The Mandalorian (2019– )
10/10
Judging by the reviews this is going to have people crash Disney plus for awhile
12 November 2019
I've listened to the soundtrack for Chapter 1 of the show without looking at the song names and so far it's good...i cannot wait until i see the show when its on bluray disc...i saw the footage during halftime of the football game last night and it looks like a real live action star wars show aimed at teens. It's not like r rated, as Disney plus content is aimed at families while hulu caters to adults and espn plus caters to sports fans. A bundle is already out for those who want it all.

screw charlie's angels reboot this is gonna be a good hit for Mangold
12 November 2019
Fresh off directing Logan and making waves with Walk the Line, James Mangold has created a car racing epic that is much better than Rush.

Ellen does what Oprah did
10 November 2019
After the popularity of her sitcom waned, Ellen decided to start a talk show which is still running. Great interviews that go viral on YouTube as well as fun and games makes this show a hoot!!

The Oprah Winfrey Show (1986–2011)

It was fun while it lasted
10 November 2019
When this show came on tv it became a favorite of my late nana. The show peaked when Oprah gave everyone a new car for free and when tom cruise jumped on the couch to promote his new movie war of the worlds.

The king of Sunday morning shows for 40 years
10 November 2019
Since its debut in 1979 on cbs this popular show has become a mainstay of my family and worthy of recording on dvr unless there's breaking news and sports on cbs. The format is a bit similar to 60 minutes but more lighthearted and informative. The best part of the show is near the end where the moment of nature featuring animals and trees completes a 90 minute show.

thank god for youtube to revisit this show....
7 November 2019
When this first aired on a local PBS station in Chicago along with many PBS stations in 1975, it became a huge hit and coined the prhase Two Thumbs up!!! The show would go on into syndication on network TV under Disney and became the most popular movie review show of all time, paving the way for rivals and even Youtube critics and a cartoon parody starring Jon Lovitz.

A cartoon that was ahead of its time
7 November 2019
When this show first aired for only one season on ABC, it became a hit, then became more popular when it reaired in reruns in the mid 80s when Hanna Barbera produced new episodes that would last until 1988 with the help of Toei Animation. A movie later followed, which was very hyped yet failed to make money and is now a classic. They also met the flintstones in a tv movie and have met wrestlers and are soon to be in a live action movie soon.

Labyrinth (1986)
8/10
underrated movie, great soundtrack by Bowie
7 November 2019
When this film came out four years after Dark Crystal showed how dark a puppet movie was made, it, like Dark Crystal, failed to make a profit in North AMerica yet made more worldwide. Both films have seen become cult classic in their own right. Labyrinth is also the big debut for Jennifer Connely, who also was in Once upon a time in america. David Bowie is the goblin king and boy he can sing!!! Lucasfilm produced this film alongside Jim Henson and Tri-Star and I saw an article in Nickelodeon magazine about the making of this big budget fantasy which featured a cgi owl in its intro!!!

Defintely David Bowie's best work alongside Labyrtinth
7 November 2019
This is David Bowie's first role in a fiction movie, and second if you count his concert movie Ziggy Stardust, which wasn't released until 1983 after the success of his music. It's well done and it's a bit slow but worth watching.

The first Vietnam movie to win best picture three years after it ended...
7 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Now known mostly for the russian roulette scene, this movie, released two years before Heavens Gate made him less popular, tells about the dark side of vietnam and its side effects. It's kinda long but worth seeing on a big tv with surround sound.

The horror the horror...
7 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
My dad first saw this movie 40 years ago in its limited release at the now changed Ziegfeld theater in midtown manhattan in 70mm Dolby Stereo 5.1, the first movie to be mixed in that format which is still used today in digtal form. I saw it on vhs and tv then got the dvd which is a two disc set containing the theatrical cut split into two discs and apocalpyse now redux which is the extended version in both the 70mm aspect ratio as intended by its photographer. The remastered bluray release and the 4k final cut is the scope ratio that most people saw in wide release and on tv and i'll have to watch the final cut to see if its the best version of this movie, which was originally penned at six hours before Copolla cut it down to around 3 hours. The film became Copolla's most provacative work a year after The Deer Hunter won for best picture, becoming the first but not last movie based on Vietnam to win an Oscar. A documentary borrowing a title from the novel that inspired this movie, Heart of Darkness, was made for vhs and became a hit. The soundtrack also is well known, featuring 60s songs including The End by the doors, eight years after Morrison died in his bathub after taking drugs. Laurence Fishburne makes his film debut in this movie and this film is not for kids.

one of the weirder films from CNN Films...
6 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Based on a true story that dominated NYC culture in the 80s, this movie tells the story of three men separated at birth who reunite 19 years after they were born and become superstars. They even had a cameo in Madonna's first movie!!! Sadly, the third one commented suicide and the rest is history.

Warning: Spoilers
After the failures of t3, salvation, and genysys damaged the reputation of the Terminator Brand as well as the short lived Sarah Connor tv show made the franchise like what Star Wars is now, it was time for James Cameron to continue the fight after t2 with Dark Fate, which picks up where the second one left off. Arnold of course is back as an aging Terminator, along with Linda Hamilton, still as badass as ever, along with Mackenzie Davis as a sexy good Terminator along with some new faces. DIrected by Tim Miller, known for the hugely popular Deadpool movies, and scored by Junkie XL, this film is worth seeing in Dolby or Imax and is one of the best action movies of the year. Once in a while, there's a break in the action where all the good guys meet up at an enclave to chill, but it doesn't last for a bit long.

I never heard of this movie when it came out until i've seen it being shown in heavy rotation on tv and online
31 October 2019
I like that it's rated pg-13 since the target audience is children and teens. In an age where stranger things dominates retro culture, this movie tells of a simple time, in the second term of Reagan for millions of Gen X ers and their millenial friends. Think of it as the House of Frankenstein 80s style. Created by Taft/Keith Barish, who also did the more famous Running Man that year, and released by the same studio, Tri-Star, this movie flopped at the box office yet has found new life via tv and online airings and a growing cult following. A remake is not out of the question yet. Happy Halloween!!!

The multiplayer is where its at as its the most popular part of the games. There's hardly any lag and you can play with other players on other consoles with cross play. Very well done, Activision, well done.

I first heard of this film when i saw a piece of a trailer before Krippendorf's Tribe and was curious to see if this movie could be better than the last few disney movies which were kinda boring. Boy I was surprised. This movie is amazing. Can't wait to see what the remake has in store...

Go see this movie while it's still in theatres before Training Day gets rebooted for a new generation. The casting is well done and the movie is well shot and the pacing is great. The soundtrack is awesome too. This movie is not for kids.

This follow up to the 1995 original exceeds expectations and crushes them. Killer soundtrack, killer action, killer babes, and killer laughter. Much longer and more fun than Pearl Harbor, this film is a must watch for action fans of all ages. Highly recommended.

Nearly 25 years later, still one of Michael Bay's better movies
19 October 2019
As a protege of Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson, who died after the movie came out before The Rock was released, Michael Bay made his directorial debut with this modestly budgeted buddy comedy that spawned a sequel and another one coming out next January, all starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. THe title of the movie is based on a popular song used for the classic tv show COPS, and both movies including this one have a killer soundtrack. Will Smith got his big break with this movie before getting into an even bigger movie with ID4 (soon to be dwarfed by others including Alladin). Martin Lawrence, fresh off from his hit tv show Martin on fox, is the buddy of will smith.

Very good Disney movie that ranks among the darkest 3D of them all...
19 October 2019
Five years ago, Disney created what would become the highest grossing Disney villain remake of all time, Maleficent. Angelina Jolie became the star in a movie that continues to delight audiences through streaming and heavy rotation on tv. The sequel, which picks up years after the end of the movie, finds the title character discovering her roots and meets new foes and friends. The budget is a bit higher in this one, and so is the length and scope of the movie. Even though its rated PG, it might be too scary for toddlers and babies to enjoy.
