Don't waste your time on this one. Clever advertising and $$$ couldn't save this from being one of the biggest flops in the history of Venezuelan cinema. It has a weak script, bad acting and although it was beautifully filmed on HD, the movie looks like a Tide commercial. I gave it two stars just because Seu Jorge is in the movie. I find it incredible that people rate this with 10 stars. Is this really the best movie you have seen? Now I understand why Venezuelan cinema can be so mediocre, the lack of self criticism is incredible..... I f you want to see good Venezuelan films, watch El pez que fuma and Araya. Stay away from the rest.

Hearts in Atlantis
(2001)
This is one of the worst movies
21 February 2002
I can't believe that there are people who actually think this is a 10 out of 10 movie. Hearts of Atlantis is the perfect example of how Hollywood can transform millions of dollars into crap.
The script is flat, no climax, only a succession of "wise" and "literary" one-liners by Hopkins and "cute" ones from the little kid. It's just simply boring. Bad adaption from a King story. I guess you have to read the story first in order to fully understand how the director and the screenwriter messed up Hearts in Atlantis.

K-PAX
(2001)
The movie is OK, but it's a remake
28 November 2001
K-Pax is a good movie. Spacey plays well as a mental patient-alien, and the movie never goes overboard with drama. Let's say that it is well balanced.
What surprised me from K-Pax was its similarity to an 1980's Argentine film entitled "Man Facing Southeast", directed and WRITTEN by Eliseo Subiela. The movie is about... guess... a man who appears suddenly in a mental hospital claiming that he comes from outer space, and through the movie, he helps people. You can check this out on this site, just look for the film I mentioned. Is this a uncredited remake or what?
