Company Ink (2004)
Company Ink Review
Company Ink is the first of its kind. Made by an American Desi filmmaker from the Washington DC area, this movie is a cross between American Pie and Office Space. At first, I was wondering where the plot was going, but watching it through to the end was definitely worth it.
The movie opens with a typical day in the life of George A. Stokes: software engineer by day, "Dream Team" member by night. At least that's what he calls his group of friends. Not very impressive to his ex-girlfriend Claire. Especially since she became his supervisor for a week while his boss is out of town.
The plot gradually unfolds as we see the shenanigans ensue between George and Claire. When the boss finally returns, everyone in the company is left facing the same accusation. Someone forged the big man's signature and stole money from the company's bank account. Who could've done it?
House of Sand and Fog (2003)
Correction for to Breakneck's comments
I just finished watching House of Sand and Fog on DVD, and I have to say, it is by far one of the best movies I have ever seen.
I also watched the Special Features on the DVD, and would like to make a few corrections in your comments on IMDb.
The story takes place in northern California and not Southern California. Note the Golden Gate Bridge shown on many occasions. The house scenes were actually filmed in the Malibu area, however.
Also, Jennifer Connelly's character is recovering from a drug problem, not an alcohol problem. Her mother implies that there is some problem, by talking about some rehab program. But when she first sits with the deputy and tells him that she hasn't had alcohol for 3 years, she also says that alcohol was never a problem. Anyway, the drug problem was mentioned in the Special Features on the DVD.
