  • Frank Zappa slices and dices John Lofton

A CNN show called Crossfire covered the PMRC (Parents Music Resource Center) topic twice with Frank Zappa as a guest, the first time in 1986 and then again in 1987. I believe that ultra-conservative columnist John Lofton underestimated Zappa's intellect, and he was clearly outmatched battling against the mustachioed icon. Listening to Zappa call Lofton "an ass," alone, is definitely worth 10 stars. Don't allow yourself to be misled by the "ass" comment. Frank Zappa is an extremely knowledgeable, articulate debater. Zappa even predicted the push for a "fascist theocracy," which would later appear, (seven years after his death), under the George W. Bush administration. Zappa promoted the idea of registering young voters, an idea that Lofton ridiculed. If you're into the subject of censorship, this is a definite must-see.
