His Girl Friday (1940)
Train is leaving
The movie's plot does involve a train is leaving , and that might be the reason why everyone is talking so fast throughout the film.
The casting was good and so does the acting. But the script was totally absurd, as one moment they are using logic but in the very next moment they are abandoning every sense of reality. Additionally to make room for the comedy bit the script completely destroys the social prestige and reliability of press, justice system, law enforcement agency, prison, government and women by portraying them corrupt and deceitful. The film was not enjoyable in most parts because of the lack of gravity of the content and fast paced talking.
Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004)
Absurd: Vol. 2
As the title says the mission is to kill Bill at any cost. But on the way to killing him reality and logic was murdered.
The acting of the characters was very pretentious throughout the film. Even the powerful actors and actresses looked foolish because of the mixture of conflicting extreme emotions. And the story premise made the main character invincible whenever needed and other times she was extremely vulnerable. And the build up with the dialogues were not followed by a strong scenes or actions.
This type movie always lacks logic and have plot holes. But it lacked basic level of logic and abundant with plot holes. With a better script this movie could have reached the current highly overrated rating (8).
Shanghai Kiss (2007)
In the movie lead character who is a Chinese descendant american who tries to discover his identity and love of life. Watching this film will be nothing but loss.
The acting of all the characters seemed very average. The script was very erratic, it failed to convey a concrete message throughout the story line. As a result characters in the film were having futile epiphanies which leads to nowhere. The film had some good comedy bits but overall story failed to support the film.
Southern Comfort (1981)
It was really discomforting to watch the film and the sole credit for that inconvenience goes to casting.
It was story of few soldiers in unexpected trouble. The script could have done a lot better if only the casting was strong. Every single person in cast performed so poorly that the film became an eyesore. The dialogue delivery, the expression, the body language all were terrible. It will definitely be a waste of time to watch this film.
Not A Hit
This film builds up for an amazing expectations but fails to execute it.
The story is about cop who is trying to solve two cases about his girlfriend and a young girl. But to solve the mystery his all steps turns out to futile. And at the end everyone confess to their crime where the hero hardly did any unmasking. He just interrogated bunch of people, which he did not do tactfully.
The script was very weak with no captivating twist. The screenplay was bad as the timeframe and scenes often doesn't make sense. And the acting of the supporting characters did not provide any support because they were below par.
Oi voskoi (1967)
Mysterious Nature of Human
The film took place in remote village with some interesting people.
In the village there are some people who are well off and some are fairly impoverished. But both these groups try to improve their social status through the marriage of their children. But the parents were totally oblivious about their children's wish. Despina was the girl whose marriage create a lot of chaos in the regular life of the village. Three different party try to marry her which created some terrible misunderstanding.
The film has all these elements: drama, comedy, joy and sorrow in the story. The acting was average and the screenplay was decent. But in the film neither the script nor the characters stands out. It was a moderately average film.
The film had good potential with some amazing twists. But poor craftsmanship of the script ruined the movie for everyone.
The cast did their best with the story but it had so many plot holes which made their performance unenjoyable. The scriptwriter introduced new plots whenever he needed one with no continuation with previous story line. Characters got introduced out of the blue and after filling its purpose the character vanishes and doesn't reappear to give a sound ending.
Wandafuru raifu (1998)
After Common Sense
At first I liked the idea that after death one can keep one memory with oneself. But the notion of recreating the scene with elaborated efforts made the movie entirely pointless.
There was no definite story rather there was bunch of stories describing experiences of bunch of dead people. These stories has no correlation with each other to create any sort of interest in the film. And the struggle and hard work of the employees which was showed in the film lacked logic and presence of common sense.
The acting was not something extra ordinary. The screenplay was average. But the script let the entire movie.
If someone likes twist then this film will be a great watch for that person. The twist is not in the film story but in the film rating. It is not worthy of the rating it shows. Much worse, way worse.
The film had a predictable story which had a silly plot. The script was poorly written with bunch of cliches. The narration from the main character made the movie more unbearable. And the acting of the characters was horrible, especially the child actor Eli Michael Kaplan gave the worst performance of all the child actors I have ever seen till now. Additionally the action scenes were stale and unconvincing.
The Encore of Tony Duran (2011)
There is nothing big about this film except maybe the body type of the main character. It is a film about desperate persons try to get back the control of his life.
The script did not have any exceptional thing in it but you kind of like the story. As the casting was alright and the narration style was somewhat funny, one can easily enjoy the film. Gene Pietragallo (Tony Duran) did a good job portraying that his life is in the dumps.
It is an average film but one can watch it for light entertainment.
This is a story of reform, a tale of changing courses of the destiny. Drug ruins life, wrecks family, destroys future but sheer will power and concrete determination can help to redeem one's life.
Jerzy Gorski (Jakub Gierszal) is an addict. He introduces drugs to his rebellious girlfriend, which eventually ruins her life. But when Jerzy was denied access to her daughter he starts to reconsider his life choices. He finds his passion in triathlon and uses that to return into normal life.
In one hand the story is very uplifting and on the other it is equally heartbreaking. The film also portraits the fact that not everyone is rescued from the evil grasp of addiction. Rehabilitation is a very arduous process which can derail within a split second. Jerzy's struggle was beautifully showed in the screen. And the performance of Jakub Gierszal was quite commendable.
This is a good film to watch. It reminds us to be more resilient and supportive towards the addicted persons so the can flip their life back to normal.
Generational Sins (2017)
When this review was being written the rating was 8.1., which is downright ridiculous. The rating was definitely artificially boosted by the people who were involved in the making of this film.
The rating this movie now has, has no relation to the film. The story was dull, monotonous and full of lame stereotype remarks. The acting was below average, characters couldn't put any good performance because of their lack of skills and for the low grade script which was riddled with terrible cliches.
It would be unwise to waste time by watching this film. There are lot of ways to waste time, but unquestionably this movie is not one of them. NOT RECOMMENDED,
Watching this movie is not worth anyone's time. It doesn't even have the quality of a decent TV movie.
The script was so typical, it had nothing that could stand out. The story-line was was quite monotonous and equally predictable. There was no urge like 'what might happen next' at all. The performances of the main characters were unable to uplift the movie's standard. Often weak scripts can turned into an enjoyable film by a skilled performer. Sadly that wasn't the case for this film. The actors and actress were below mediocre, it seemed like bunch middle aged suburban people decided to make a film who has never acted ever in their life.
No one should spend their precious time watching this film. Not Recommended.
Min-soo (Beom-soo Jeon) was just a typical guy who was struggling through life until he taps into his evil side.
This film has an usual story line where the main character is facing financial troubles. So he started to do illegal things to augment his income but eventually started to like his life of crime. So there is nothing new in the script grab the attention of the audience. Casting was not exceptional either. The average performance of the lead characters made the scenes somewhat monotonous.
Not recommended. It is certainly not a must watch film but it would be a good choice to fill up a lazy afternoon.
Rang De Basanti (2006)
This film does not deserve this high rating.
The story was a complete of cliche, as well as it was quite pointless. Main characters took some brash decisions out of nowhere just to make the story complicated. Then the story went crazy from there. If the story was not forced to match with the past story line then it could have been a enjoyable film but abrupt illogical turns of events actually wasted the real potential of the film.
And the camera crew was trying to make the important scenes more interesting by shaking the frames but they over did that. As a result for those vital scenes camerawork was kind of sloppy and unappealing to the eye.
Bottom line is that, It was an average movie. But watching this film will not be a waste of time.
Tomb Raider (2018)
Tomb Raider was an adventurous character full of action, confidence and more importantly smartness. This film quite successfully ruins these aspects of Tomb Raider.
Nowadays these kind of movies has only one goal which is to prepare the plot for the sequel. And to do so they ruin the story with flawed logic and unnecessary complications. As a bonus - this story has no solid backgrounds for its characters, they just pop up in places and do things like: fall in love and fight; it is just too painful to watch. Not to mention the absurd action scenes where Tomb fights with bow and arrow against automatic guns, as well as the scenes where good guys can easily overpower bad guys and vice versa but they did not do it just for the sake of the movie.
Really disappointed. Not Recommended.
What Separates Us (2017)
What Separates It
Watching this film feels like as if something was missing. It had all the potential of an adult film, minus the sex.
This film has a story which is full of cliches. Here a good girl full of potential fell in love with a bad boy. And that is it, there is nothing more to the story.
The acting was so bad that it felt like watching an adult film but without the good bits. The camera work was quite sloppy, locations selection was terrible and the supporting characters was a complete joke.
Watching this film will be a huge mistake.
Meester Kikker (2016)
Full of Mixed Messages
This film is so nonsensical that even children will find that foolish.
The story of the movie made no sense what so ever. The writer wrote up characters and events without any backstory whatsoever. It had a fantasy part where human transforms into some other animals. And the reason for the transformation was absolutely absurd.
The script was mixed up with so many things that it didn't even add up sometimes. There was a little girl who seeks more attention from her mother but her mother was unable to do that. There was a teacher who had a close relation with that girl and found alone with her in inappropriate places and situations. But apparently it doesn't seem to bother anyone. This is what bothered me a lot about the film. So I don't recommend anyone to take their child to watch this horrible film.
You Were Never Really Here (2017)
You Will Never Enjoy Here
Not a good movie to watch and definitely doesn't deserve the high rating it has now in IMDb.
This movie lacks depth in the story. There are not much contents in the story so it became pretty boring after a while. Although the film had mystery, thriller genre specified in IMDb but there was no such elements in the story. Despite Joaquin Phoenix's okay performance the film was a huge letdown just because of the weak script.
Avoiding this film will be a very smart choice.
The story of the film was quite amiss. It has not much connection with the scenes which made the film out of sequence sometimes. And the acting part was worst than that. Everybody did a incredibly terrible acting job with an exception of Marielle de Rocca-Serra. She tried to deliver quality reactions but her co-actors were no help. It was a complete eyesore to see them acting.
Giant Couldn't Triumph
All in all the movie was average movie. This film could have use some more human emotions, and then the audience could feel a strong connection with giant.
The script was also average. With some little more emotional connections with different characters could made the script a whole lot better. Throughout the film it seemed that the characters are slightly detached from each other, which made the film a bit less enjoyable. Performance of the characters was a bit of stale; there was no extraordinary performance.
As far as the story goes, one can try the film in a slow evening when there is nothing to do.
Student No. 1 (2001)
The center plot of the story is downright ridiculous. In the R.N.R. College there is a senior who doesn't let anyone to study. He has a group of followers who make sure that no students can go near any books. Professors are also afraid of them, that is why they don't take any classes. This story doesn't make any sense at all. If they are not studying here then why anyone would take admission to this college?
Other than the flawed storyline, the acting was pretty average. The actors and actresses didn't put that much efforts on their work. There was hardly any good humor in the story. The story could have been little better with the help of some light comedy.
If you don't watch this film you will not miss anything.
Boone: The Bounty Hunter (2017)
Everything about this film is not only but also lame. Watching this film will be a complete waste of time.
The story is so weak that one can easily predict every next scene. The script was written with not much care and no characters had any strong role throughout the film. It had no thrill, no twist or any interesting aspect which could grab the viewers attention. There was no real comedy in the script either. But the acting of all the casts was a complete joke. Seeing their terrible performance made the movie thousand times worse.
Along with bad acting there was clumsy action scenes. Most of the action scenes looked pretty funny rather than exciting. Even the CGI and the technology they showed in the film were simply hilarious.
If one really wants to know how bad a movie can be then s/she can watch it.
Desert Hearts (1985)
This film has very weak story line, which is bound to bore the audience. So they tried to overcompensate it by putting a lot sexual attentions in it. But that could not do any good for the movie, as they failed to depict those attentions in a classy way.
The acting skill of all the characters made a huge dent on the film. As the acting of the main characters was quite clumsy, it was hard to endure it throughout the film. It seemed that they are struggling to act and deliver the apt emotion in the scenes.
The Yakuza (1974)
Even for 70's standard this film was quite lame. Everything about this film felt pretty dull and boring.
The most ridiculous thing about the film is the casting. There are bunch of old timers in this so called action based film, which made the action sequences a bit funny rather than exciting. And their acting performance in the film was below average also. The expressions in their face and the dialogue delivery seemed very amateur.
The script was a typical one, it had no strong or moving character which audience could admire. It neither had any gripping story nor have any dramatic climax.
