Score for Season One only...

I'm not sure why these 2 shows are grouped together. The first season was so good, I tore through it! The fashion, the style, cast. It was brilliant. As soon as I'd finished it I bought the second season.

The second season is not even comparable. It's a completely different show. If it had another name, I wouldn't have paid it any attention. Shame because I really like both leads - in other stuff they've done....

Just a bit hammy, overacted, crappy plot. Just generally a bit, blah. I got a couple of episodes left and I might get round to watching them. Or not. Whatever.

The Deceived (2020)

Rebecca?

I'm on episode 1 and am already struggling.... I actually had to check online to see if this is a homage to Rebecca. The fire, creepy house, simple girl, Mary (Mrs Danvers), a pregnancy, husband who clearly hated his dead wife, even the dead wife's name begins with R - insignias all over the place! It's actually almost funny. Every time he says Roisin I say Rebecca in my head. I'm gonna stick with it just to see if there are any more similarities, maybe the wife didn't die in the fire, she actually drowned instead. Main female character seems pretty wooden.

Upside - the main guy is very easy on the eye!

Oddly intriguing.

I watched it to the end, but I don't know why... Found Gus incredibly irritating. Secondary characters are better, but all seem to be gurning. Weird.

The One (I) (2021)

I'm on episode 3...Great concept. Badly acted. Main character is like a wooden Disney villain. It's OK, but I wouldn't rush out to tell my friends to watch it.

Song of the Sea (2014)

Perfect in every way

Magical and moving. Good for the soul. Had me my husband and my two children mesmerised from the start. It made me want to be in the sea. Absolutely beautiful.

The Mandalorian (2019– )

Back to Star Wars

Made me want to start a campaign to remake all the new Star Wars films with these directors and Jon Favanou at the helm. I loved both series, but the first especially is magic. So true to the original Star Wars feel. It's like watching A New Hope all over again. I highly recommend watching the Disney Gallery documentary series which has interviews with the directors and shows the making of, it'll make you love Mando even more.

Made me want to start a campaign to have all the prequels remade with these writers and directors at the helm. So true to the original Star Wars feel. The first season (and the last episode of season 2) especially is magic, it was like watching A New Hope all over again. After you've watched this I recommend watching The Gallery mini series which talks to the directors and explains the making of. Makes you love it even more.

It's difficult to know where to start... Ewan Mcgregor. Let's start with him. He's awful. The kids who plays Anakin is awful. Jana Binks - awful. Blue screen makes it look like a computer game, awful. Darth Maul only in it to sell merch plus he's awful. Awful film. Awful.
