Friends with Benefits (2011)
A poorly executed film saved by cast chemistry
This movie prides itself from being different, but in the mist of it bring a fresh take on romantic comedies, it falls under the same garbage we've all seen before. Right down to the favorite song cliché, they watch a romantic comedy that is almost as ridiculous as what I witnessed.
Pros: Timberlake and Kunis work well together
It was better than "No Strings Attached", if that means anything
You'll remember "Jump"
Cons: Has to be raunchy to be different than, "No Strings Attached"
Does nothing new
The gay jokes were okay, but it seemed like there wasn't many.
While it does nothing new, "Friends With Benefits" is still a watchable movie if you are looking for a dumb comedy, to put it bluntly. You might get a few laughs
What was supposed to be a comedy, turns out to be an frustrating combination of clichés, bad writing and lackluster cameos
This movie was bland, boy was it bland. Well its about Cliff Starkey(played by the rather annoying Paul Kaye) who is a bowls player(I didn't know anything about the sport when I saw this, what I can assume is that its like Curling and Bowling). Well, this "plot" that he became champion at a local country club, but the "Dean-esque" country club faithful hate this and he gets banned. He and the obnoxious Vince Vaughn(did he own something to the director) turn it in to a glorified sport. However, I like Kaye's performance till the second half, when they made conflict out of thin air. This movie was passable but no way worth seeing.
Vampires Suck (2010)
One of the worst films I have seen in my life
That is a really hard thing to do, Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer. Great f***ing job, you really stooped to a new low. I hate this movie, I want that time back. This is one giant piece of s**t in movie history. Scratch that, this isn't even a film, this is just a mashup of sex/urinary or fecal jokes/lame reference jokes. Sure its not Friedberg or Seltzer's worst film(*cough* Meet the Spartans *cough*). This is just so bad that I think they killed the parody films forever. I know its masochistic to see these films with Friedberg and Seltzer's background but damn, this is a giant piece of hysterectomy fluid using the geysering effect from the depths of hell. I didn't even finish this, ungodly film. If I could give a film a zero, I'd probably give it to this dreck. They plague the cinema world with trash that is so unsightly that they could make a puppy cry and they market these films to adolescences to corrupt there minds with this decimation of the art of film. To lobotomize every child in the world is the job of Friedberg and Seltzer.
Love & Distrust (2010)
A strange film with good points but its shallow endings make it a mediocre film
Personally I thought it was a decent film. For me, it was totally hit or miss. Blue Poles felt pedant vs. dilettante which I felt was missing the concept and it felt so rushed that it was a bore. While, I enjoyed Pennies, I felt that Amy Adams performance was the brightest spot of the entire film. Like I said, the stories are definitely hit or miss. Grasshopper was decent as well, with the twist ending. While the Summer Love was awful due to the teenage angst portrayal by Robert Pattinson and the unrequited love. All the reviewers are mad that it was an anthology film, well obviously if the f***ing description at RedBox says its an anthology film. I am alright with seeing it once, but this film is really a one time thing and I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Its a 5.4 out of ten in my book
