Euphoria: All My Life, My Heart Has Yearned for a Thing I Cannot Name (2022)
Plot isn't everything
This is a really great episode like much much better then the season 1 finale. On here I've see quite a lot of mixed reviews saying things like "too many plot points aren't tied" and yes I agree there are like basically 2 or 3 cliffhangers in this episode which can be unsatisfactory to some people and if ur in that boat I completely understand. However...
In my personal opinion plot isn't everything in fact it's is very meaningless in good storytelling and what this episode does fantastically is drama but more importantly themes.
The theme of loss and addiction is pretty much the overall theme of the show especially when focused on Rue and this episode pretty much ties up this theme and rues character arc. If this was the last episode of the entire show I think it would be a great ending maybe a scene or two with lexi and Fez could of been nice but I can respect u can only fit so much into an hour.
I'm sad AJ died because he was one of the coolest characters in the show although I do believe it makes sense.
To be honest I can't really be bothered to talk about the rest of the characters because those three along with maybe Nate and jules are easily the best.
At the end of the day this wasn't necessarily the most satisfying ending however it was a fitting one (especially for Rue and Lexi) to end a messy yet always entertaining season.
Ozark: The Beginning of the End (2022)
Bang!!!
Here we go again. Ozark starts of the 4th and final season with an absolute bang. New alliances are made. An antagonist is introduced and plot lines arise. The cinematography is still extremely grey and de saturated and the music is still full of tension. This is an absolutely fantastic opener and I can't wait for the rest of s4.
Cobra Kai: The Rise (2021)
THIS IS ENTERTAINMENT!
Now despite the season as whole not being perfect this episode comes pretty damn close. It's teen drama at its finest and it's the climax of probably the most emotional relationship in the show between Johnny and Robby. The action was intense and the characters (other than Silver) felt real. I'm extremely hyped for s5 as this is definitely my favourite episode of the series thus far.
Mr. Robot (2015)
Perfection
Greatest tv show ever
Sam esmail a genius
Rami is one of the best actors in the modern day
If season 5 of breaking bad had my basketball skills then season 4 of mr robot has mj basketball skills when it was 1992.
Hello Elliots last 7 minutes is the greatest thing ever. I'd take this over anything on this app amd I think I'd pretty much be able to back it up.
Mr. Robot: Hello, Elliot (2019)
Perfection encapsulated in 50 minutes
Yeah I really don't care about any of the small details that weren't answered because this is possibly the best episode of television ever. I feel like a lot of things get compared to the breaking bad episode ozymandias which is far as that is a phenomenal episode of tv however the last 7 minutes of this episode genuinely destroys the entirety of breaking bad due to its emotional transendence it takes you too and when that stupid song starts playing that gets played over nearly every sports montage I simply couldn't hold back from balling my eyes out in complete ore of the sheer perfection I was being subjected too.
Mr. Robot: 410 Gone (2019)
My favourite episode of tv ever (not the best)
Ok so yeah I'm writing this review about an hour of watching this episode and for the past hour I've been balling my eyes out whilst listening to run away with me on repeat (using my Alexa by the way) and whilst doing that I came the conclusion this is the most a piece of art has ever affected me and sure 407,8 and 9 are all definitely better than this episode but the moment on the park bench honestly is just one of the most satisfying moments in art ever and the moment I heard the trumpets in the last 5 minutes start playing my eyes just started pouring out. My favourite thing to ever happen!
Ano hi mita hana no namae o bokutachi wa mada shiranai.: Ano Natsu ni Saku Hana (2011)
"Sobbing immensely"
Yeah this is what everyone says it is. Maybe the saddest single anime episode ever. I mean damn wtf like omd why is it so sad jeeeeez.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
The greatest animated film ever made
I know the title may be quite a far reach, I don't know maybe it's not but from the relatively large sum of animated movies I've seen this one takes the spot of being the best. It's also the best superhero movie ever made but I think that's a little less of a hot take.
This film has the perfect balance of humour, action, character depth and emotional moments.
I know this may be a little clique but I truly believe that this film contains a top 3 scene ever within it.
Also the music is great and that animation style is perfect and looks like it was ripped from a comic.
Overall one of my favourite movies ever and the best animated film I have ever seen.
The Drifters (2019)
Pretty decent
Both leads are good, the story is interesting, the dialogue is realistic, the cinematography is fantastic and they talk about Tarantino.
The only thing stopping it from being higher is the last 15 minutes which has some questionable editing.
I did love the kid tho so props to the actor who plays him.
Ozark: Boss Fight (2020)
Superb episode
But I actually find it funny how so many people complaining about different characters, I've sees 1 person hate on Ben another on Ruth and about 3 people complaining about Wendy and what I find funny is non of those characters come close to being as annoying as Skyler from breaking bad. The only bad thing about this episode was the fact the kids didn't get upset there dad got kidnapped but apart from that this episode is pretty perfect
Ozark: One Way Out (2018)
WTF this episode is insane
I just watched this episode and was absolutely shocked at so many low reviews. Are these people watching the same show? This episode was so gripping and insanely intense. Not much happened? This episode is literally the equivalent of 'half measures' from breaking bad. And people saying Ruth's character development was stupid she's literally 19 and was tortured by the cartel who cares if she changes her mind about something . The main story line of this episode with mason is some of the best tv I've ever seen, the moment Marty gets down into the basement and u realise mason isn't sticking to the deal! 10/10 episode ozark just keeps getting better.
Big Mouth (2017)
Extremely funny but could be better
This show has the could be brilliant but I don't think it has quite reached its potential. Still hilarious and balances stupid comedy with serious matters of growing up.
50/50 (2011)
Extremely heartwarming
This film is great. I can't really relate to this film as much as some but I felt every emotion whilst watching it. 50/50 some how manages to perfectly balance drama, romance and comedy all at once whilst containing fantastic performances from the 3 leads. Seth rogen is absolutely hilarious throughout but not in an obnoxious way like in other films he's in. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is also great as the main character. His character is sarcastic, funny aswell as angry which the actor to does a great job of portraying all the emotions. The story can get a little corny at some points but overall a really beautiful film that can be enjoyed by nearly anyone
Euphoria: Trouble Don't Last Always (2020)
Should be made mandatory viewing for this episode
I feel so frozen after watching this episode it is one of the best episodes of television I've seen in a very long time. This show as a whole is fantastic but this bottle episode takes it to another level of excellence.
Breaking Bad (2008)
I mean it's ok
Containing in my opinion the best good to evil storyline of all time and thus this 5 season drama is extremely close to perfection.
Season 1 is a very strong opening season with some great moment and fantastic writing.
Season 2 is my least favourite season due to my disliking of the main plot lines of this storyline however it is still fantastic and introduces the majority of the best characters.
Season 3 is IMO where the show becomes great in terms of characters, writing and entertainment value. The Salamanca twins and Gus really show what the drug world is like.
Season 4 is my 2nd favourite season of tv of all time. Gus and Jesse become my 2 favourite characters in this season and the last 4 episodes is my favourite 4 episode stretch of tv ever.
Season 5 holds up to the hype. I don't think it's as good as season 4 but it is a fantastic 2 part season with what some may say a perfect finale
Any way even though breaking bad isn't my favourite show ever it is one of the greatest shows ever made.
The Wire: Misgivings (2006)
Dark and incredibly written
Just saying if this was a breaking bad episode it would be a 9.5+ this episode was honestly amazing all the way through and that ending wow. I also loved how bodie brought up how marlo killing Kevin is like them killing Wallace back in season 1 and they're almost realising how killing him was so cold and hateful. Anyway this episode was just an example of why the wire is the goat and the user named formtog doesn't know what he's talking about
The Wire: Moral Midgetry (2004)
Such a great episode
This episode is sooo good in pretty much every aspect. The dialogue throughout is good. The mcnulty and greggs story line is really funny but what makes this episode so good is marlo and Chris and the end scene. In fact the actor that plays marlo plays him sooo well and it shows in this episode, his whole crew continues to get more interesting as the story progresses.
Finally that ending is amazing idris Elba as stringer bell is honestly my favourite character in the show no matter how easy it is to hate him he is imo the perfect depiction of a drug dealing businessman gangster
Overall 10/10
The Boys: What I Know (2020)
Anthony Starr wow!!!
This finale is no doubt fantastic probably the best episode of the boys so far. The soundtrack is great the visuals and design are fantastic as always but not only that the acting was extraordinary. Pretty much everyone was great in this episode but Anthony Starr (homelander) in the climax especially was just completely terrifyingly brilliant.
Overall amazing season of tele looking forward to season 3
Parks and Recreation: Ann and Chris (2014)
Ann and Chris
Wow this is truly how to send off 2 great tv characters of a great series.
The Office (2005)
That's what she said
The Office is easily my favourite sitcom and is the show I've rewatched the most
Loosely based of the UK version the office centres around employees of a somewhat failing paper company.
Season 1 is similar to the UK version in tone however after that it is a completely different show.
Season 2 is a 10/10 season and perfect in my books and 3 and 4 are strong 9s
After steve Carell leaves the show does drop in quality but the last 2 episodes of the entire series just about make up for the dip in quality. Overall probably the most enjoyable show yet cringe show ever made. Simply brilliant
The End of the F***ing World (2017)
Funny, beautiful and intense
This 16 episode series follows two teens who in a sense let the wind take them where they want.
Both of the main characters as the show progress become extremely likeable and the concept of this show is simple yet very powerful.
This was one of the first shows that I watched and thought "wow this is incredible"
it's quirky yet dark tone is perfectly balanced making it feel right for the subject it's dealing with.
Both seasons are very good in there own sense however I see them more as one whole season just with a 2 year gap between ep 8 and 9 as you can watch the whole of this show in a day.
And this is so much better than 2 weeks to live.
Two Weeks to Live (2020)
Unfunny toilet humour
Turned it off after the awful first 5 minutes was convinced to watch the first 2 episodes and it's just more of the same garbage
The Wire: Cleaning Up (2002)
Gave me chills
My days, when I watched this episode I was so worried for Wallace and as soon as and after he gets shot I just had shivers throughout the whole episode truly powerful stuff. Shot by his own friends in his own house.
RIP Wallace
The Wire: Stray Rounds (2003)
Overall good episode but...
The first 3 minutes of this episode is one of the best openings to an episode I've ever seen gave me absolute chills. the rest of the episode was very good and sets up for the last 3 episodes of season 2
Game of Thrones: Battle of the Bastards (2016)
Wtf did I just witness
I watch Got because it's quarantine and I wanted a long show to binge watch. After viewing this episode I massively regret my decision. I've felt a lot of things watching this show but never what I feel after watching this episode. I feel physically sick after watching this and my hands are currently shaking whilst I'm writing this. Thx watch this for let's say an experience. Oh yeah and it's the best battle I've ever seen...
