Dune: Part Two (2024)
100/10, DV is a genius.
Honestly, this is the first time I went to watch a movie 3 times in theaters, and I don't regret any time I went to see this movie. It's jist so beautifully put together, words cannot describe how I feel about this movie. You feel everything in this movie, sad, satisfied or excited and even more. Throughout this movie, DV unlocked the feeling of goosebumps and crying for the people who didn't experience this when watching a movie. That speech and ending had me have insane amount of goosebumps and tears. Especially with that Hans Zimmer score, it's one of the best scores in movies ever. It's Hans's best work so far. I feel like each song stuck to a title, being 'Desert Spring'. I felt goosebumps with any score. This movie showed how you introduce a villain, you do not go just saying, "Oh No! A new threat is coming! I need to get Superman to get him!".
You should definitely go to an IMAX/ Dolby cinema to go watch this. You can see how DV made this especially for IMAX, with the whole movie being shot with IMAX digital cameras. The cinematography done in this is excellent, acting done was also incredible with Timothee Chalamet and Javier Bardem. Zendaya on the other hand can feel a little bit weird as in the book she wasn't this rebel but I can understand how DV makes Zendaya like this because Frank Herbert wanted Paul to be an anti-hero but changing the script a bit can fully convey the message of Paul being an anti-hero.
Overall, I want to watch this again as soon as it comes back in IMAX for the third time, but I will look for IMAX GT, to get the full immersive experience of IMAX, I do not want to watch this online because the immersive experience of Dune will be gone as the screen is just too small, even though I have DTS sound system at home. This makes Star Wars sequels look like trash. I hope DV will make Messiah be even better and try and make Alia look like an 'abomination'.
Fly Me to the Moon (2023)
I wanted to like it, but...
After watching the trailer, my expectations were set high. The 1997 part and the 2017 part were the only parts necessary. The story should've changed. I know the protagonist has bad luck finding a boyfriend because everyone turns out like her father, but it should've been conveyed in a better way. It should've been a postive ending instead of a negative ending, Yuan Yuan smoking like her father is a terrible idea, she knows what happened to her father so she wouldn't've followed him. The dad not quitting smoking is so bad, I feel like the Mom not getting a divorce is a stupid idea, which wife doesn't divorce their husband after he's in jail? The 1997 part was at least ok, the mom taking her kids back to Hu Nan would've been such a good idea, and maybe the Dad comes back but the mom hates it. I thought this movie would make be cry due to the trailer but it turned out making me cringe. The camerawork after the 1997 part looks like something out of a Roblox youtuber's camerawork. Everything turns so bad after the 1997 part. Yuan Yuan speaking japanese all of a sudden is very weird, how can she learn Japanese all of a sudden? Overall the script could've changed a lot, and the production team did a very very bad job of making what the movie is, its title is Fly me to the moon' but they made it into 'Take me to hell'.
Perfect Days (2023)
pretty good.
This film explores the emotions of life, such as the happy and the sad.the protagonist repeats his daily life habits, and we see that. Addidtion to that he is met with a lot of emotions and tries his best doing his job and helping others. All he wants is to make good of life and try not to waste it.
In the ending scenes, he is quite sad and tries smoking and drinking alchohol, he realises that doesn't help. This movie is relatively simple to understand, but if you want to enjoy it to the full extent you might wanna close your eyes when the protagonist is listening to the music. Honestly, a solid 9/10.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
The rise of skywalker more like the hell of skywalker
The extremely bland plot was, a terrible way to end the series,so many questions, like a 5-year-old had an imagination and this is what it was.
How did Palpatine resurrect? Just some motivation can defeat a Sith lord? This is horrendous.
Were they just so fascinated by the 5-year-old's thinking, that they put the script in?
What is this abomination? How is this even a passable movie by the directors?
What is this love-hate relationship between Kylo and Rey? They are trying to piss us off with this.
They tried to make us think Chewie was dead but it failed terribly. Rey was always so frustrated with hatred that she was almost like a Sith lord.
