It appears that people dislike this movie on completely political grounds, like it represents communism, or worse, unionism. It has a fine cast and has a lot to say. I think that what it has to say obviously offends enough people to keep the ratings down below the death-line of 6 on IMDb. I wouldn't have bothered with it except I admire the director. I'm glad I watched it and recommend it to everyone.
The message of the film is one hundred percent correct: college athletes should be paid for their labor, or better yet, athletics should be taken out of universities. Let the pro teams run their own recruiting farms, like in baseball.
