Missed opportunity
3 March 2024
This film could have been much more but I think Vanga got carried away and added so much that he could not handle it all. Ranbir as always was amazing and so is rest of the cast. Bobby could have given more screen space, bit of back story or something to get the audience know him a bit more. Few unnecessary scenes and plots could have been avoided and perhaps shed more light on background or warring families. Having said that still better than most of the other stuff mainstream Bollywood churns out. The music is brilliant and perhaps one of the best albums in recent times. Let's wait for the sequel and hope Vanga makes it more engaging and entertaining.

Load of rubbish
28 December 2022
Was looking forward to seeing Charlie Cox as loved him in daredevil but this was utterly disappointing. Its one thing to take some artistic liberties but this is completely dumb and implausible from the first scene itself. The characters are half-baked, annoying and you hardly connect to any of them. Same old irritating dumb wife character and an annoying daughter who will go and get kidnapped without realizing her father is head of the biggest intelligence service of the country., wafer thin plot and just trying to hard to make it look thrilling. Looks like it was written by a bunch of kids after watching some old spy thrillers. Avoid it and save time.

Really disappointing !!
15 November 2021
Big disappointment. Besides a few funny lines from Reynolds there is nothing else to be excited about. For such a big starcast it looks like a very half hearted attempt to make a movie. Predictable plot, mediocre acting, bad CGI. Characters trying to explain twists and turns like they are addressing a child. I do not care about the illogical plots of interpol, russian prison in middle of nowhere, same cop turning up in different part of the world and what not. I enjoy escapism but this is just plain boring and banal. If you have difficulty sleeping put this on in the background, will definitely help.

Entertaining

Its not a masterpiece but still a good fun film. Predictable story but keeps you interested. Fairly decent CGI. Reminds you of those "ID day" type disaster movies which is not a bad thing at all. Its better than most of the useless crap that hollywood churrns out these days. Keep your expectations low and you will surely enjoy it.

Boring
25 October 2020
What a dissapointment! You can only stretch a joke to a certain degree and then it becomes unbearable. This is just a rehash of old film but more daft and ridiculous. Unwatchable and totally avoidable. Watch the first film again instead, and it will be more enjoyable than this junk.

Unbearable

Trying too hard. Intriguing premise but then that turns into something really silly and daft. Peg is a great actor but total miscast here. Trying to be evil but turns out really clownish. None of the other character is even a least bit interesting. Horrible acting by Lilly allen. Wonder what the hell were these people watching who give it 10/10. I mean seriously.

Outlandish !!!!!
12 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Great ratings on IMDB so thought I will check it out. First few episodes were great, interesting concept, time travel, great locations and all. But it was amazing how they were able to turn it into a such a mess. Unnecessary soft scenes, rapes, torture which were not required. Yeah don't give me that crap about art and all, this has absolutely nothing to do with art. Its just fulfilling some sadistic twisted persons wet dreams. The main female lead tries to be a strong headed woman but turns out be a selfish, snobbish fool trying to be a daft feminist in 17th century, its laughable. Skipped 2nd season checked a few episodes from season 3 and 4 in hope that it may become more watchable but boy I was wrong. One annoying female character wasnt enough i guess that they introduced her daughter as well who is more annoying and you feel not an iota of sympathy for her. Turned the male leads into some caricatures. How can we make it worse...lets add some more soft scenes and drag the story with really silly plotlines. Time travel portals in every part of the world where anyone can go in and come out.....Seriously outlandish I would say.

Really bad
12 August 2019
This was really painfull to sit through.. I enjoy watching Ferralls silly stuff but this one is really awful. And the female lead makes it worse...i mean how unfunny and annoying is this actress. And some people here giving it 10 stars....lol what the hell. Dont waste your time on this one. Instead pick anchorman again and you will have your two hours well spent.

Now that's an action film.
17 May 2019
It is rare to have a sequel better the original film but chapter 3 is way better than first and second parts. I liked the first two which i thought were fun films but this one was fantastic. Starts with a bang and then keeps you on the edge of the seat with incredible fight sequences. Few of them are really long and feel like going on and on and on but damn who is complaining. Bring it on. The climax hand to hand kung fu fights are freakin brilliant. I thought this one was the last in the triology but they set up the premise for another sequel in the climax and i can't wait to see the next chapter. If you like action films don't dare to miss this one. This is going to be a considered a classic action film.

Sarkar (2005)

Sarkar is Ram Gopal verma at his Best.
4 July 2005
I was always apprehensive of a film inspired from "The Godfather". But RGV proves once again that he is one of the best filmmakers in Indian cinema. Sarkar is as different from Godfather as east from west. Its a fitting tribute to the greatest film ever made and i don't think anybody can do a better job than this. You just can not make a better Indian adaptation of GF.

From the opening sequence till the last scene this is film-making at its finest. Camera-work is so amazing that it should put another Indian filmmakers to shame. The background score though repeated a few times is superb. The story is simple and predictable but its the execution which is simply excellent.

Sarkar also boasts of some excellent performances by Amitabh and particularly Abhishek who proves his Bachchan surname in the last 20 minutes of the film. Seems like if he gets the right directors and the right roles he will be able to form a league of his own. Sarkar is a brilliant film and some people are dumb enough to look for godfather in this film and some idiots watch too much chopra/johar crap that they have to criticise this film without any valid reason. Its a brave effort from RGV and it needs to be seen and admired. Well done Ram Gopal Verma and thank you for a great film.

Magnificent ! The Best of Indian Cinema
28 December 2004
This film is simply mesmerising. I don't think Indian cinema has ever got better then this. Its one of the best Indian films which doesn't play with your sensibilities like the other Bollywood crap. The story, the acting, the background score, the music..its simply brilliant. Every time that song *tum pukaar lo* plays i can feel a shiver down my spine. Check out the scene where Waheeda is standing holding the book and her saree suddenly flows with wind and this song starts in the background...damn good.

Its a pity that not many people know about this film. It should be shown to all the present day filmmakers in India including Chopras and Johars who just take you for a ride. The soundtrack of this film is even better and Gulzar has proved again with *humne dekhi hai un aankhon Ki* song that he is a genius. I assure you the last scene with Waheeda rehman will leave a lump in your throat. After watching this movie u cant do anything but just sit back and admire this brilliant piece of work and you think that Why the hell they don't make such movies anymore?

Among the best of Amitabh
28 January 2004
What a performance by Amitabh bachchan. Its very rare that an actor rises above the script, direction and every other aspect of the film. Thats what Amitabh has done here. His screen presence, the dialogues, expressions, the style...Simply brilliant. NO one and i mean no one (including Al pacinos and De neros) can do something like this. After watching this film i have no doubts....Amitabh is the star of the millenium, he is THE BEST, PERIOD.
