Man Seeking Woman (2015)
Dark and over the top
I was looking for a good romantic comedy to watch. Because there is a lack of it in the recent days, sadly. So when I learned about this show I wanted to give it a try.
And this show is not romantic. Not the type I was looking for at least. There's no boy meets girl and they live happily after yet. Though I understand that concluding this after watching only one episode is unfair. But my understanding of this show is that it is about how we perceive situations around us. We might be some good for nothing fellow but we always look for a 9 or a 10 as your potential spouses. And anyone who's less than an eye-candy is always perceived as the troll. The people our ex-spouses move on with are always perceived as 'the Hitlers' and they are always the worst human beings anyone can think of. So it is funny at times, but it's little darkish and it's more introspective than the 'feel good' type.
The acting is moderate. Not good. But the makers are definitely focusing more on addressing the major and minor contemporary socio- cultural and economic issues.
You Name It You Have It !!
Of all the shows that has started in 2014 I think this one is definitely one of the best.
The major part of the show concerns thrilling adventure of a cop- show, but unlike other cop-shows it has a little sci-fi factor in it. The Medical Examiner is an immortal.
With the suspense of police chasing and homicidal investigation, along with the 'Sherlock' like m.e is enough to keep the show running. But the show is even better with the incredible comic timing of the supporting caste, and the flashbacks which provide with a philosophic perception. How somethings, like love for a child or a good Samaritan is temporally and spatially constant.
The acting is good, if not brilliant and the chemistry between the leads and their supporting cast is also incredible, making this show a delight to watch.
I hope this stays on air for a really long time and stays true to its character and doesn't turn bad.
The Fosters (2013)
Worth your time!!
I started watching it because I was told that this series is about adopting and fostering little grown kids. Now this is something I am interested in doing in future and wanted to see a dramatized version of this. This show tries to incorporate lots of things and sometimes gets a little too messy but then again we'll have to remember that this is just a TV show. One thing I can say about this show is that no one call this show racist or politically incorrect at least when it comes to the casting. There's Caucasian, African-American, biracial, Hispanic, one Indian that I can think of. The characters are strait gay bisexual, a combination of everything you can think of. To sum up I think it's a great show and it's worth watching. However on a different note this show has made me question my ability regarding my life long choice of adoption yet it also has inspired me a lot as well.
