Not Bad at all
I guess I am watching too much Korean Drama. Picked up on Mr. Han immediately. For those that do not know, he was the infamous Joo Dan Tee in Penthouse-Art of War, a part he played to the hilt who met an appropriate end. If you have not seen Penthouse, do so. It lasted for three seasons condensed and each one was better than the other. Really good stuff-much much better than what the Americans offer.
After the shock of seeing Joo Dan Tee as Mr. Han wore off, I began to compare him to his role in Penthouse which is similar but not quite as bloodthirsty or devious. I wish they had used adults instead of kids because desiring fame is something that is not limited to teenagers. Actually, I thought of Rod Serling and a number of English Short Stories(Devil and Daniel Webster) and even Star Trek as models for this series. So, watch this and let your imagination go to the way things could have been and remember,-be careful what you wish for, you might get it. And, whatever you do, stay out of the counseling room if you won't want to run into Joo Dan Tae.
The Twilight Zone: A Kind of a Stopwatch (1963)
Interesting, but pales in comparison
My two favorite Twilight Zone episodes are "All the time in the World" and "Walking Distance:. All the others.clump together in the middle. I do not share the hatred others have for this episode because I appreciate the premise and ignore the character. I felt real sorrow for Burgess Meredith and still do each time I see it because I can envision myself playing that part. 'The sorrow for me would be overwhelming and I would look for a way to end it. The current fellow is nothing more than an actor reciting his lines. But, let's carry the fantasy a little further. Our 'hero' makes it out of the bank with watch intact. What now? He presses the stem and the world returns to normal but what of him? He is standing in the middle of the street with a cart full of money. What does he do? Not sure about the technology but I would think there would be some type of camera in the vault as well as the bank area which are now running. How about cameras on the street? Logically there would be some. Then what about the money- any of it 'marked' for government use. The obstacles increase the longer our hero keeps the money in its unaltered state. Of course, he could keep pressing the button but now it's an hour show and what other rabbits would he continue to pull out of the hat? In all, an excellent illustration of why "All the Time in the World" is in a class by itself and this one is an also-ran.
Adam-12: Gus Corbin (1975)
Hard to Believe
If I told you this episode was broadcast 41 years ago and starred Leroy Jethro Gibbs, would you believe it? Or would you care? It took me a while to recognize him but my wife caught it right away. Good episode and Harmon makes all the rookie mistakes required in a Jack Webb production. By now Molloy was on the way out so he only makes a token appearance. Still a good episode from a time when cops were respected even by the bad guys.
