Worth a binge watch

I watched the first episode of this and some of the second, thought it wasn't worth wasting more of my time.

Then I saw they made a second series. How did they spin it out to even the first six episodes let alone make a second series?

So, intrigued, I watched it 'again'. All 12 episodes over a three night mini binge watch.

I fully understand the bad reviews. I'd have said much the same when I abandoned watching it after one and a bit episodes. However, it has proved to be a bit like a jigsaw puzzle. You get lots of flashbacks giving little bits and pieces of what happened but you only really get the full picture at the end.

Some might find the constant flashbacks in season 2 hard work. I kept having to rewind as I'd missed something. It will need concentration or you might miss some of the plot.

See if you can spot Doctor Who, Jo Martin, in a brief appearance!

Not bad once you realise it is meant to be watched around Halloween!

Just watched this in January 2020 from my overgrown list of Tivo recordings. After a few minutes I thought 'What's this rubbish?' It begins, like Day of the Triffids, with a meteor shower and turns into The Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Then I realised it must be a Halloween special. Treat it as a spoof story and it becomes watchable! Do not, at all, expect a 'normal' episode of Murdoch Mysteries! I thought the actors gave a decent performance as people taken over by aliens. The alien Brackenreid still using the word bugalugs was quite amusing and clever. given the bug type aliens. Like others have said, it should have ended with something like George waking from a nightmare and writing it down for his next horror story. Or perhaps there may be another Halloween special sequel in the pipeline? It's a Bugalugs Life?
