Alice & Jack (2023)
Frustratingly awful
I can not think of a more detestable character in literature than Alice!!!!! I'm afraid it's done Andrea Riseborough no favours in my eyes as an actress. Great as she is, I'd be put off watching her in anything else.
I feel bad saying it but, I find her ugly, inside and out. No redeeming features to me I'm afraid.
I only watched it in the first place because I love Domnhall Gleeson. However, whilst I don't hate his charcter, I do find him frustrating.
I can't understand how someone could be such a permanent doormat as Jack. He reminds me of mistresses who give up their whole lives to be with a married man whilst he gets the whole shaboodle with his wife and family. I've stuck with it because of the good reviews but I still hated it. I had sympathy for supporting characters such as Jack's wife but lost all sympathy for Jack.
Invitation to a Murder (2023)
The stars are for Blunder
I was so looking forward to this. Sounded just up my street but unfortunately it was dire. It started off with promise but the acting was poor as was the writing. Mischa Barton was terrible. Didn't quite carry it off.
I give almost full marks though for the setting. The house and props were wonderful and deserving of a very juicy mystery. What a shame it fell flat.
The outstanding star of the show was Blunder, the dog. What a wonderful doggy actor. He outshone the humans by miles. I actually give 10 stars to him. He was amazing. I've fallen for him and hope to see him in many more films. A little darling.
Coyote Creek Christmas (2021)
Not very good
I don't know why I keep watching these Christmas movies as they are all terrible! All the female leads seem to be the same - huge faces with enormous lips, far too much makeup especially lipstick, fluffy hair and endless wardrobes full of Christmas jumpers, scarves and bobble hats.
Silly, mushy smiles beaming round at everyone who would all be lost and dismal if were not for the shining light of the leading lady. And this is before I get started on the repetitive script. How come Paige was not mad at Mum and Dad for selling rather than at the man buying the Inn? Made no sense. I did stick with this to the predictable ending but what a waste of time. The child playing Noah was great though. Well done to him.
Age of Ice (2014)
So bad it's hilarious
With a rather good opening, this film rapidly spiralled into atrociously bad. Bad plot, extremely bad actors, dreadful continuity, unbelievable scenes and dialogue. Just awful in every way!!! Total rubbish i'm afraid.
