, most of them played the game but some of them has not even touched the game, so both audience must be pleased.
There is action, mystery, thrills, suspense and purpose. 10/10
The bubble popped, people are waking from a dream.
In the previous Star Wars, all the major characters had flaws. They faced their own downfall and stood up stronger against it. Anakin Skywalker fell to the Darkside but overcame it thanks to the love of his son, daughter and wife. Obi Wan lost against Jango Fett, against Count Dooku and finally against his student, Anakin Skywalker. Han Solo was frozen in Carbonite, Leila got shot and the list goes on.
We do not however see any of these flaws in Rey, she is just perfect in every sense. She was living in isolation on a desert planet but still knows how to use the force, pilot a space ship, repair a space ship and eventually beat a previous student of Luke Skywalker. According to the lore of Star Wars, the Sith follows the rule of two. There is always a Sith teacher and his / her Sith student. If Rey can so easily overcome a student of Luke Skywalker, then WHY the need to learn from Luke ? As a trader. I know a financial bubble when I see one and The Force Awakens was a bubble. You can check it for yourself by sorting User Reviews on IMDb by Chronological. The madness of the masses implies that everyone follows the other fools until one by one they realized their own madness and wake up from their dreams. TFA was sold as a beautiful nostalgic dream and the audience bought it at first, but then slowly, they realized it was nothing new. Nothing new was added as canon to the Star Wars Lore.
Peter Pan does not fly in the movie!
If you actually go and google Peter Pan, there are all these pictures of a boy with a fancy hat FLYING around. This is how everyone sees him, this is how everyone pictures him.
However in this film, despite the fact that the audience knows and accepts that Peter Pan has the power to fly.... he is now allowed to, because the directors decided so.
So the movie spends countless hours rotating, twisting and boring the story with clichés just to reach the final conclusion that Peter Pan indeed does fly.
Overall the SFX and EFX are really good but story line really 1/10.
Show keeps you strangely hooked
This show magically keeps you entertained without using any flashy CGI or dialogues.
Viewer feels connected with a broken man, dragging his soul across the different obstacles of life.
The show perfectly pictures the dire reality of a war veteran torn between his past on the battlefield and the present world in which he has to commit crimes to survive.
The scenes are well made, good cinematography, good atmosphere, good musi really makes you feel in touch with that time period.
Definitely a worth watch!
Stranger Things (2016)
Show keeps baiting you to watch the next episode, but fails
I grew up watching a lot of 90's show where the main protagonist has some kind of super powers and this show is no different.
The fact that it's tagged as Horror has nothing to do with "horror". Its like a toned down version of E.T movie for 8 year old kids.
The show is mostly about a bunch of kids fighting to make themselves heard in an adult world, this is why this show is so popular among kids. The "horror" part of the movie is just an after thought.
Stranger things keeps baiting the audience by dangling little hints of horror and super powers in 3 secs scenes just to keep the audience entertained and hooked, but the rest of the screen time is just petty problems of kids and adolescents trying to do the right things.
