Relentless tedium
18 July 2023
This film could have been so much more. It drags itself from beginning to end and it seems that parts of the dialogue and film are missing.

Fight scenes are pretty naff and the plot is just abysmal as it seems to jump around all over the place with no rhyme or reason to it.

If you want a film that delivers a good scrap then this is not it. Save yourself the time and effort it takes to watch and find something better. At just shy of 80 mins runtime I think its been cut down far too much for any semblance of sense and continuity to shine through.

I gave it 3 stars because that's as about as much as it deserves.

It's rather boring

Well it's like watching paint dry. Storyline is dreadful and it's like the actors couldn't be arsed with it either. I won't be watching it to the finish.

An enjoyable film

I enjoyed this film immensely. Some great cameo appearances and excellent SFX throughout. Unfortunately I guessed how the ending was going to play out and it was a bit cheesey however it worked well.

It's better than the tripe that came out a couple of years ago.

Go give it a watch and enjoy it for yourself!

The Wheel of Time (2021– )

Remember it's an adaptation of the books!
21 November 2021
I have really enjoyed this adaptation of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time. As a long time fan I am happy that it has finally been put onto screen.

If your a fan of the books, you must first and foremost remember that this is an adaptation and it will not follow the books exactly. Things have been changed in order for the story to flow with the characters, likewise things have been removed in order for the series to be shown in a timely fashion and to meet production costs. Accept it for what it is!

The cast are brilliant and they portray their characters very well. Rosamund Pike as Moirainne is amazing! Likewise Barney Harris as Mat has sold his character to me in a big way.

The scenery in each shot is spectacular as are the special effects used for the shadowspawn and the use of the one power!

The best way to deal with this series if you are a long term fan is to get it into your head that the books are one format and the series another of something you have enjoyed.

If you've never read the books, then just watch the series and stay away from the naysayers on social media.
