You (2018)
In an odd way, it's too realistic
The characters are real and lively that makes them feel almost relatable. Being in a toxic relationship for 3 years and believing that it was a good thing until I ended things and the stalking side of him came out, it's nice to see a show that makes me feel like I wasn't crazy for falling someone that was insane. If you are teetering whether or not the show is worthy of watching, I'd highly recommend it. It is the best show that gives characters realistic flaws and makes it all feel real. You will feel a roller coaster of emotions and question how safe you feel with your life choices.
Little Evil (2017)
Great Movie for Horror Movie Fanatics
As a horror movie fan, this movie is absolutely hilarious. If you've seen horror movies where a child has a demon within it, you'll understand the humor. The mom being oblivious to her child clearly being evil, the child with an imaginary friend, etc.
I honestly never laughed so hard in a dark comedy. Watch it and just appreciate the humor
The Stepford Wives (2004)
Watch it a second time to really get it
The first time I watched this movie I thought it was a cheesy movie with big name actors. I hated the characters and found it to be too unbelievable even for a fictionalized movie. I was annoyed by it and thought the storyline had potential, but just fell flat.
However, the second time I watched it, I realized a lot of subtle things that I missed the first time around. Johanna developed TV shows that destroyed people's marriages and ruined particularly the men's lives when their wives would choose the hunks over their spouse. Stepford was just like that, but for men to have the upper hand.
The men had the power over the women in a 50's TV show-like community. Johanna did not care about the men's lives that she ruined or even about how she was playing the role of God in people's marriages. Stepford was like her being in one of her shows. It was like a parallel universe.
I noticed the character development of how Johanna really tried to fix her marriage and cared for her husband over being in control, which was different from Claire who couldn't stand not being in control that she changed the mindset of everyone in Stepford.
If you hated this movie, give it a second watch. There will be a lot of things that you may have missed.
Hatchet (2006)
Slasher Comeback
There really haven't been any decent slasher movies in the last decade until now. So many people complain that this is a "typical slasher movie" when it really isn't. Slasher movies are all the same in the sense that the bad guy brutally kills his victims with a weapon, but it's the plot and storyline that makes them unique. As a person who loves horror movies and lives in Louisiana, I'd say to watch this movie.
Too many horror movies are about ghosts and supernatural possessions, but this goes back to the roots of the classic slasher films and horror movies. Seriously, watch this movie.
The Last House on the Left (2009)
Chilling to the Bones
If you watch the unrated version, be warned that it is psychologically intense. This movie doesn't go off of cheap jump scares or anything to spook its audience, but rather the rawness and real feeling that the scenes and acting provide. I remember feeling so eerie while watching this film that I realized that this was what horror films should really be like.
American Poltergeist (2015)
I really tried to enjoy this movie
I do try and give low budget movies the benefit of the doubt, but this movie was just too horrible. First off, the lady who owned the house was the absolute actress ever. I even stopped the movie just to look up if Tara Reid was playing the role. And then, the overall storyline was just so weird that I just couldn't take it. The dialogue was probably written by a high schooler who was trying to write out their fantasy of being a college student living in a haunted house with all their friends. I'll save you the time and tell you to NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS MOVIE
Sausage Party (2016)
People need to chill
Every negative review I've seen calls this movie "insensitive" and all, but if you actually loosened up you would find that this movie is actually hilarious. If you're looking for a movie to act offended by then congrats this is your movie. Fortunately, if you're someone like me who loves offensive humor then this is a perfect movie for you too
The movie has a deeper meaning to it if you really focused in on it and it really isn't about attacking different races, but rather showing that every race and religion has flaws and if we just stopped caring about it then we would be able to accomplish so much more. People are too quick to get offended these days that they miss the bigger picture.
The food orgy scene was definitely the most off putting part of the movie for me, but it overall does send a greater message than just that. There's so many levels of humor that it's hard not to enjoy. And if you're really educated, the arguments between the bagel and falafel are hilarious.
So ignore the negative reviews and the people calling this "racist." Watch it for yourself and just enjoy it. Some racist humor can be funny if you're able to take jokes about your own race.
