The Blacklist: The Kazanjian Brothers (No. 156/157) (2020)
Why do people hate this episode so much?
I don't even WATCH The Blacklist and I loved this episode! My parents were watching and I was hooked! Try this out, they have a (better than usual?) soundtrack under an awesome scene!
Charlie Jade (2005)
Disappointing
Long, boring, wasted potential. Would love to see an American remake.
Upload: Freeyond (2020)
Cliffhanger Central!
Glad this was renewed! I wasn't sure what to expect with this show or if I'd even like it, but it ended up being alright!
Not as good as The Good Place or as funny as King Of the Hill or The Office, but I think I like it as much or more than Parks and Recreation which is saying something!
(I don't love that show but I like the mockumentary style more!)
Glad this was renewed because I think it'll be better in Season 2 not just because they'll understand the show better, but because I think there'll be more conspiracy related stuff which I personally really enjoy!
(24 is one of the best TV shows ever if that helps you understand what I mean lol!)
I'd give the season as a whole a 7/10, and a majority of the episodes were a 7/10!
Cinema Sickness (2011)
Overlong "series"
I just like to imagine how his videos would maybe be some of the best on YOUTUBE if he just stopped posting every single day?
I don't know, I just feel like this guy isn't able to be creative as he wants to be because he's stuck posting every day? Maybe he wouldn't be that good?
But he seems like he wants to MAKE movies, or at least would be good at making movies regardless if he wanted to!
Dewlover420 Weekly (2017)
Actually not bias
I think these videos are either really well done, really entertaining, or both! I personally think this was some of my best work at the time.
Prodigal Son (2019)
Easier watch than Hannibal
I do enjoy Hannibal enough, but this seemingly takes some inspiration from that and basic procedurals and dramas and makes an easy to watch show that also has enough interest from the slight craziness!
I relate it to Hannibal because of the color palette and the fact that one of the leads is a serial killer, I guess aside from that it's not very similar.
BUT, Hannibal Season 1 was a procedural, and it still had some episode and elements of that in the following seasons!
There's also a bit of a bias from me because this has Halston Sage who's my favorite actress and I LOVE seeing that she has solid work that's doing pretty well for her!
I quite enjoy this show, and even watch it LIVE every week with my grandparents! (Missed seeing 16-18 live with my grandparents and probably will miss the rest of the season due to the quarantine.)
Overall, I personally enjoy this more than Hannibal (but realize it's not as well made or unique) and REALLY enjoy it as a show!
I'd say that since that ever since the 2016-2017 TV season was disappointing, I've been mostly disappointed ever since. It's been a while since I've been THIS interested in a new show!
(There's a list of my personal favorite premieres since the 2013-2014 season when I started watching nearly EVERY new show to enhance my reviews!)
dewlover420's Vloog: THANKSGIVING GONE WRONG!! (FOOD FIGHT) (2019)
Well I tried!
I tried something a slight bit different for most of the first half and I don't think it worked super well, but I'd already recorded it and decided to post it anyways! (Not that it's bad!)
It does feature the first score I've ever composed though, which for making it in a night I think is pretty great! Not really my favorite type of score but I like the spin I put on it enough!
Then after the "new style" I attempted I think it didn't get a whole lot better after! I still don't hate it, but I was starting to get a little burnt out, probably because I find the 2019 Halloween Special to be so great AND I wanted to do the 2020 Halloween Special already! (Maybe Zac will be in that one? Maybe Nicholas Slicer will be in that one?)
Overall this is just an average quality video that's slightly boosted because it's a holiday video with my family but loses that boost due to the fact that it's not as memorable as any of the other previous Holiday videos and specials!
dewlover420's Vloog: 1000 - HE FREAKED OUT WHEN THIS HAPPENED!! (HILARIOUS!!) (2019)
This was the end
Of the "season", and it was a season that had ran for 3 years! I wanted to go out strong, and I feel as though I did! I think it's still very funny, but more entertaining than usual! I think it's still well edited, but a slight change up resulted in assisting the claim that it's more entertaining!
Plus who can forget the epic ending that was a parody/tribute (when have I ever done a full blown parody?) to Malcolm in the Middle! (But you didn't hear that from me lol! I usually have people try and guess it lol!)
But that ending wasn't before another awesome action set piece that starts because of an argument or misunderstanding scene lol!
I really enjoy this video even now because it features my favorite people, great memories involving them and not involving them, and an ending that I'd accept as the ending to the channel ("series") if I'd have chosen to go that route!
(FYI I most likely would have just started posting only on "dewlover420 weekly" which would mean more movie and TV related videos!)
dewlover420's Vloog: I really liked Maily (2016)
Not a bad start
To the "season"! It's an improvement on "previous episodes" but still not at the peak of the "season" or "series" as a whole! Definitely still worth watching though, because it's short and well enough paced if you find the jokes funny!
dewlover420's Vloog (2015)
Definitely bias
But I don't love very much YouTube, and objectively speaking I'd love more unique channels like mine!
Better Call Saul: Magic Man (2020)
Good episode, looked terrible!
I had no problems with the episode aside from how it looked! I thought the coloring was terrible (and unusual) and that it just overall felt like the show was dipped in mud!
I still like the show and am excited to see more!
Human Target (2010)
Disappointing
This looked like it could be great but sadly it's not and unfortunately a large portion of the reason why is the extremely low budget! It was cancelled because it's not good so I'd just recommend staying away!
I'm a HUGE fan of watching shows that were cancelled because some of my ALL TIME favorite shows were cancelled! This is unfortunately not one of them!
(Season 2 is like a .1% improvement but not because of a budget increase! It's .1% better because the show figured itself out slightly more!
I actually think it's too much like Season 1! They could have made a second season that made the first season look so much like a different show that people thought "Oh so THIS is the show they wanted to make but couldn't because they were new!)
Birds of Prey: Premiere (2002)
Couldn't think of a headline
"Myths are just the truth a few generations later"
I laughed after that quote!
I love Aaron Paul but other than that I didn't care! Especially with the TERRIBLE Batman & Joker at the beginning of the episode! (That whole sequence was pretty terrible!)
I can't BELIEVE Mark Hamill voiced Joker! (Both because he didn't physically play him and this isn't an animated show AND because I can't believe he did this WB show!)
52% on Rotten Tomatoes makes sense!
Tru Calling: 'Twas the Night Before Christmas... Again (2005)
Not too bad!
It almost seemed like they knew they were going to be cancelled! I could see it just being the episode they were going to make regardless but nevertheless it was satisfying enough at least going in knowing the show was cancelled! I'm very sad that this show was cancelled though! It could have been a FANTASTIC 5 season show! (5 seasons is my perfect show because of Breaking Bad and MANY others!) No spoilers from me!
Tru Calling: The Perfect Storm (2005)
Basically just as good
But there is 1 new thing that makes it maybe a SLIGHT step down from Season 1 but otherwise I still love the show and am still going to watch and am still FAIRLY intrigued!
Tru Calling: Two Weddings and a Funeral (2004)
AWESOME ENDING!!!
My Dad said the whole Jack situation jumped the shark a bit but personally I was pretty excited and intrigued!
Tru Calling: D.O.A. (2004)
More and more amped for Season 2!
This had an AMAZING ending! Not to mention a good episode as well!
It kind of answered my questions!
My Dad and I also had some ideas of possibilities for what was going to happen on the show and I'm glad we were finally able to figure out if we were right in our mutual opinions or who was correct in our different opinions!
Tru Calling: Rear Window (2004)
Awesome Episode!!!
I love this show because it's an actually good "procedural" WHILE simultaneously having an awesome subplot that makes the "procedural aspect" even better!
This episode is definitely one of the best examples of the show being awesome DESPITE thinking EVERY episode is 10/10 perfect perfection! (2 episodes that are slightly less than perfect but JUST barely!)
It had an awesome "procedural" story with GREAT actors involved that were awesome to see! (Minor celebrity cameos!) PLUS the "main" story (subplot) gets advanced AWESOMELY!!!
This was definitely a pivotal episode because of the ending which I WON'T SPOIL! Definitely an episode that made me happy I'm FINALLY watching this show!!!
Thanks for reading if you did! (I think most of my reviews don't show my rating which is a 10/10 for this episode if you didn't figure that out lol! 😂😂😂)
Tru Calling: The Longest Day (2004)
Subpar episode
Every episode before this (and probably every episode after) has gotten a 10/10 from me! But this one not so much! While obviously not being terrible I just think it lost a bit of traction due to the way they executed the title! No spoilers from me!
(Short review I know! I just wanted to get it done and posted!)
Mr. Robot: 410 Gone (2019)
I get it but come on
I've been loving Season 4 SO MUCH but I just didn't like this episode and sadly agree with the negative reviews I saw!
Holey Moley: Leave the Golf to the Robots (2019)
Par for this episode
A few missteps including wasting Anthony Anderson! But still a good show and I'm confident that it was either a 1 episode issue or just me being frustrated I had to wait 2 weeks for the best summer show on right now!
Holey Moley: The Thunderdome of Mini Golf (2019)
This show is a major hole in one!
(Or you could say it's a major birdie!)
Still so great in the 2nd episode! I don't have as much to say because everything I said in my review of the 1st episode is still relevant now! Sad that I had to wait 2 weeks for the next episode!
Holey Moley: Putt Up or Shut Up (2019)
Top 5 TV shows of all time!
That's seriously what I said right after watching this first episode!
Best game show on TV right now and maybe the best game show on TV ever! It was so funny! Steph Curry wasn't wasted in my opinion! Rob Riggle was on top of his funny game! Even the female "co-host" was PHENOMENAL!!! It was even well shot and edited surprisingly! All around perfection!
I am a huge fan of Golf and Mini Golf and I played in High School but I don't think that changes the 10/10! I just think it makes it more of an 11/10 for me!
Ghosted (2017)
This is the weird thing the show did:
They started out as essentially a parody of The X-Files, doing a comedic monster of the week until Episode 10.
Then, when that didn't do well, not only did they go off the air for more than 6 months, (they actually went off the air after Episode 9), but they also got a new Showrunner, in Paul Lieberstein, who played Toby on The Office (US), (he is also Creator of The Office (US) Greg Daniels' brother-in-law in real life), and ran that show from Season 5 to Season 8.
He took over, and from Episode 11 to Episode 15, it was essentially The Office or Parks and Recreation, (or a show like those), except in a show that started out as a wasted The X-Files parody.
It also changed the plot a bit, with them obviously being unable to do a monster of the week thing, (at least, they couldn't have done it well.) Paul decided that the best plot would be for them to sit in an office all day, being boring and unfunny, worrying about how their office was bugged. There was even a whole episode trying to find, and follow, the wire.
Which, was so bad that it was funny, so I guess there could be some fake points, or something, there.
Then, the last episode? It's like the first half again. After a solid ending to Episode 15, me being kind of sort of hyped up for the series again, they switch the style YET AGAIN, and essentially leave that storyline unresolved. (But, they do answer another storyline, in the last episode/series finale episode, sort of.) I'm not sure if this was an episode from before Paul came on, or if he just wanted to have the series (he probably thought season at the time, if he did do this) finale episode be like the first half of the season, but either way it's confusing and annoying.
There. It's not a full on review, but I feel like semi-thoroughly explaing how this series changed it's style halfway through, is enough, lol!
Thanks for reading, if you did, lol!
Catfish: The TV Show: Brandon & McKenna (2016)
I'm a friend of both involved
I only watched because it was my best friend being pranked by another acquaintance in my graduating class and man was it just hilarious! Top 10 Brandon moments for me lol! I frequently make videos with him on my YouTube channel and also have an interview with Kharece on there! Just search dewlover420 if you want to see!
