Who Will Win Her Heart?
Chief Nocona's daughter is desired by two suitors is up to Hawkeye and Chingachgook to help keep the peace as she decides who will win her heart and hand in marriage.
We have James Doohan co-starring again - but this time he plays Tonkawa who ends up fighting Hawkeye in the end!
Beam Me Up Harris
A young James Doohan co-stars in this episode as a man named Harris. Doohan is best known for his work on Star Trek as Mr. Scott aka 'Scotty'.
This is one of the better episodes you'll find of Hawkeye and the Last of the Mohicans and not because Doohan co-stars - but because it's a very interesting story of the Tuscarora tribe that going to die by either freezing or starving to death. Again, it's up to our heroes Hawkeye and Chingachkook to help them to survive the harsh winter.
Fur Traders Fight
Two fur traders - one has the territory the other wants the territory for fur trading... this leads to gun more gunpowder needed to defend against the Hurons that are on the battle fields. Can Hawkeye and Chingachgook save the day again?
Murderers, Thieves & False Witnesses
Someone is lying and stealing the payroll checks. It's up to Hawkeye and Chingachcook to sort though, find out who is lying, murdering and doing the thieving.
Something about this episode went deep within me and I enjoyed it the most of all the episodes. It's of a Native American young man that has grown up with a white father that adopted him at a very young age. The young man learns of his true heritage and birthright - it's up to our heroes to help this family before it's too late.
This one is a bit of a mystery as to what has happened to the woman's son. The woman, Martha, is rescued from being kidnapped by our heroes and she tells them of the story that happened a number of years ago of her murdered husband and kidnapped son (who was 3 at the time). Our brave warriors will solve this case for better or worse.
Hawkeye and Chingachgook help a young Irish girl named Bridget who is running away from Stark - a man claiming to own her. It's up to our heroic duo to short though and clear this matter up.
Title is Misleading
The title of this episode really is misleading -- The Medicine Man doesn't play a big role - he is there for Hawkeye and Chingachgook to find but there is much more to the story than the tile suggests.
Good Episode for Halloween
We've got someone in the village of Wayneville trying to scare and convince others that a witch is around putting a curse on everyone. Leave it to Hawkeye and Chingachgook to find the person or persons causing the trouble.
Ethan Allen or Robin Hood
The Green Mountain Boy and Ethan Allen are fed up with the tax collectors and act like Robin Hood and his Merry Men. When things get out of hand it is up to Hawkeye and Chingachgook to sort things and set everything right again.
Not A Coward After All
When the Iroquois Tribe attacks a settlement and several are injured Tom Morgan flees and is labeled "The Coward" when he does - including his own father who was wounded in the attack. Hawkeye and his sidekick catch up to Tom who later proves himself to be a brave hero.
Hawkeye and Chingachgook Cannot Be Fooled
A group of white men try to frame a group of Native Americans for murders they didn't commit but leave it to Hawkeye and Chingachgook to solve the case like Sherlock Holmes and Watson would done.
One of the Better Episodes this 1st Season
A young Native American doctor named Tanama Brent who are dealing with hateful racists and wants the doctor out of there. Tanama refuses to leave with his family and is beaten. It is up to Hawkeye and Chingachgook to help Tanama and his family.
Pretty Good Episode
Here we have Hawkeye and Chingachgook seeking the help of Hawkeye's friend Benjamin Franklin after a secret is revealed to him and several people are murdered.
Could Have Been Better
This second show of the first season was a bit of a let down after the showed opened with a 'bang'. This episode finds Hawkeye and Chingachgook rescuing white people from being enslaved by the Hurons and Jake Flint.
The only good thing about this episode was to watch Lon Chaney duke it out on screen the old fashioned way - fist to fist. Was a fun watch.
Wonderful Opening Episode
This is a fabulous opening for the show. Hawkeye comes home to find his brother has been murdered after joining the British Army and is out for revenge.
Chingachgook (Chaney) is a wonderful sidekick/companion for Hawkeye (Hart)... they are like Tonto and the Lone Ranger together.
You cannot find a more incredible performance than this one from The Doors... the band pushes all barriers and breaks them down piece by piece, song by song. The energy of the band can be felt though your speakers as it creeps into your soul. Simply outstanding!
Le chaudron infernal (1903)
The Infernal Boiling Pot aka The Infernal Caldron.
Beautiful film - and a bit scary makes this a great little film to watch. I just wish this one was longer with a long story to go along with it.
The 400 Tricks of the Devil aka The Merry Frolics of Satan.
I guess I expected more out of this one from the title and some of the visuals are great but it's rather boring overall to me. We have the typical Melies-styled mechanically operated scenery which is neat to watch, the usual camera tricks where it appears people and furniture is to large for the trunks they are going into and out of and the fun imp frolics but this one seemed to be too long and drawn out in most of the scenes - for me it needed a bit faster paced scenes.
Worth watching in-spite of my mediocre review.
À la conquête du pôle (1912)
Drawn Out For Nothing
I found this one long and drawn out for nothing. It took 20 minutes for them to get into the air, 5 minutes of watching them "sail though the stars" (where the constellation of Scorpio knocks the ship with it's tail) just to get to the last 5 minutes of the adventure to see a huge Howdy Doody looking creature coming out of the water and for the group to jump on a cone that turns them in a circle. WTF did I just watch?
Les affiches en goguette (1906)
Not So Funny Posters
Well, here we have the early roots of slap-stick comedy in a not so comical film short. It's cute in it's way but really needed more for me to find it funny.
Le roi du maquillage (1904)
Nothing too special here - Melies draws a chalk picture and then becomes the picture he draws. Then becomes a clown and it ends up he's the devil and disappears.
Les cartes vivantes (1905)
I love the "Alice in Wonderland" feel to this one - the idea of bring to life the playing cards. I just wished it was longer - the Queen lasted longer than the King (he took off the King outfit too fast) but otherwise a pretty neat little film.
Le déshabillage impossible (1900)
Dumb - Just Dumb
A guy takes of his clothing to get some sleep and as fast as he takes them off more clothing appears on his body. Original idea but dumb.
Le mélomane (1903)
The Music Lover aka The Melomaniac
Well, it is different - I've never seen anything quite like this before. If you like silent film shorts and music you may get a kick out of this one.
