Vladimir LaFortune was born unto Haitian immigrants in Boston, MA. Born in the 1970's his childhood was ripe with cartoons, Soul music, Haitian Culture and 3 siblings in wedlock. After a tumultuous divorce his parents somehow came to an amicable place and co-parented when the word was just a myth to some. Vladimir began writing short stories by 6 years old in the first grade. The power of the pencil was obvious to the little thigh high Latch-Key kid very quickly. Having lived through the violent 80's of Boston Vladimir can only attribute that to the Hip Hop culture which he was immersed in and maintained a crew of B-boys and B-girls where he stood out as a champion MC and Dj. Every Disc Jockey has an array of weaponry in their arsenal and Vladimir who now went under the pseudonym Dj Tap was poised in Music knowledge and especially Rockers Reggae and Haitian Compa music. Through the years he was recruited by an indie film team out of Boston. They relocated to Atlanta, GA to express themselves and have written, produced and directed innumerable projects to date. Vladimir penned his first novel in 2018 titled 'The Exilien' and has a trilogy in the works currently. Writer, Filmaker, Dj and music producer can help scratch the surface as titles to describe this true lover of all things Multi-Media. To date Vladimir has created 'Commissary' a gritty series based on the insanity of the prison provisions system.
