Sami's big day approaches.

How can something so bittersweet, which deals with something so emotive, so sensitive, be so good?

It's finally arrived, Sami has his substantive interview (I didn't even know that was the term,) and his dream of his family uniting in Britain is very much on.

It's been a hugely impressive first series, Sami is just a great guy, trying to get a new start for him, and his family, although you have to question his true feelings for his wife.

Every character has developed nicely, Sami of course, but the dynamic between Peter and John has been one of the best aspects, a real credit to those involved for making the characters so good, and characters you care about.

Casting Shearsmith as the interviewer was a stroke of genius, he played the part very well.

It had laughs, although this was tinged more so with sadness.

Can't wait for series 2, 8/10.
