A Star Is Born (2018)
COOPER AND GAGA´S BIOPIC!
4 time -remake of a Melodrama of love where in the same couple you smell the failure and success. The oblivion and the decline of one star and the rise of another. The lights and shadows of the show world in the bosom of a couple. He, alcoholic and screwed, nothing new from the others remakes. She, aspiring artist of success. They unite their destinies forever. I can only highlight the performance of veteran Sam Elliot as the most believable character in the film, while Copper and Gaga recreated their own past. A bitter taste of confusing elements which tries to turn the blind eye to an outrageous fact which I cannot mention to avoid spoil alert. Dull, slow, confusing, depressing. The music is fine but at times lurid. Nothing new from its 4 previous remakes. Just recommended for Gaga´s fans and Cooper lovers. I watched it twice, I usually do that in order to have my clear thoughts of a fim. I would not in the world watch it again!
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
God save the Queen!
Bohemian Rhapsody oozes cinematic lucidity and enthusiasm wherever you look at it.
Despite the fact that some analysts have indicated that they see a superficial proposal in the film, not getting deep into Freddie Mercury´s, internal demons, struggles and controversies, I think that If we do not understand it as a subtlety for all audiences, what must be clarified is that it is not necessary thanks to the extraordinary energy and the ostensible talent that Bohemian Rhapsody contains and that drag us to joy and even move us. The intelligent dialogues, with spark and dramatic eloquence. The incredible performance of Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury. Scenes follow one another with clever transitions, in a continuum of pure rhythm, and thus, its complex structure seems elaborated with simplicity since it flows with an alluring force.
Rami Malek gives us an incarnation of Freddie Mercury so incredible that he deserves all the awards and recognition that can get, which happens to the point that the performances of his competent co-stars are enhanced by his alone presence.
'Roma' is one of the most wonderful films of the decade: a prodigious work of art
Rome ', more than a movie, is a piece of life. A piece of the heart of Cuarón in which the Mexican, in a prodigious exercise both in form and substance, and combining a sincere nostalgia, a great claim component, and an emotional scale as dazzling as the amalgam of grays in his photography, which is not afraid to drastically change from the tender to the heartbreaking, it makes an eternal secondary in real life an unexpected protagonist. An incidental thread that serves as an excuse for the director to capture on screen an era, a setting, a socio-political climate, textures, an amalgam of memories and a veritable whirlwind of sensations on the surface. A sample of unbeatable cinema, unique and unrepeatable that invites us to observe, judge and remember with its architect a brief passage of its existence with the greatest authenticity; which, in the times that it runs, is something unpayable.
