1923: Nothing Left to Lose (2023)
A Series of Unfortunate Events
...is not a good cliffhanger. When it comes to an episode that well might be the end of the story if not renewed for whatever reason you have some sort of expectations. Not all have to be matched and I'm sure in for a surprise, but this was: none at all. It's a shame to see the good build-up and the impressive acting of the main cast to go to waste as the story develops into just more hardships. Or better: stories, plural. With Spencer we at least know where it's going even tho it's hard to believe how many unfortunate events a single character can have. What an end would have been he setting foot on American soil. No, just more problems. And then there is this the C-Plot that goes absolutely nowhere and actually doesn't invite to come back for another season. Was it just a nod to the American Heritage Association? Will it eventually cross lines with the story?
So, all other episodes build up to something. This one: nothing. Let's see if viewer give the show another try next year. Wouldn't wonder if not.
Zhuo yao ji (2015)
Maybe okay for little kids...
...but I had to finally switch it off when they started singing. That was obviously to soon for a proper review of 150 characters or more. But I will not turn it on again.
Midsommar (2019)
Too slow
I didn't made past the first 20 Minutes without the urge to switch of that boring stuff. And eventually I did. Maybe there would be a better movie behind all that, but your have to grab your viewers first...
Liu lang di qiu (2019)
A film made by bots rated by bots
The unlock way this uninspired crap can get a better rating than 3 is by massive bot-voting of single-action-Accounts galore...
Death Wish (2018)
Commercial
That's one hell of an advertisement for the NRA. 'nuff said.
Quella villa accanto al cimitero (1981)
A classic, not!
Whether or not I would have been impressed if I would have seen this film at age 11--or when the film was new--I can't decide, but compared to other films of that decade it's boring at best and by today standards it just sunk to bottom of the crap-pool. The only thing you can do, is create a decent drinking-game: have one every time one is saying "Bob!" or a close-up on a pair of blue eyes is shown and you'll be done in ten minutes. To actually watch the flic let alone think about it is a complete waste of time.
Cracker (1997)
Poor Plagiarism
This is what you get when you try to redo an extremely good miniseries without the great actors of the original. Where the british Cracker has everything to watch each episode twice, the US version has everything to turn it off after five minutes. Maybe if one starts with this version it could be considered a good series, but knowing the original, it only hurts. That beg the question: why have they done it after all? Why not broadcast the original?
