Dolittle (2020)

not appropriate for elementary school kids

I am not sure who thinks this is only mild intense on the parental advisory listings. Also Comments about this movie being appropriate and family entertainment for elementary school kids is totally misleading. The first half of the movie is ok only a few spots we had to ask both our kids (6 and 12) to cover their eyes. However Many intense and scary scenes right after they set off on the boat voyage, being attacked by cannons of the larger ship. On the island it got worse with loud angry lions, an extremely scary villian character. We left the theatre at this point and so did a family with older kids.

it could have been a cute movie and first half was really enjoyable, not sure why they had to wreck it with scary scenes not appropriate for kids.

Pearl Harbor (2001)

A GREAT Action/Love story

I am sorry to say many of the previous comments about this film must have been from people who expect the deepest of plots and flawless story lines.

If you like action films, you will like this film. The acting is very well done and the cinematography was indeed first class.

Will it win any awards? probably not but it is certainly worth seeeing on the big screen!

The trailers for the movie pretty much show you want the movie will be like, so if liked the trailers, you will like this film.

To Walk with Lions (1999)

A superb film!

This film is very true to actual happenings toward the end of George's life. He was a remarkable man and this movie is very well done indeed. It is funny, sad, heart wrenching and just a wonderful film to watch. I I know I am going to have to watch the story of Elsa If I can find it. I have read the bon free series as well as the biography of George by Gareth Patterson (who somehow was left out of this story including the 3 new cubs that George received just before his murder).

The film also shows the true situation in Africa of the cruel slaughter of animals and the systematic corruption that plagues the governments.

A truly inspiring movie, everyone should watch.

Miss Congeniality (2000)

A very funny movie

This Movie exceeded my expectations and thankfully the trailers did not give away the funniest parts. This is definitely a movie worth watching. Sandra Bullock looks incredible too and I have never really liked her. Go see it. I gave it a 7.5/10

Funniest movie since American Pie

I can't say I really wanted to see this from the trailers I saw, but this movie is very funny. The whole theatre was practically rolling on the floor. I laughed so hard it hurt.

go see it, you will like it. Don't expect a deep plot though.

Erin Brockovich (2000)

Funny and entertaining

This one is worth a watch, it is a very funny movie with a very serious side as well. Environmental cover-ups occur far too much and this story helps to bring an important issue into the light. Acting was top notch! 10/10

Rules of Engagement (2000)

Great Acting, Enjoyable film

I would first like to say that you can't go wrong with Tommy and Samuel, they are both great actors and did it again in this movie, which is one of the best i have seen in quite a while (along with Erin Brokovitch). Sure some people might say there were holes in the story or they didn't see the plot, but WHY DOES THERE ALWAYS HAVE TO BE SOME DEEP UNDERLYING PLOT OR TWIST??? Sure, its probably not going to win awards (although i think Tommy and Sammy should get a nod) but if you want to watch a fun, exciting movie (and contrary to a previous post, there was some humour in the film, although subtle) then go see ROE. It is very entertaining. 9/10

The Cider House Rules (1999)

Well done, very entertaining

I am the type to normally watch mindless action films and it takes a rare film to interest me in the same way. Cider House Rules was exceptionally cast and the acting well done. The story line a great with some very important messages to tell. 9/10

The Limey (1999)

Do not see this if you don't like 'artsy' films

At this point the movie has an 8/10, but I think that is a bit of a stretch. The flash forwards and flash backwards were agonizing and hearing and seeing the same frames over and over again drove me nuts!! come on. The acting was pretty bad except for Stamp as he did an admirable job with a pretty thin plot and bad cinematography. I give it a 5/10.

American Beauty (1999)

a good movie but a little artsy

I am not one who likes artsy critically acclaimed movies but this one was not bad as Kevin Spacey and Annette benning are 2 of my favourite actors, I think that saved the movie from being totally worthless. Worth a see but its not a 10 and should not be #7 on the top 250 as it does not compare to movies like the shawshank or Shindlers list at all.

Blue Streak (1999)

A bit of a dud but not all bad

Well, I have to say from the trailers that this one looked good. Sad to say that all the funniest parts were in the trailers :( there some good action here and there, as a movie goes its not a total dud, but I wouldn't waste 10 bucks (CDN) on it if I had to redo it, wait for the video or the discount theatre.

Not a thinking movie thats for sure, but the roller bladding was quite interesting and I'm glad to see no real fights... a light film to be taken at face value.

The Thomas Crown Affair (1999)

A light fun entertaining movie

Well worth the money, this is a light movie that is quite entertaining and leaves you asking yourself a question at the end.....how'd he do that! :)

Overall this is a good film and what I expected. Brosnan is his usual James bond self and Russo had on way too much makeup!! but her clothes were quite appealing :)

Wild Wild West (1999)

Bad, very bad.

I am someone that enjoys movies you don't have to analyze, just dumb entertainment, but this movie is just bad. It is funny in a few spots which is its only redeeming quality. A poor movie for Will and the only other good thing about it is the song at the end :) Not worth the money
