This will be the first season of "Endeavour" in which the character of Joan Thursday makes no appearances. (This is because Sara Vickers, who plays her, had had a baby shortly before shooting began).

Goofs
When the old guy is found dead in his narrowboat, and the murdered woman's purse recovered from it, this is reported to have been at Gas Street Basin. This is right in the heart of the City of Birmingham, surrounded by tall buildings. But it is depicted as being in a totally rural setting.

Wonderful

I missed " Morse" , and enjoyed the first episode from the new season. I'm glad that he shaved his moustache, last season we could see only a brush hanging below a pair of sad eyes:) Now we see an interesting dynamic, apparently Morse is stepping on Tuesday's toes...we shall see what will come out of it.
