Actually, some episodes in this series may be a good teaching tool in schools since they give opportunities for discussions about bigotry, prejudice, racism, class, politics, love, hate, right, wrong etc. and how it changed (and still continues to change) us.
Many episodes left viewers with a message that is just as important today as it was 30+ years ago.
Remember the episode where an old man (played by Burt Mustin) ran away from the nursing home because he thought no one cared?
or another episode where Archie's war buddy comes to town to visit, but doesn't have time for his own son?
and the time Edith's friend got promoted over Archie at work?
Yes, folks. Pay attention. It's still out there.
