standard Bugs fare
31 August 2003
When Bugs make a wrong turn (no, not the famous one), he ends up in Napoleon's mansion.

Not the most memorable of the Bugs shorts, but the needed comedy relief can be found in Rocky's sidekick Mugsy, who shows up as Captain of the Guard.

Well paced, but Nappy doesn't work too well against Bugs.

Oh Maverick!
31 August 2003
In this decent Bob McKimson short, Bugs' hole is mistaken for a oil well in Texas by a rich Texan and his mute sidekick.

One of the strengths of this short is the pantomime of the sidekick, Maverick. A decent character that could have been brought back on occasion, like Mugsy.

Definite must see if you never have. 8/10

Standard Bugs/Sam short
23 September 2002
Slightly above average Bugs/Sam short that starts in Alaska, and finishes with an ending that, to this day, makes me wonder 'why did they do that?'

All in all, worth watching. 7/10.

"She's the daughter of Rosie O'Grady......"

One of the ways to make a character a 'hero' is to make trouble find the character, instead of the character looking for trouble.

In this short, Bugs is encountered by a group of New York 'toughs' who just happen to be dogs.

This short is most noticeable for one of the early introductions of Spike, the big dog wearing the derby and sweater, later paired up with Chester in their own couple of shorts. This is a fun short, so if you get the chance, definitely watch it. 8/10.

Cup of Tea?
27 February 2002
One of McKimson's better Bugs episodes, as Bugs teaches a young bunny how to handle Pete Puma. The star of this episode though is Stan Freberg, as he was the one who voiced Pete. He gave Pete an 'over-the-top' voice, but perfectly matched what the character looked like. Good running gag about tea. 8/10.

Yaya, Yaya, that make good sense.......

One of my personal favorites, as Bugs is awakened to the sound of a fox hunt, and decides to get in on the act. Best scene is the whole train-track scene, makes me howl with laughter however many times I see it. Non-stop action, with a surprise finish, as Bugs for once gets it in the end(literally).

Pardon, Pardon, Pardon me, Pardon........

Another classic Elmer chases Bugs short, this time, chased into a theatre with the usual slapstick results. Good scenes - trying to move through the row of seats, and the intermission switch scene. The ending with the special seat is really slow. Makes it feel like the short dragged on too long. 7 out of 10

Golf anyone?
15 January 2001
When Bugs takes that oh-so-famous right turn when he should have went left, he ends up in Scotland instead of the Labrea Tar Pits. The best ever game of golf ever seen on T.V. against a Scottish bag-pipe player ensues. Definitely for any Bugs fan whose ever played a round of golf. I only wish i could pull some of those stunts on the links. 10 out of 10.

Great Show
14 January 2001
A Hanna-Barbera classic, i would probably rate this in the top 5 H-B cartoons of all time. Its a half hour show, with about 8 wild looking cars duelling out to the end. Dick Dastardly was H-B's Wile E. Coyote, using many contraptions to try and stop his opponents. Only difference was that Dick's partner, the snikering Muttley, is there to openly laugh at Dick's foul ups. Cartoon stands the test of time, being funny today as much as it was when it first aired. My personal favorite was the Ant Hill Mob.

Must see.....
14 January 2001
Went looking for this movie after i read Tom Clancy's "Red Storm Rising" novel. Timeless masterpiece about 13th century Russians being invaded by the Germans. Movie was made in 1938, under orders from Joseph Stalin to warn Soviets about Hitler and Germany. Battle scenes are wonderfully done, showing that you don't need computer animation to make a great fight scene. Probably Sergei Eisenstein's greatest work. Also see 'Battleship Potemkin'. Any history buff or poli-sci major should watch this movie. 10 out of 10.

a good one

One of the better Bugs shorts, although not seen much today due to its depiction of blacks picking cotton and parodies of Uncle Tom's Cabin. If you can forgive those misgivings, then this is a definite must see short. Bugs takes on a Mississippi Colonel on a riverboat.
