Mad scientist Elmer Fudd is trying to turn normal creatures into devilish fiends. He tries it on a dog and it has a strange effect. He sets out to trap a rabbit and Bugs Bunny intentionally takes the bait. The formula has no effect on Bugs, but it does have the same strange effect on Elmer Fudd. Bugs mistakes a bear for being Elmer's monsterous outcome.
I have never seen Elmer Fudd as the scientist type. That throws me off right away. This never feels completely right. The plot is a lot of chaos and wild twists. It is chaotic fun, but it does border on messy. There is enough fun to rise above the messiness.

An old lady places her dog Sylvester comfortably in front of a roaring fire for the night. She finds Bugs Bunny frozen at her doorstep. She pushes Sylvester out and puts Bugs in his place. He is not happy with Bugs taking up his bed. He sets out to kill off the competition and Bugs retaliates. Both try to drive the other out.
This starts off fine, but it doesn't reveal how Bugs came to the front door. It could set that up more. It's all going fine for the most part, but I don't like the ending. There is a need to justify that ending and it's not there. This short is not quite there in the writing.

It is 1890 Paris. The Moulin Rouge is a Paris nightclub with the iconic red windmill out front. Jane Avril (Zsa Zsa Gabor) is the star performer. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (José Ferrer) is a starving artist with stunted legs from a childhood illness. He rescues prostitute Marie Charlet from a policeman and she becomes his model.
This starts with plenty of costumes and dancing in the Moulin Rouge set. It's a nice location and this opens with some excitement. I thought we may be staying there a lot longer. Instead, this mostly follows the taciturn Lautrec away from the club and the pacing slows right down when that happens. Maybe it could do more with him painting. The movie looks good, but it's rather slow. Ferrer is playing the character mostly in a reserved way. This feels longer than the actual two hours.
