The Adam Project (2022)

Lightweight movie

I liked the movie in general, characters were entertaining, but undetailed. I would say there were way more possibilities in the storyline that what was the movie itself. Emotionally it was satisfying, but the time travel part was painfully simple and predictable. Certainly this won't be in my top lists however I didn't regret watching it. Don't expect huge twists, if you want that kind of enjoyment, watch the series Dark after this one.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)

Much more positive feelings than negative

Without all spoilers. Star Wars became big again. Lot of planets, different, well made scenes, places, detailed, non-sterile environment. I absolutely loved these various places, cities, landscapes, and I love Star Wars IV-VI because this. You can be lost in space literally.

Characters. Well I would say I have a little mixed about them. I didn't like a few, liked the most. This Star Wars movie was dark, had less black and white people in it. There were many races in the movie and I honestly hoped I won't feel some awkward kind of quota on race and gender, where you have to make 50% female characters, one Hispanic, one black, one Asian, one native American, one Russian, blah blah. I saw the movie, and I could forget what skin color I see, and I was more than delighted, it worked well. They really looked like some random rebels with different background. Well made.

Politics. I guess some like it some don't. It showed a more realistic rebellion. I liked it, but I can understand if somebody isn't for it.

Story. I can tell I heard better stories from Star Wars universe, but this one really stands for a movie I think. I didn't have the expectation for like an ultimate plot, but I got a great story about colorful people.

Nostalgia. 100% I thing they now grabbed really what we all liked in old movies.

CGI: FINALLY they used on a right way. I don't want to shoot it, check it out. Okay not perfect everywhere, but it made me smile big time. On the other hand, I am happy to see, they really dropped the idea to make the last chair with CGI. It is good finally.

I can recommend this movie to all Star Wars fans. Check it out, and get a cinema ticket. It worth all cents.

Repeaters (2010)

Decent movie, IMHO somewhat underrated

Repeaters don't give you anything brand new.

But what it gives, is a decent moral questions: would you do something if it is absolutely sure you won't get punished? If you have morals of course you won't do it. Is freedom really about you can do whatever you want? Do you have the right to do immoral things when you are in extraordinary situation?

To be fair, these questions are making this movie's rate 7. I have seen other time repeating movies, and they were more comedies. This is decently dark, more human, no laughter. But in exchange you get important moral questions to think about.

For me as an atheist it is representing the question: Can an atheist be moral? And the answer is absolutely yes. If you have freedom to do whatever you want without punishment, it is YOUR choice to be jerk or normal. It is your decision if you want to live in the moral squalor you made, or make your environment better.

I know this review was personal, but it is always good to have personal message from a movie.

For sum it up: I might watch it once more. It is generally a good movie. It is not epic, but I think this is a recommended movie for everybody over a certain maturity level.

How to show...

• If you can choose to spend 5 years in the worst gulag or to watch this movie, then start packing.

• If you have the choice to poke your eyes before starting this movie, then do it. It will save your sane mind.

• If you have the opportunity to torture somebody seriously, you can forget all the medieval inventions for that. Show them this movie.

• If in the future this will be the only surviving proof of the mankind, hopefully the aliens will just throw it into the sun and never come back.

The characters are ridiculous, the plot is not consistent, the jokes are not funny, the actors and the producer are brain-dead zombies.

Fist of Jesus (2012)

This is brilliant!

I have a feeling when I watch these short, low budget movies that the money doesn't buy you a good movie. Brilliant idea? Enthusiastic amateur actors? You have a good movie. From time to time you see great movies, they are hilarious. I really enjoy an amateur movie if I can forget about it's amateur characteristic. That means they really loved the idea around the movie and they tried their best to entertain

Watch it if:

• you like horrors. A must see!!!

• you like amateur movies with fresh ideas.

Don't watch if:

• you go to church every weekend. Seriously this is a movie what you will have to confess next time.

Rent-a-Kid (1995 TV Movie)

Somewhat underrated

I can say this movie is clearly underrated. Maybe my age, my memories, childhood etc... It is cute, it has good sense of humor (Leslie Nielsen!!!), and don't expect great plots, huge surprises, this is a family movie which provides humor for everybody in the family.

I really feel it has nice interpretation of kids' difficulties who have troubles with having integration to family life, and well, I am pretty sure I will be somewhat clueless when it comes to dealing with kids like the parents.

Brilliant movie? Not. Worth to see? Of course, give it a chance. Don't get fooled by the low rating.

Revolution (2012–2014)

Revolution? Plenty things to love and hate in it.

Altogether I must say I find this show entertaining. The basic plot is interesting even if it is not acceptable scientifically. Okay, it is a sci-fi, let's assume it, and try to enjoy, it is not horribly wrong.

Real pros:

• Monroe republic? Steppes? Some people to restore to old USA? Factions everywhere, politics, personal interests, plots everywhere. Yummy.

• Many people here are in the gray zone, they are not black or white, like real people, it is OK, and you need to figure out what will they do next.

• Keeping up tension, I don't remember episodes where I lost interest in watching the next one.

Real cons:

• Sometimes unreal reactions. It is sometimes a bit ridiculous.

• Unbelievable coincidences, this is the part you will hate, and too many of them!

• This is not the game of thrones. And when you watch the show, you will understand why I say it. I try to avoid SPOILERs.

The Man from Earth (2007)

Simply brilliant

This is the perfect example which shows how can you make excellent movie out of few coins. The basic idea is brilliant, and it is more than enough to keep you entertained. There are no fancy screenplays, no action, no violence, no CGI pumped pictures, just people talking, and let you enjoy the story behind the movie.

I can say, this is not a typical movie for kids, and not because it contains something what is not suitable to view, simply because the story is entertaining more experienced people who have the basic knowledge of the world. Kids could be get bored by it. But I warmly recommend this movie for those who are more into sciences and thinking. No, wait. This is a must see for them!
